  1. GS400 INJEN INTAKE 92-95 <_< LET ME GUESS!!! Now you're going to want it for the 96 and up? :P
  2. The flush was easy to do on my 93 gs3. I have an evacuator it's about $30 at harbor freight.com or you can do a search for it online. I would first use a good quality power steering flush first. I used LUBE GARD PRODUCTS for flushing. Basically, you disconnect the return line to the power steering tank and use a hose coupling to hook the evacuator to the line you disconnected. Use a rubber or plastic vacuum cap to seal off the metal return line in the power steering tank. Pump up the evacuator and it will suck all the fluid out of the system, i used clear tubing for a short length so I could see when the new fluid was running through. Keep the reservoir filled with new fluid till you seen new fluid flowing into the evacuator and you're done. If you don't want to use the evacuator you can also do it by running the line you disconnected to a bucket, however, it's alot messier that way and requires two people. Disconnect the coils so the engine won't start and Bump the motor over to drain the fluid out and keep the power steering reservoir filled until you see new fluid. Easy as apple pie either way
  3. [Yes, the long bolt is skinny and only holds the starter together. The front of the starter is where it bolts to the engine block or tranny, and where the gear would come out, if you could see it or had it out of the vehicle to mesh with the engine.
  4. The manual only has sketches for this task and they're a little hard to distinguish any detail. Both the bolts should be in the front of the starter, and should bolt onto some part of the engine block. 6 and 11 o'clock look about right <_< The bolts are probably the same size. Make sure not to remove the long bolt holding the starter together . The 2 bolts you want are in front of the long bolt.
  5. The service manual shows only 2 bolts, looks like they're using an extension w/ a swivel on the end that allows almost a 90 degree bend B) It's being removed from the bottom.
  6. The window whipers, not to be confused with the whippersnappers. as the whippersnappers only come on at about 3am to 6am and are only available as part of the "CRAZY JAPANESE" stereo system. The primary purpose of the window whipers is to discipline the car owner when he makes a bad decision or choice concerning the car. If you've recently purchased your car with a "BOMB !Removed!" stereo system and didn't opt for the "CRAZY JAPANESE" system or made some unscrupulous choices concerning your Lexus, BE WARNED and WATCH OUT FOR THE WINDOW WHIPERS!!!! NEVER bend over near your windows or you'll be in for a rude surprise from the window whipers!! :cries:
  7. It sounds like you have the "BOMB !Removed!" stereo system and not the "CRAZY JAPANESE" stereo system. The "BOMB !Removed!" system is one step below the "CRAZY JAPANESE". In America we only get the "BOMB !Removed!" stereo system or the slightly more popular "Mark Levinson" stereo system. You would have to go to Japan and buy a Toyota Aristo to get the "CRAZY JAPANESE" stereo system. I did some more research and it appears I left out some very important information!!! In 2000 only 10 GS300's were imported to America with the "CRAZY JAPANESE" stereo system. It appears and this is very hush, hush, so I'll trust you to keep it a secret. The 10 cars can be identified by a CJ1-10 on the end of the VIN #. These 10 cars were part of a test market. It was found out later that during the importing of these 10 cars that the long boat ride from Japan, and very mild American climate had a calming effect on the "CRAZY JAPANESE" stereo systems and they were no longer as crazy as the manufacturer designed them to be. It was quite a shock to the designers, they didn't know what to do?? So for the rest of 2000 the designers went to great lengths to find out how to keep the "CRAZY JAPANESE" systems crazy. It took alot of NEW IDEAS and many months of brainstorming and MANY failed attempts. Finally in 2001 the Wuxi Joyray International Corp moved it's MANUFACTURING plant to JAPAN from CHINA. The plant was constructed across the street from the TOYOTA DESIGN CORP or TDC. TDC discovered quite by accident one day that the plant across the street was the answer to all their months of brainstorming and failed ideas. So armed with this new knowledge they set about to create the "CRAZIEST JAPANESE" stereo system ever made. Armed with only 10 tubes of "crazy glue" from the plant across the street, TOYOTA created a monster, it was the "CRAZIEST JAPANESE" stereo EVER!!! The "CRAZY JAPANESE" stereo system used a total of 9 tubes of "crazy glue"!!!! The final 10th tube was used for the window whiper option The "CRAZY JAPANESE" stereo system with window whipers turned out to be too crazy and it was never brought to America! We received a slightly less crazy 5 TUBE "CRAZY GLUE" stereo system, however much crazier than the 2000 "BOMB !Removed!" stereo system. The biggest disappointment in the 5 tube "CRAZY GLUE" stereo system was the lack of window whipers
  8. Thats a great idea!! Didn't even know about it <_< Although if you're planning on doing all your own maintenance, the service manual for about $100 will pay for itself very quickly. B)
  9. Do you use batteries or plug it in? I've heard it's alot more sensitive if you plug it in to the lighter or hardwire a cord in! I had the original solo and I was not happy with it, I got a WHISTLER (walmart one) cause it was cheap and as a joke. that thing picks up every cop around B)
  10. I have one it's in great shape, it's a pioneer! :D You have to ask your self some questions! Do you want more bass, or do you tend to turn up the bass alot? Do you listen to techno or rap? If so you'd be better off replacing the factory sub with a free air type 10". You can do a 12 if you drill new holes in the rear deck to mount to, or make a plate to mount from the bottom. I woud also add an amp if you're going to replace the sub with an aftermarket one. B)
  11. No! You can put whatever you want in there, however, the manufacturer designed the setup to work with the yellow foglights as the HID's are more than bright enough. <_<
  12. Yep, first mistake I made was buying one of those "CD Manuals" off of EBay!
  13. I'd go with whichever one offered the best warranty! <_<
  14. I'd go with whichever one offered the best warranty! <_<
  15. I am with the understanding that once the program is installed on your computer you run the program off of a cd . These manuals are quite thorough. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...me=STRK:MESE:IT ← Ummm not!!! They suck, not very informative , only basic info! Go with the service manual you'll be much happier. <_<
  16. Yes, if it's blown it sure can <_< Sometimes it will still play until the bass is turned up.
  17. Actually the next logical step would have been a bad subwoofer <_<
  18. Probably needs to be cleaned or the laser assembly is on it's way out.
  19. Amp could be going bad or a speaker could be going out. Low voltage! Could be any number of things <_<
  20. Turbo, Where can I get the solenoid repair kit from (Toyota or Lexus)? Is there a kit number? ← I doubt toy r lex would carry it as they don't repair, only replace. it's on the same page as the autozone link, you can get it from them. <_<
  21. I gave you all the info you need to remove the starter, rip it out and go from there. The cheapest I found is here, you can buy it online for about $120 autozone starter or you can buy just the solenoid repair kit for $20, if thats the only problem. or you can get it at www.toyotaandlexusparts.com for $220 B)
  22. but were afraid to ask <_< Great info from JD at SH.ORG HID guide
