I don't think they have them at Home Depot, but they do have them at Lowes. Then you'll want to get some pads which you'll probably have to buy online and he'll be all set. As for the rotary you can use the products I'm going to send you with it for sure, but you need some new pads for it. You can get them at www.properautocare.com same pads you would have bought for the PC.

LF- But the real test of value is how long they run, the only real data I have is the fact that my first set of LTX M/S ran 100k, thats huge for a tire. They had tread left too but I wanted to replace them just because they had...100k on them! The other tires may be SLIGHTLY less expensive but in this case I'd be willing to pay the extra becauseof being unsure about the longevity. When I bought my tires I didn't have any such experience so I was willing to try the Toyos (which I really like).

Only problem with ceramic pads is they're harder on the rotors.

Oh you can get anything special factory order, they can even paint the car any Lexus color you want, but you have to wait and it kills any discount off MSRP. They just don't build/ship the ES to the east coast with the AVS, I don't know why. You can get them on the west coast and as you know in Canada. Another thing to factor in is BMW' free maintenance for the first 4yrs 50k.

Like I told you in PM I definately would be careful with that. Thats a rotary and not an orbital so its possible to introduce serious swirling and even burn through the paint. As for pads I'm not sure if you can buy them locally or not. You can get good pads online at www.properautocare.com As for the PC, all the PC polishers are the same, the difference lies in the counterweight and whatever they come with.

I just know if I spent $1000 on brakes (well, it was at least $500 for the fronts I'm sure) and they squealed I'd be back there already.
-
But Lexus uses top (and very soft) pads and brand new rotors, they don't even turn rotors. I've had brakes put on Lexuses several times including my ES and have never had them squeal from Lexus.
-
I've never had a brake job done to a car that squealed and then miraculously stopped squealing, including on Lexuses...

Yeah the Gold Class has a lot of cleaners, so does the NXT though. So probably the NXT removed the Gold Class. You might be able to use the WEN polisher, is it orbital?

Real estate is really different though, in Real Estate you sell yourself more than you sell the product and *usually* real estate salespeople are more ethical than car salespeople. You also make way more money per transaction and there are added risks for the salespeople. In all honesty Real Estate sales can't be compared to most other sales type positions. I do think the dealer screwed you on the warranty though. Basically they sold you a non-certified car at a certified price...

Duh...why didn't I think of that. Yeah wait a minute...

My 2006 Gx470 Total Redesign Out In April 2005

I had heard the next LX was going to come off the Sequoia platform. -
Excellent advice. Car salespeople are professionals, and their profession is usually (not always) about making money. They size you up the second you walk in the door and know exactly how to play you to get the most out of the deal. The salesman made a fortune on that deal you can guarantee it. No reason to feel bad about it though, it happens to everyone its just most people don't realize it. If you want to make yourself feel better write a letter to the sales and/or general managers of the dealership and explain to them just what you explained here. Call and ask who they are first because most dealers have seperate sales and general managers for new and pre-owned. I bought my Lexus over the internet and I will never buy another car the traditional way. I haven't bought a lot of cars (2) but the first one I bought along with my dad in a dealership 7 years ago and I always was around when he and my mother bought cars. He's a salesman too and I remember what a horrible experience buying a car always was, he knew right where to look and he never failed to find some way they were trying to screw him and we always left the dealership in a huff. I think thats why I do what I do now, I saw a need for an outside perspective on how these dealerships handle their customers and recognized that car dealerships could be SO much more profitable if they would just threat their customers like people. When I bought the Lexus I drove them and the competition extensively and always told the salespeople that I wouldn't be buying and refused to give them contact information. I decided what I want and contacted the two Lexus salespeople I had dealt with and liked and the Internet sales manager at another dealer. I told them what I wanted and what I would pay. Ordered the car, gave a credit card over the phone, the first time I set foot in the dealership was to pick the car up and do all the paperwork. Great experience and I will always buy a car that way. Internet buyers are savvy and knowledgable and its hard to manipulate them over an email. They always want you to call, don't call. Keep it over email.

If you paid Lexus all that money for a brake job they definately should not squeal. Take em back.

Zymol is a funny product. I've never used Zymol but I know a lot of people who have and most of them aren't as impressed with it next to other neauty waxes like P21S or Pinnacle Souveran. Zymol is almost a "status" wax. They have a line of waxes that costs literally thousands of dollars a jar in their Estate line and they're sold by luxury car dealership which gives the "appearance" of being a great wax but when in reality there are many as good or better. Is it worth a try? Sure the Japon wax isn't terribly expensive.

My 2006 Gx470 Total Redesign Out In April 2005

OH okay, I thought you were saying they were coming out as 06 models, that makes sense then. I'm aware about the addition of Lexus in Japan. -
Where did you hear that? Nothing changed between 2001 and subsequent years, its the exact same system.

