  1. I like it! That is a much better looking wheel than what comes on the RX. Actually thats how its supposed to be. If you look at all the new Lexus vehicles the leather on the wheel is perfectly smooth with no grain. Its buffed so its extra soft. If you actually drive one of the new cars with the buffed steering wheel leather it does feel VERY nice. Way too much time on your hands though ;)
  2. Its pretty tight...wouldn't work for you I bet.
  3. Depends. If you drive within the mileage constraints and always would upgrade to a new vehicle every 3 years, leasing can make sense even if you don't get a tax break. Its a way of mitigating the depreciation loss. If you did the math on leasing for 3 years or buying the car, paying interest for 3 years, and then trading it in and the resulting depreciation loss, leasing is usually cheaper.
  4. Yeah sounds like Rain-X. As opposed to using Rain-X I recommend claying the windshield from time to time...
  5. I know! I thought the LaCrosse was fairly awful. No competition for the ES thats for sure.
  6. You can do that...but its probably not necessary.
  7. Reliability for a Cadillac has never really been the issue. In my experience the issue was more body rigidity...the engines and transmissions are very reliable.
  8. What in the world is it?
  9. Here's some more info, the UL has the triple stitching as well as some different color options. New nav screen is LED, XM NavTraffic & Weather, all the features listed below and almost a price drop...great value... And my favorite color, Truffle Mica!
  10. I love it! Huge improvement over the previous car IMHO. The interior is so much classier and expensive looking with that trim. No LED tails which is a bummer, but I like the exterior too, even the wheels although the UL has better looking wheels. You are correct, no triple stitched leather, and no wood over the rear vents. I wonder if that car in China was a UL? Maybe the UL has that trim and the wood over the vents? I would buy this...can't wait to see one in person. The steering wheel is the same steering wheel...only the buttons are different. Thats actually not a grey interior I don't think, I think its the almost white color like on the ES. I love it! I like light interiors but hate light carpeting. People ALWAYS say that on websites...the car will do fine don't worry.
  11. That may be true for the time being, but I bet you the next Camry will pretty much incorporate all aspects of the current ES. (Usually the car companies forge ahead with the new designs in their luxury divisions first.) At which point they will continue to devise new technologies and refinements for the new ES. Technology moves ever forward. All you say is true, but it doesn't change the fact that the ES has an entirely different interior and exterior from the Camry, as well as different suspension tuning and engine and drivetrain tuning. Buddy of mine has an 07 Camry Hybrid...the ES is a much smoother and quieter car and has a MUCH nicer interior. On top of that its a better looking car with a better warranty. And you may say you did not mean to be offensive...but your post was meant to be offensive regardless of what you say. Just read it over again, Jainla's post was not offensive.
  12. Good! I like being right ;)
  13. Their reliability has really improved as per JD Power and Consumer Reports...
  14. Thats probably my favorite too...although the 04-06 LS430 has really grown on me and the LS460 has really grown on me too. My dad had a 98 LS that I loved...thats what originally got me into Lexus.
  15. The newer ES's are a lot more differentiated from the Camry than yours too...
  16. Yeah its incredible that it doesn't just fall apart! ;) The 07 UL I sat in yesterday with the black had 40k miles and seemed to have held up pretty well. I know what you mean about the auto tilt wheel, I REALLY miss that on my car. I like the color of the wood with the ivory in those pictures of the 2010 350...better than the orange. I can excuse the orange for the ivory interior, it does kind of go together. What I have never understood though is why they put the orange wood on the grey interior for the 05-06?!? that just doesn't work at all!
  17. Must be the hamsters...
  18. Tone and delivery on the Internet is not very easy to get across. Smilies help... What color interior does your friend's mother's ES have? They added that orange stain wood to everything but the black interior in '05...maybe thats your issue. Mine has a deep red cherry wood with the black interior. Mine has the black interior and wear isn't an issue, in fact I think black wears better than the other interior colors I've had. The dark car with the black interior does get hot...but no hotter than the Prius which is the tideland green with the tan interior. The starfire/black would be fine.
  19. You weren't accelerating up the hill. You were driving on a highway that included uphill grades. The car doesn't know you're on hilly roads...it knows that you're traveling at constant highway speeds...thats all it knows. The hybrid system is a low speed benefit...not a high speed benefit. Are you interested in our expertise in this area or just arguing with us?
  20. Really?!? Wow...thats a very rare car... Yeah my SAT antenna is on the rear shelf too and works fine.
  21. Come on...legally blind? Thats rude. Theres a difference between voicing your opinion and being rude. I don't think it looks like a Buick...outside maybe...but the Buicks it looks like came out after the ES. The inside looks nothing like any Buick. I was at Lexus of Rockville today hoping they might have a 2010...no luck. They did have an '07 UL with the starfire and the black interior which was sharp and rare. I like the 07-09 interior in the grey like yours better than the black I think...not having much wood makes it way too stark in the black. Speaking of Buicks I sat in a new Lacrosse today, the new "ES350 fighter". Okay...but I was underwhelmed...lots of fake Buick "wood" all over the place.
  22. I was at Lexus of Rockville today while they took 3 dings out of my hood, roof and trunk...(long story). They had a SPOTLESS 2000 LS400, white with tan interior for $14k...room to deal I'm sure...It was in really good shape...
  23. What he said...the electric motor has a lot of torque that helps in acceleration but isn't much use when cruising. Also bear in mind the car doesn't really know what kind of road you're on, that its going to be a hilly one with opportunities to recharge the batteries.
  24. Does your car have the panoramic roof? I've never seen an ES with the ML that wasn't a UL...
