  1. I like it too, big improvement over the front end of the current car. I actually like the current RX from the rear...
  2. So sorry to hear about your loss! Really tough. I never knew either of my Grandfathers but I lost one of my Grandmothers about 13 years Go and my father last year, it's hard and unfortunately it gets harder before it gets better. It's a wonderful thing that you've had your grandparents and parents in your life as long as you have...we'll be thinking about you guys.
  3. Unbelievable! What you have to love is that you can tell how poorly its built right from the pictures...
  4. The CT200h is selling very well. I see a good many of them around here.
  5. I don't see how someone can like the A4 and not like the A6 and A8...its the same styling language, and I think lt looks a little stubby and frumpy on the A4...
  6. i think the new Audis are VERY attractive. Their designs are very simple and elegant, which I like. The A6 isn't as attractive as the A8 (which just might be best in class in my opinion as far as looks). But the A6, A5, A8, Q5 are all very attractive cars I think.
  7. And the price is just one part of the issue, the other issue is poor resale meaning high initial price + terrible resale = extremely high cost of ownership.
  8. I would think it would fit, but I'm not 100% sure. One thing to bear in mind. In 05 they changed the color of the interior controls to a lighter silver color. So hike your part might plug into an 05 or 06, it won't match the rest of the interior.
  9. Haha! Happens to me too. I tried turning it off but then I really looked dumb! You go settings, general, keyboard and the option is in there.
  10. I would, and I think you'd be surprised how many others would as well. Why do you think they went from an I6 to a turbo 4 with engine idle shut off on the 528i? Why do you think they brought back the 6cyl 7 series and S class? There's a big demand for cars in this price point that get good economy. .5 seconds to 60? I bet you would never even notice the difference especially in the hybrid with all that low end torque. Actually every review I've read says the handling is a huge improvement. Still not a BMW, but very close.
  11. Yeah the Ultra Luxury model, not really a special edition. They still make it.
  12. I just completely disagree. I know the previous bangle model (yours) was very controversial and is not very liked in a lot of BMW circles, but I always liked it. But, I think the new one is a HUGE improvement in every category. In fact, I think it's one of, if not the best looking sedans on the road right now, and I will seriously consider one in 2013 when my lease is up. I think that may be a case of forum members who have the older model just preferring theirs. I've read opinions on BMW forums from non 5 owners or owners of older 5s who say the exact opposite of what you've said. The 4 cyl in the 528 is a little questionable to me too, but I'd get a 535 so it's really not a issue to me.
  13. Congrats! Yeah make sure you have 2 keys, wheel lock key. There was a new nav update that came out in October, worth a shot to see if the dealer will do that. No BT audio streaming on the '09 I don't believe... Congrats! Its a great car...
  14. Yeah consider the source. Kind of like asking a bunch of Computer engineers what they think about different pieces of farm equipment...
  15. Sorry for attributing the wrong quotes to you LEX... I forget what the special edition is called...I don't think its called anything but "special edition" LOL. I see what you are saying in the pictures, my point was that in person when you actually sit in each vehicle they both have very different feels, different angles, etc. It brings up the point...how different can these layouts be? If you have a big screen up high by the windshield for visibility controlled by a controller...where can the A/C vents go? Where can the controller go where the ergonomics work?
  16. The Sport Design wasn't that rare, I see them around. There was also a "Black Diamond Edition" in 2006.
  17. I agree, drive your truck. Thats what you bought it for ;)
  18. Its a great car, I love my ES. Yeah the ES you saw was the "special edition" for the 2012 model year. That saddle type interior is HUGELY popular right now. I like it, but it'll be outdated in no time. Thats the F Sport model. Lots of people have wished they would come out with an F Sport luxury model with the styling and performance upgrades of the F Sport, but with nice wood trim, etc. The luxury model is VERY nice. From a styling perspective my biggest problem with the GS is the front end. The sides and back are bland but attractive, it just looks like the front end of another car pasted on to me...and the front bumper looks like its missing the lower cowl piece, especially on the F Sport. The E Class, 5 series, and A6 are much more attractive IMHO, but it looked better in person than in the pictures. The BMW leather is likely not leather unless its on an upper end car (550 or above). Its "Leatherette" which is why it feels that way. If you sit in the BMWs that have the Nappa leather option, its much better. You can get it optioned on the lower cars, but they usually don't ship that way. Same for Mercedes. This really *BLEEP*es me off, when I buy a $50,000 BMW...I want it to have leather...standard. Paying $1,500 more for it is just an insult. This is really not true. I have had several Lexus sedans, two of which have upwards of 200,000 miles. The leather looks great. My ES350 has 27k on it now and is 1.5 years old...leather is light cashmere...and it looks great. It just requires some care, as all fine things do. See, I really didn't feel that way when I sat in it. The layout is similar, but the angles and proportions are VERY different. I didn't think they felt similar at all once I was sitting in them. I liked the MKS too...I just couldn't spent $60k on a Lincoln.
  19. Its nothing real exciting. If I were buying one today, I'd probably buy it...
  20. Actually, it still is. You have to price out the competition to similar feature levels, the $60k GS350 includes the luxury package which includes active contouring front seats, rear seat audio like the higher level LS's, heads up display, adaptive cruise, pretty much fully loaded. Its still $10k cheaper than a comparable 5 series or E class. Yes, believe it or not a 535i or E350 gets to $70k quicker than you would think. The GS350 is even cheaper than the M37 when you option them similarly. I'm not saying I would buy one, I still think the 5 series is *the* car in this segment and I would rather have a slightly de-contented 5 to a more loaded GS...but there is definately still value there.
  21. No such thing as "Freddie Mae".
  22. You need to reset the sensors. Mine are all 30 with no problems. The ES is pretty old, the next generation will show the pressures.
  23. Actually no, it's equipped a lot like our cars but the price is like $40,800... They always do a little special edition the last year. It's no different than the sport model, the black diamond odel, the platinum or coach editions, etc.
  24. You have to see the new GS in person, it's much better looking in person. Not as good looking as the new 5, but better interior IMHO
  25. For only $178 labor if let them do it but that's me...
