  1. Yoko makes some good tires, but they don't make anything comparable to the Primacy MXV4 in the same sizes and speed ratings. The only tire I would buy for that car is the Michelin.
  2. I use the average, but I reset it for the trip. Around town my average is 22 or so, which is still incredible considering I got 17 around town in my '03 ES300
  3. The two are different. The Garmin is more "user friendly", but the OEM Nav has the benefit of being built in, having a nice big screen, the backup camera, the phone integration, the menus for all the vehicle options being right there. I have a Garmin too that I use in rental cars and such when traveling, I personally would never even consider buying a Lexus and sticking that ugly Garmin up on the windshield. Very happy with the Lexus nav, have been for going on 8 years.
  4. Yep, I'm back! We were in FL for 9 days.
  5. Yep, you can post it in the buy and sell forums. Not in the ES specific forum though.
  6. Did they try to jump it? My guess is the 12V battery is dead. A lot of tow companies just wont jump-start Hybrids, they just tow them in.
  7. I don't think they can do that LOL, more for inputting and finding destinations. You can say "I need a good italian restaurant within 5 miles of here" and they can use the Zagat guide to find one, etc. Sometimes it takes forever for them to download a destination. I still haven't figured out how to set destinations on the computer and find them from within the car...
  8. I'm not sure why you wouldn't buy a unit that also includes navigation?
  9. You can also use the LexusEnform service and call the operator and have them input your destination when moving. Works much better than the voice commands...and its free the first year.
  10. On the highway with the cruise set at 75, mine gets 31, 32MPG as per the computer readout.
  11. Unlike the warranty, its not a profit center for the dealer. The warranty has a markup and is sold by the finance people on commission, thats why you can find dealers that sell it so cheap. The SafetyConnect, Enform, etc are like the XM radio, its a subscription service and the dealer receives no profit from you subscribing to it or not. So really, if you want it those will be the prices.
  12. The Android operating system does not have very good Bluetooth integration. My wife has an HTC Eris and has all kinds of problems with its integration into the Bluetooth in the Prius (we haven't even tried it in the Lexus yet). My Blackberry Tour works great...
  13. It really does get incredible mileage doesn't it?
  14. Nothing wrong with that. I always really enjoyed using the dealer, everyone treats you so well, loaners are handy, nice surroundings. Very upscale experience, and such as any other upscale experience it costs more. The other benefit is if you do have some sort of borderline warranty issue, the dealer is more likely to go to bat for you if you have a history with them. I thought about having my 350 serviced at the dealer again since its new and under warranty, but my mechanic has become a good friend and I hate to take the business from him.
  15. Gotcha, yeah those badges have never had pins on Lexus vehicles, but the center "L" does.
  16. Worth a shot, I'll bring it up at the 5 k service...
  17. Yeah...leaving a cell phone plugged into the car all the time charging is foolish, IMHO. Why not simply bring the phone inside to charge like everybody else does?
  18. So you still have the Lexus badge, the "L" in the center of the decklid. That has pins I'm 99% sure.
  19. The 70s were a beautiful time lol
  20. I'm trying to decide whether I should spend the money to replace the Bridgestones with Primacys when the Bridgestones are new, or just wait for them to wear some. Won't be long, they have a 240 treadwear...
  21. No, that never happened so far as I could tell, and when I bought my new one 2 months ago...the negotiation was alive and well...
  22. From the owners section of Lexus.com
  23. My guess is since its always that one door that something is amiss with the sensor behind the handle on that door. The system knows when you walk up...it turns on the interior lights and the puddle lamps. It knows when you put your hand in that door handle to unlock the doors. Somehow it must be thinking the hand is there when it isn't... A trip to the dealer is in order...
  24. I'm sure the gearing is slightly different, but I bet its within a hundred RPM or so... My wife says the same thing after driving the Lexus since she's so used to the CVT in the Prius.
  25. I would ask to drive the '07 that exhibits the same noise... They'd have offered if it really did I think...
