  1. the car bounces over bumps a shock is a dampener meaning it is used to keep the spring from moving too much up and down by limiting the forces of such a spring does most of the suspension work by keeping ride height and fighting gravity to keep the car at an optimun height an easy waay of sorts it to have the car driven on a highway and have another car drive beside it look at the wheel as it goes over bumps does it seem to do go too high or low over bumps rather than follow the road?
  2. there are professionals who remove dents with special tools that go behind the sheet metal and work it out usually aroud $80 and looks perfect after
  3. most lexus i have seen don't have low quality paint jobs and do you mean 2000 psi ? i think my water tap has more than 20 and i think you need to investiagte rubbing compound before you recommend anyone to use it wax does not replace paint or clear coat which you would have just removed by using the compound unless you are mixing up rubbing compounds name with another product like a polishing compound which is very different
  4. there are ways to fix chips not cracks they basically use perssur through a plunger to evacuate the air int eh cracka nd fill it with acrylic the professionals use a machine with a vacum compressor to remove even more air and then force the acrylic in then it wipes away and no more chip but cracks cannot be stopped once sarted maybe the x thing works but i have not used it
  5. it looks likea big accordian hose it is on the left side ( when i mention left or right it is in regards to when you are seated in the drivers seat) it leaves the air filter box behind the battery and goes to the intake manifold just pull apart the ribs and look bettween them
  6. ;) hey bbsal i don't know if me rubbing of on me is a good thing or not but you are quite welcome to just don't do it too often or get tooo close lol besides you help alot of members faster than i can by readin posts and finding info on common problems by the way thanks for the mini cedits you leave in the posts ( as per sk) B) if the brakes are squeling then it is more than likely the brake pad shims were not reinstalled when the new ones went in go get some and and noise should be gone if it is at a slow speed then it might be at inital driving caused by moisture on the rotors drying and causing surface rust when parked when you start to movee it will make a bit of noise as it is rubed off the rotor another option is the squeal bar on the pad when the pads get worn they touch against the rotors to tell you they need to be changed usually under slow speeds and it disappears when the brakes are applied heavily lots of options good luck
  7. i am not sure how the power washer will weaken paint? also rubbing compoud is not for clear coat cars it is for acrylic paint and will strip the paint very nicely if that is the effect you want?
  8. if you feel a shake in the steering wheel when brakeing then it is the rotors on the front only feeling a groove will not help as grooves do not cause a pulsation associated with warpage of the rotors there are 2 possibilities you have warped rotors which only get worse or the wheels were not properly seated and torqued causing the wheel to vibrate you can get tehm machined meaning a small tool bit is held to the edge of the rotor the machine spins it and cuts off small amounts of metal to return the surface of the rotor to become true or a flat surface again any shop that does brakes usually have a brake lathe
  9. what did the mechanic charge you for the filter in the tranny for it has a metal screen actually what year is your car?
  10. washing a black car is just like anyother it is the waxing and maintaing it needs to keep the gloss look as it takes longer to get back the shine also use a wash mitt and wash it oftern in the laundry to remove dirt which will scratch the car easily btw i only say try a serch when a new member asks the simplest question that has been answered like the ant or engine mounts ;)
  11. wwe don't have autozone up here remember i am :whistles: Canadian my port reader obd II doesn't read anyother codes than the engine related ones plus there are other ports to connect to the other ecu's
  12. sorry piggy i thought you already replaced that hose very good advice i would check it asap as it is a common problem especially with worn engine mounts
  13. the suspension is very soft causing abnormal wear when the car is turning at a rate faster than a snail meaning the geometry is made to keep the ride supple not create a maximum contact patch of the tires another thing is if it is the rear tires going on the inside if it is at the same ratethen i might even think that there is extra weight do you carry alot of stuff in the car or ttrunk much you may need to get an alignment with some kind of load in the trunk or else the car willl wear alot when the load is added or removed the wear you have is similar to lowered cars called camber wear which is the iside of the tires going but it is because the tires are angled at the bottom outwards causing it to run on the inner edges ,thus more wear but it is great for added traction in a high speed turn
  14. when you are going to wash wax your car the easiest way to remove a good bit of wax and residue is by using dishwashing liquid as it strips the paint to prep it for the wax claying is basically a clay bar used with a lube spray to remove small debris particles from the paint for a very smooth surface used alot after painting over spray
  15. i use a damp cloth ad then it wipes itself clean no residue microfibre towels are the best if find as they have no lint
  16. is it only fm or am also
  17. it will always spin btu only get high pressure when needed to spin faster but you will hear the fan cutting the air when it is like when the a/c is turned on even at startup the fan will start spinning but it can be stopped by your hand please don't try it to check
  18. funny enough that is my other ghetto thing to do i bring 1 bucket and my own mitt and use the power washer usually at night so they are not busy for anyone to complain
  19. go and by the pump gasket and do it all over again gasket sealers are really only for nuts and bolts i would never actually use any of them to replace a real gaket seal
  20. no rim will give the car a flush to the body fit as the tire would then get chunks ripped out when you go over bumps
  21. it is all about the finish on the concreat the smoother the loder it is just like a painted floor is on tires
  22. yes drain it out i don't feel it is preferred , but more like it is an issue of it being compatiable unlike the green ( to me)
  23. yah a clay bar is great but notu until the main parts are gone from sight other wise you will not scratch the paint but gouge it real good
  24. lexus isn't too big on incentives never mind the 4 major players in the gta have all the market tehy need for full sticker and it is a brand new vehicle
