  1. possibly, call or take it to the dealer and ask :whistles:
  2. If you have a stock car with just the stock accessories, go with the red top. If you have a stock car with mild accessories (amp, subs, lighting) go with the blue top If you have a stock car with lots of amps or hydraulics, go with a blue top up front and a yellow top in the back with an isolator and a upgraded alternator. Even though SK uses the yellow top for the main battery, I did the same thing in the begining. It's not really recomended if it's a deep cycle for use in a starting application. A deep cycle is designed to be discharged continously hence the lower internal resistance, When used as a starting battery it is continously being asked for large amounts of current and then recharged, never really deep cycled, so they tend to become conditioned and not last as long. 3. it's NOT a good idea to turn up your dimmer to full brightness on the older GS's. As twinturbo and I do, leave it at about half way, it's more than bright enough in our cars. The most important reason to NOT turn them up full brightness is that in the older GS's those bulbs put out ALOT of heat. I recently put LED's in mine and all the bulb bases were brown and brittle from the heat. The MOST important reason not to turn them up all the way is it can lead to early needle failure from the heat created. The needles are NOT cheap! B)
  4. They use those bad boys on deisels so your little v8 is no ptoblem
  5. Sure, for about 5 or 6 thousand <_< Go talk to the guys at toyo west they're probably the best around town.
  6. Well, those 2 extra cylinders would sure give you that boost in hp :P
  7. The numbers are coming from our knowledge of the car and the time most of us have spent searching for the right car and the right price. B)
  8. Alot of times the cables won't reach because the terminals are on the opposite side if you turn it around. <_<
  9. first of all nobody pays retail, unless you're just dumb. I think 10 to 11 is the max I would pay for a 93 to 94 gs300 w/ over 70 thousand miles. You may have to wait to get a GOOOD DEAL! You'll have to do alot of checking as well EBay, classifieds, auto trader, whatever. If you just want the car go pay full retail. The LEXUS is more of a luxury car compared to the avalon. You can't go wrong either way. The GS also uses toyotas inline 6 2jzge probably their best and strongest motor, whereas the avalon uses a v6. <_<
  10. SWEEEET, Cost you a little, but at least you know it was done right and you won't have any more problems. <_<
  11. I have an optima on all my vehicles, you need the red top reversed 800R <_<
  12. performance as far as .............? B)
  13. I'm still using JDM, I sent the defective one off last week and am waiting for it to be exchanged and returned. B) We'll see how it turns out.
  14. I'm in the same boat as you man. My previous HID set went out also, it was the drivers side both times. Also after about 4 to 6 months, my previous set had the external starter and thats what went out. So, I then bought the JDM's and it lasted about 3 months. I'm thinking I should have just bought the phillips or catz kit. I have them on my other 2 cars and NEVER have had any problems in 2 years. <_<
  15. Thats BS man, if DRL is bad for the HID's then why don't the factory LEXUS HID kits go out. Or the phillips kits or the catz kits. Yes, they are on more with DRL , however a good ballast shouldn't burn out from it. Also yours lasted a year like that, mine lasted 3 months with NO DRL!!!! You should find the DRL fuse in the engine compartment.
  16. Ha!!!! I bought the same JDM 8000 kit as you off EBay! I JUST sent it back because my drivers side ballast started flickering and finally went out after 3 MONTHS!!! I do alot of night driving. My ballast smelled like something electronic had fried inside. They have a 1 year warranty on them. I think they're just cheap ballasts. We'll find out!!!! The difference between 10 amps and 15 makes NO DIFFERENCE, if it needed 15 amps the fuse would blow. <_< Daytime running lights are NOT the problem either. SK his have been working for a year so I don't think the ground is the problem, although it doesn't hurt to check. Mine did the same thing after 3 months. Probably because I drive alot more at night then he does. I think we may have just got some cheap ballasts.
  17. Depending on how cheap of a kit you got, a bad ballast could be it. Try everything on the drivers side if it works fine then check wiring for corrosion or bad connection. B)
  18. Just when needed. I run the temperature between 65 and 69 rear round so the compressor is running all the time. If you turn it up to 70 it mixes the ac with the heater to blend the temp, I believe. <_<
  19. Any time the AC is on you're affecting gas mileage :whistles:
  20. So you installed a whole new kit? ballasts and wiring? I'd check voltage at the harness from the car to the ballast with the headlights on, make sure it's steady. If it is you got a bad ballast. Try switching sides :whistles:
  21. THats about an average price for the car, nothing special. Although I haven't seen any pics. Make sure the 60. 000 mile service was done(timing belt, water pump, cam and crank seals) I think you should also know that around 100, 000 all fluids need to be changed, 02 sensors (3 total), radiator will most like start leaking, lower control arm bushings replaced, all hoses replaced, cap, rotor , plugs, wires, throttle body cleaned. The warranty is great, however, they will only fix whatt breaks, not what needs to be done. So plan on spending quite a bit out of pocket for routine and preventative maintenance. It's a great car, you just have to keep it maintained so it will give you maximum performance. You're just buying the car near a time when a lot needs to be done. I guess it's better than buying one that you don't know what has been done or if any of it has been done. <_<
  22. What year? 1993 How much? $7900 Miles? 80,000 Private seller or dealer? Used car lot. normally I would never buy from a used car lot. HOWEVER, After talking to the owner and finding out the history and seeing how clean the car and motor were. I had to buy it. :P
  23. you may have to remove the arm and realign it B)
