  1. Well, $285 later I've got headlights again! It was just the bulb.
  2. If it really bugs you you can also disconnect the battery. They had to remove my battery to replace my headlight bulb and now the display reads 335 miles when filled up.
  3. First of all you are incorrect. The CIA intelligence never showed that the threat originated in Iraq and nobody said they had anything to do with 9/11. They have always known 9/11 was masterminded by Al Qaeda in Afghanistan. Hence why we retalliated...in Afghanistan. The intelligence showed that Saddam had WMD and his ties to terrorist organizations were suspect. Thats all. Do I think that Bush knew the intelligence was faulty? No. Do I think that he didn't dig very deeply to try and disprove what he was seeing because it went along with specifically what he wanted to do? Yes. He figured that Saddam must have had WMD...so he shot from the hip which is something all of his biographers say he was famous for doing. This time however it cost us trillions of dollars and thousands of lives...for what? A bad dictator is gone. Lots of bad dictators out there...who ACTUALLY have WMD and now we are too flaacid to do anything about it. Perfectly legitimate to blame Bush for that. Nobody ever said Iraq was involved in 9/11...even back then.
  4. I agree, they don't know. However I am 100% sure had he put it in neutral he would have regained control of the car. He panicked and neglected to do that.
  5. You definately had an attitude jw, and I do think you were a little out of line. I don't see the issue with sending you a link provided that link directs you to the information you need. Its not like Lextech is some huge company with dedicated customer service people. Its a guy in a garage. HOWEVER, whatever the attitude there is no excuse for a company to call their customers a dirty name...as someone who does business with customers I find that response...incredible. To call him a b@stard? Wow. I'd stay away.
  6. It would never happen. For one thing the dealers are independently owned...Lexus and Toyota make money off the dealers...they don't cost them money.
  7. We'll see. People forget pretty quickly...
  8. The issue with a touchless wash is the detergents. They are very, very harsh. Felt carwash the issue is detergents and filthy felt tips. I wash mine with Optimum No-Rinse in the garage.
  9. Yep...warranties are a beautiful thing...
  10. Nobody seems to be able to touch Ford's SYNC system...best voice recognition Ive used.
  11. Resetting the economy doesn't help. The economy it uses to calculate the range is a longer term economy you cannot reset. Drive on a highway trip and then fill up, the range will be higher.
  12. Do you have some data to back up this assertion? Floor mounted pedals are used by BMW, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Mercedes...are all these very respected carmakers using an "obsolete design"? I vastly prefer the floor mounted pedal.
  13. Unless the point was that a bad thing happening to us gives us carte blanche to wage war against anyone we want, even if they had no involvement in the bad thing that happened to us then he didn't miss the point at all.
  14. Lexusfreak's advice is correct...whether you directed the question to him or not
  15. Try it yourself. Just put it in neutral on the highway and see what happens...
  16. Carpet quality is one of the issues I have with the ES350 compared to the previous ES330 and 300.
  17. I was hoping you weren't ;)
  18. I don't blame you... The part numbers aren't going to tell you anything but the make and model of the car, and a range of years. Unless one of the peices has a VIN on it. Take a picture of the peice and post it on here...I might be able to tell you what Honda it was off of by the peice...
  19. The knob is for the volume of the lock/unlock "beep" the car makes when using the fob or the SKS system. All Lexus vehicles have had that knob...
  20. The interior seemed to be to be trying to be angular and macho for no real purpose. Lots of angles, hard metal covers that slid around to access switches. Switches over dramatized in large...truckish shapes and configurations. Dash is very upright and Jeep-ish. I think the interior in the previous GX was much more attractive and functional. Given the choice I think the Benz GL is much more attractive.
  21. They were able to recover the floor mat, and it was a rubber floor mat from an RX, not the ES. Its all just assumption... So what are you saying, that the electronic throttle malfunctioned causing the vehicle to accelerate out of control, and the engine control computer malfunctioned not allowing the transmission to be put into neutral...at the same time. The chances of that happening have got to be incredibly, incredibly small. You're talking about two systems which work together, but are not dependent on each other to function. Occam's razor, its far more likely that he just did not put the transmission into neutral. Training aside when your family is in the car and screaming and crying...sometimes people don't make the same choices in a crisis that they do in a more controlled situation.
  22. No, the ES and IS were in the previous recall for the floor mats...not this recall. I smell a rat personally. Looking at those units deconstructed...I don't buy its the accelerators at all.
  23. They're just not going to be of the same level as Lexus dealerships. Our Hyundai dealer is the same as the Toyota dealer that we serviced the Prius at until I found our mechanic. Its not bad, you do get loaners like at Lexus but you get an Elantra. What's your issue with the Genesis' interior design? I love the interior.
  24. Gotcha. I knew that wasn't on the road...
