  1. Search on how to remove the cluster, it should be easy after that. <_<
  2. Independent site? Not hardly. It's owned, administered and moderated buy a bunch of specialty lube and additive salesmen who don't have to make sales calls to industrial businesses anymore because nowadays they can all just sit at home at their computers and run the forum to generate consumer sales of $25 a bottle additives, $7 a quart motor oils and $200 oil filter bypass systems. They also kiss up to Walmart's Supertech labeled products because they hope to convince Walmart to someday start buying and stocking their specialty products. ← Again, this is all conjecture, show some proof! I hardly believe your little conspiracy theory. As they all seem to agree mobil 1 is the best oil. Walmart's supertech oil filters are made by champion labs who makes almost all the better oil filters out there. They're also quick to point out that walmart could change suppliers at anytime, so be careful.I hardly find this kissing up to Walmart. Also the supertech line of filters didn't score the highest, however were deemed the best value for the dollar. If you're going to make stuff up, which you seem to be really good at, at least do the research.
  3. If you really want to learn about oil, spend some time doing some research on this independant site. oil tests
  4. DOT 5 synthetic brake fluid has been available in the USA for more than 10 years. In the official Toyota Technician Brake Systems Training manual, Toyota acknowledges the existence of DOT 5 and DOT 4 Brake fluids, but recommends only the use DOT 3 fluid. And the brake master cylinder reservoir cap of all Lexus brake systems says "Use ONLY DOT 3 fluid" Although the boiling point of DOT 3 fluid is lower than DOT 4 fluid, DOT 3 fluid preserves the life of the hydraulic seals in the brake system better than DOT 4 fluid and that's why the makers of the most durable cars in the world (Toyota/Honda/Nissan) all recommend only DOT 3 fluid. Durability is not a priority with the European and American car makers so it's no surprize some of them recommend DOT 4 or 5.x fluids. ← As i said in my first post DOT 5 is garbage, not even used in Europe anymore. I agree with the DOT 3 & DOT 4 points you've brought up. However, you've really said nothing about 5.1 . I don't believe Mercedes or BMW thinks that durability is not a priority nor would they use something that wouldn't provide maximum benefit or be compatible in their brake systems. Unless you've got some facts to point to with 5.1 not being compatible or causing problems then their is no discussion. <_< ← It was another member that brought up dot 5 brake fluid.....I never mentioned anything about it. ← That's why this reply was meant for VGR, I don't see LEXUSFREAK anywhere in this reply? <_<
  5. SEARCH! 10 " fits or a 12" If you drill new mounting holes

  7. Synthetics are so new and DOT 3 has really been the only thing available in america. Dot 5 the first synthetic, which is garbage was available and the standard for awhile in england and overseas. However with the new advances like DOT 5.1 which is standard on the new mercedes or BMW's. You can't deny the new synthetics as you have no proof to make statements from nor do the auto manufactures. <_<
  8. The brakes DO NOT use the same fluid! I use Amsoil in the diff and power steering. Mobil 1 in the engine and toyota fluid in the tranny. Used synthetic for the brakes w/ stainless lines.
  9. yes it is indeed ← Well there is no "disable programming" . My 93 GS300 retracts when playing CD's as well, however, I have an aftermarket deck. If it's working properly, then there's not alot you can do. I don't remember if it supposed to stay up the entire time the radio is on or not. Other than replacing the radio, putting a switch in, or possibly paying or finding someone to build you a circuit to retract the antenna. <_<
  10. What does an AMP have to do with CD playing intermittently???
  11. It's not hard at all, you're looking at about $10 for the bulb from lexus. It's a little time consuming. If you're interested I do an LED conversion to your existing bulbs. Email me or PM me if you're interested. <_<
  12. Thats the way I've always done it(auto). The drop in volts will be the same in your car, no matter how you turn them on. I've read it's only bad to turn them on and off rapidly. There really shouldn't be a drop in volts too much. Is the drop with the car off? If the voltage is low to your HID's it can result in early failure of the ballasts. Search! SK posted some info on the voltage drop and the ballasts. <_<
  13. You could try a filter either on the antenna or defroster or maybe try regrounding the antenna AT THE REAR window ground point if there is one! Last suggestion you could also wrap the antenna or derroster wires in copper tape to reduce or eliminate EMI and RFI noises. <_<
  14. I agree as well! Turbo......dude, I gotta ask you, where did you get that Nissan Honda image thingy? That just made my whole day!! ROTGLMAO!! I want to get something like that but with Lexus Vs. BMW or Infiniti lol.......how did you do that? :D B) Or anybody else know where I can find something like that? Had to wipe tears away! :D ← Thanks! I have Nissan 300zxTT and one of the guys on our boards found it. :D I'm sure anyone who's good with photoshop could make one up that says LEXUS/ BMW.
  15. I went through about 3 different 12's to find one that sounded really good. They all were an improvement over stock. The best sounding one was the one that had the largest VAS. <_<
  16. CD optical cleaners are a joke. It has be pretty dirty for one of those to work. It's probably on its way out, you might try a professional cleaning as a last resort. <_<
  17. No need to post, unless you just wanna show it off, as we've all seen the engine B)
  18. Minus the turbo's, of course B) :D ← that's why I mentioned the 2JZ-GE engine code 2JZ-GE = NON TURBO 2JZ-GTE= TWINTURBO ← I know that, but the poster might not have <_<
