  1. High is fine, low just allows it to get hotter. An air bubble can cause over heating as it's a pocket of air. How did the system get emptied? Is the cap bad? Is the top hose firm when running? becareful of letting that thing overheat too many times, the top and bottom tank are plastic and can rupture or crack. Is the fluid dirty or clean. Have you flushed it. if it overheats again turn the heater on max low to help cool the engine down.keep us posted. B)
  2. Thanks DJPILL, Since then I've redid the deck mount with a kit and put the center channel in the pocket :D I bought the dvd changer mostly for multiple MP3 disc playback. I don't have a screen hooked to it. I've played DVD's on it when I first got it, however, I haven't played any DVD-R's or +R's yet. The specs say it doesn't, I'll let you know if they're wrong.
  3. Timing belts on the newer GS are 90 thou or 7 years whichever comes first, the older GS are 60 thou or 7 years whichever comes first. We need to know exactly what is being done to know if the price is too high. Around the 90 thou or 7 year mark here's what should be done or have been done in the past, timing belt, tensioner, water pump, thermostat, new fluids(tranny, brakes, power steering, differential) possibly new hoses, drive belt, plugs, (fuel filter, plug wires, cap, rotor if it applies), engine flush before switch to synthetic, engine and trans mounts inspected, vacuum hoses inspected, radiator flushed. Steering and suspension inspected <_<
  4. Did you turn the heater all the way up on low after changing coolant? If not you got air in the system. B)
  5. Because it's for the IS, they do make one for the <_< GS.
  6. It's amazing what you learn by using "search" B) If you're referring to the small wedge bulbs 194 is the size, took me 3 minutes.
  7. I believe most of the newer vehicle have the door switch built into the latch mechanism. It's very unlikely they both went out, it's too much of a coincidence. I'd check to see if the wire was cut. I don't believe it's a cbest setting. Most time the switch triggers a module which turns on the lights. So the switches may not show any voltage or very little. <_< B)
  8. [Amsoil is just fine for the engine, however, I'd stick to toyota T-IV for the tranny. Amsol is compatible with the toyota transmissions, however, the T-IV is specifically designed for toyota transmission. Any competent lexus shop can do the flush. However, if you have any independant lexus shops you may save a few dollars. B)
  9. Make sure you tap the brakes a few times with the neg disconnected, to drain any small amount of power stored in the caps. I don't think the radio code will even come up unless it's been reset by another owner to something other than the last 4 of the vin. B)
  10. Correct, however, it doesn't mean the top of the door can't still be a problem <_<
  11. First you need to make sure it's the seal and NOT the door itself. <_< My GS3 does the same thing, it's not the seal it's the plastic surrounding the window that's warped ever so slightly. Common problem, solution is to replace the plastic, expensive, or get a set of the JDM window vents.
  12. I believe most of them take 9 quarts, I would purchase one or 2 extra quarts, so you have some extra <_< You're taking it to a shop to have it flushed?
  13. WOW, maybe yours was replaced? My original pioneer sub(non-nak) is a 2ohm sub. So you'll be fine with the 4ohm. <_< Actually mines for a GS3, I noticed you have a GS4, so it may be different, hmmm! It won't make any difference with an aftermarket sub and amp.
  14. I'd say list it and see what kind of responses you get. If you know you can fix it properly for $700 then offer to sell the car for $700 less if they want to have it done, provide new owners with signed estimate from the shop. Or if they want to have you take care of it all. Inform them that you will have it repaired after they've paid you. <_<
  15. first check the voltage to make sure the battery is good and the alternator is charging, then check the wiring. Check also for corrosion in the wires as well at the battery. Does it shut off when the lights are turned on, if so you may have used an illumination wire for a ground? Ground directly to metal. <_< Is it the sound only, or the power as well? If it's the sound only you may have a blown speaker or just incorrectly wired it.
  16. There's 2 other 02 sensors that could cause the CEL to be triggered. You should replace them as well. Once you get it fixed, clear the codes by disconnecting the battery and stepping on the brake with it disconnected. You'll have to drive the car a little bit after your done so the ECM can relearn your driving habits. <_<
  17. 96 I believe had a recall for ball joints improperly lubed and breaking. Inadequate lubrication is the main reason for failure. if you get new ones, try to get ones with grease nipples this way you can keep them lubed, if they don't have the nipples they're designed be replaced when worn out. <_<
  18. $25 for a filter??????? Are you serious???? You need to do some research on filters, if you're willing to pay $25 for a filter that says TRD on the side
  19. You should be okay with that wattage B) If you get a new set I'd put a clear rock guard over them to protect them in the future
  20. Were are you getting your new skins from? ← leatherseats.com :D
  21. Guy, yours looks a bit brighter. If you look at the top of the gauges it's definitely darker on dead's gauges, could be the camera. B)
  22. My new skins will be here in about 2 weeks, I'll post pics of the old and new and you can decide if you're interested. B)