Windshield Wiper Blade Replacement Refills
SW03ES replied to RX in NC's topic in 99 - 03 Lexus RX300
Maybe it has something to do with the increased air pollution here vs there degrading the rubber or something. Don't know but I've never had good luck with the Bosch blades. -
Windshield Wiper Blade Replacement Refills
SW03ES replied to RX in NC's topic in 99 - 03 Lexus RX300
I can understand that. I have Bosch blades on mine now and they've hit their end after about 4 months whereas the original Lexus blades lasted a full year, which is longer than any blade I've ever tried. What sucks now is I have to buy the whole wiper assembly from Lexus now to get the Lexus refills, I should have kept the old blade assembly... God... I figured I'd call my dealer who usually has pretty good prices on parts (LOL, not the $20 a quart dealer, I stopped using them when that service advisor left, he probably got fired for stopping them from !Removed! people) and they have the inserts for $15 for the drivers side and $11 for the passenger's side and $9 for the rear. Now that just shows you, lexus-parts has the rear insert for $3 , so the normal dealers mark up that part at LEAST 300%, as lexus-parts.com has got to be making a profit even at $3. They also price my blades at $41 driver and $38 passenger. LOL, maybe the Bosch ones weren't as bad after all... If you're going to go aftermarket I'm using Triton Teflon blades now on my Explorer and find they last longer than the Bosch blades. They're also refillable whereas Bosch blades aren't nowadays. PIAA has a new set of blades out now that are $25 or so each that are supposed to be excellent. Maybe I'll try them before I fork out $80 for Lexus blades. Good luck! -

Where did you get that information? There's a couple problems with it as it doesn't fit Lexus' design philosophy. The LS in particular is on a 5 year production track, meaning the new LS would come out as an 07 model, not an 06 model. We should see one more year of the current design in a special edition (Coach, platinum, SportDesign). Same is true of the ES. They just refreshed the ES for 05, I'd bet my life that they plan to get 2 years out of that refresh just like they always have in their history, meaning the current ES will run in 2006 again with a special edition. And if they plan on waiting 5 years on the LX, they may as well just cancel it. -
Windshield Wiper Blade Replacement Refills
SW03ES replied to RX in NC's topic in 99 - 03 Lexus RX300
In all honesty, and I've tried almost all the wiper brands out there, the Lexus refills are the best. Don't know why, but even the Toyota ones don't last as long and don't wipe as well. I've tried all of them, Bosch, Aanco, everything sold in those Pep BOys type places. They all work as well at first, but the Lexus blades definately outlast all of them. Why don't you try finding the refills somewhere online without Lexus' markup. Lexus' markup on parts is insane (300% in some instances) I've told the story on here before about Lexus wanting to charge me $20 a quart for Mobil 1 synthetic oil. Thats $100 for oil! Even the service rep was so shocked he cut the price in half to $50 ($10 a quart) and then subsequently never charged my AMEX card for that, so they gave me the oil free. Sewell Lexus (Lexus-parts.com) has the refill for the rear at http://www.lexus-parts.com/partlist.asp?Su...D=44&ModelID=85 for $3.33 they don't list the fronts but I'm sure they have them, just have to call them (Ask for Darrel Diller, he's our contact at Sewell) I'm sure they're similar in price. Honestly, the Lexus refills are better. They're not worth $30 just for refills but they're worth having them shipped from a wholesale retailer. -
No but I'm sure some VINs aren' effected by the recall.

Not to step on your toes but as leather cleaners and conditioners go Meguiars isn't fantastic. It has a lot to do with the fact that: A. The products clean and condition in one step. Whenever you buy a product that does two things at once (for any purpose, not just your car) it will do niether of them as well as two specific products. Thats why hairstylists tell you never to use combination shampoo/conditioners. B. They're too thick to be effective. Modern leather is coated and this coating is a plastic material with little holes so the leather can breathe. The cream conditioners like from Meguiars are so thick they can't seep through these very very small holes to get to the leather. So with a cream conditioner like Meguiars you may be softening the COATING but not the leather underneath. Thats why products like Lexol work so well, the conditioner is thin and its a two part system.

I'll throw this to the LS for you Monarch.

You shouldn't be worrying about him, he's the one who should be worrying about you. That was extremely rude of him. It would have been rude if he were to have lit up a cigarette let alone a pipe of pot. I have a serious dislike for anything smoked, I think its just nasty. Cigarettes, pot, cigars, whatever it just turns my stomach. I was only in a similar situation once in college, we were all at a party for a group of us that were doing a project for a class and two of them went down in the basement and smoked pot. It was so disgusting the rest of us were standing out on the front stoop, how rude was that? Anyways don't worry about the test. There are several places pot stays in the body, actually several places it stays forever like in your spinal fluid and believe it or not your hair follicles, but it fades from your urine and blood within a week.
