I hope it works out for you. The Infiniti M is a nice car, they are very attractive to buy used because of terrible resale value... I think the refresh in 09 did a lot for it, and the all new M is a great car. I would definitely buy one over a GS.

Is she the primary driver? Unfortunately the system on the 09- car works that way. if it is accustomed to her phone pairing, thats the one it auto pairs. If you get in it you have to make it pair with yours once, then it should automatically pair with yours and she should have to manually do it the first time. The 2010+ system will try the primary phone, then try the secondary phone until it achieves a pairing...but the old system will not...

Mine also connects automatically every time. What kind of phone do you have? Some phones require you to set a Bluetooth device as trusted (Blackberrys), and if you don't do that you have to manually connect each time.

It definitely happens...even rarer on Michelins which in my experience are rounder and truer than other brands of tires...

The "perma plate" is just a gimmick. All it is is a not so great polymer sealant. Just wash it with whatever car wash soap you like. As for the emblems, I have never had a car with them before but I can't believe they'd be that sensitive.

Oh we have definitely seen a resurgence of wealthier people wanting to live in the city, and in parts of the city that those same people would have been afraid to drive through 10 years ago. People like a walkable downtown type feeling. You see it out in the 'burbs too, all of the new developments being built (not many where I live because Montgomery County is pretty completely developed), but out in VA, Frederick, MD and PG County, MD are PUDs, or "Planned Urban Developments". The residential housing is designed around a commercial central hub giving the feeling of a downtown atmosphere. These are getting more and more urban feeling too, theres one development going up in Gaithersburg that is going to be pretty dense as opposed to mostly townhomes and single family homes like the development where I live...

What else could it be? The only other option is some worn front suspension component or a bad motor or transmission mount...which on a brand new car would be very unlikely. I've also had tires on a Lexus vehicle that could not be balanced. All the balancing equipment would register them balanced...and they would be smooth for a while and the vibration would come back. Balance them again...smooth for a while and it'd come back. Replaced the tires...never had a balance problem again...must have been a belt or something in one of the tires that was loose or shifting.

But NC...its because of this recession I've had to skip the LS this time and make do with a lowly ES. Pity me! LOL I tell customers I meet this all the time...we know nothing in the DC area about the hardships of the recession... You wrote all that on an iPod? I'm impressed!

Yeah $100 for a road force balance at an independent shop is a small price to pay, if it works (I suspect it will) call 1-800-25-LEXUS and demand a refund because the dealer was incapable of solving the problem.

I've driven these cars for 13 years...true balancing tires is not rocket science, but on these cars the balance has to be PERFECT, where as on other cars if its off a little, you'll never know. I have had one shop balance them over and over again and swear they are fine when they aren't, and another shop balances them once and they're perfect. Its easy to say that you would take a $7,000 loss over something like this...but that would be crazy...

Taxes are actually due on April 18th this year. Hopefully that doesn't mean the world is coming to an end LOL Theres nothing wrong with a union protecting the better interests of a workforce and making sure that its members are taken care of. My Grandfather was a coal miner in West Virginia, he was injured in a cave in when he was in his late 40s and could no longer work. United Mine Workers made sure he was taken care of and my Grandmother was taken care of as long as they both lived. They never had much money, but they could always eat, keep the heat on, and get medical care whenever they needed it. They made sure the mine owners were held accountable for his injuries and that he would be okay. The issue is that a lot of these unions have lost sight of reality IMHO. They hold companies hostage until they meet their demands and oftentimes their demands are so unreasonable that over time they wind up destroying the very companies their members work for. The US Auto Industry is a great example of this...airlines... There's a fine line between making sure that workers aren't taken advantage of, and providing workers with a mechanism to take advantage of their employers. The US simply cannot compete if we have to pay someone $40 an hour to put fenders on cars...and then force them to allow those workers to retire at 55 and continue to be paid until they die...and their spouses to be paid until they die... Its a tough issue...you can see both sides of it...

You can't just "get another one". At this point getting out of the ES is going to cost him HUGE in depreciation, and the lemon law is no easy thing to get coverage under. Anyways its not necessary. I'm almost certain a proper balancing will solve the issue.

It would have to be REALLY out of alignment. To the OP...if the dealer can't get it done...I would take it to an independent shop and have them road force balance it at your own expense. Should cost about $100 I bet that solves the problem. If that fixes it I would try and get Lexus to reimburse you by calling 1-800-25-LEXUS . I have had these cars balanced by a shop over and over again and swear they were in balance...and then a different shop balances it once and its perfect. The dealer's just out to lunch on this issue. It certainly is not a "characteristic of the car". Mine rides like its on glass at any speed...on the same Bridgestone tires (which aren't the greatest).

No, an alignment is not going to present as a vibration like that. The steering would pull to one side or the next, but the vibration is a signature of wheel balance.

I moved this to the ES350 forum... It certainly is not normal. It definitely sounds like wheels out of balance to me. These cars are finicky with balance, if the tech isn't really careful it being just a little out of balance can produce a strong vibration...
