  1. They were quite big actually lol :whistles:
  2. Oh geez, I hope not. Let me see what I can do. Under control now. B)
  3. I guess I should have mine changed to Subifreak. But I might be back in a Lexus down the road so it's all good. :)
  4. Another vote for these Michelins......they are becoming more popular with Subaru owners too (mainly turbo models) & have been impressed with several friends vehicles I have driven. Fairly reasonably priced too. B)
  5. Yup, one of the most popular tire sites around. ;)
  6. SW is correct......winter rubber compounds have the ability to be much more flexible in extreme conditions & have a completely different treadblock set up specifically for the different conditions many of us see in the snow regions of North America (ice, snow, slush etc). The result is much better traction & more importantly better braking than all season (some call 3 season) tires. A more harsh ride & reduced fuel economy (one always get poorer fuel economy in the winter anyway) is the down side. The Nokian WR is a very good balance between AS & winter (sever snow rating right on the sidewall) but by their very design they are quite a bit more noisy than most AS tires......there is no getting around that (just look closely at the tread pattern). The good news about the WR is you can get it in an H speed rating! B) My wife & I personally do not have the $$ nor the storage space for 2 set's of tires each....that is why we both have the Goodyear Triple Treads on our Subaru's......I will consider this tire (or it's replacement which should be coming soon as the WR has been available now for a number of years) when replacement time comes.....at least for the wife. ;) More info here on the WR... http://www.canadiandriver.com/articles/hl/nokian.htm
  7. I've heard pretty good things about the Sumitomo HTR+ owned by the same company who make Falken's. Not a bad price at all. B) After all my experiences, I too will never own Bridgestone's.....no matter what. ;) I've heard decent things overall about this tire too & also attractively priced...but not sure what size your looking for. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?ti...Tech+M550+A%2FS
  8. If your looking for an excellent summer high performance tire......the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 should be on your short list......The Yoko you mention is not rated very highly overall. More info here... http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?ti...=Eagle+F1+GS-D3
  9. Actually they are made in Canada. :whistles: ;) In the 225 60 16 size....they are H speed rated to boot. An excellent choice!
  10. Did you consider the new Yokohama ADVAN S4? More info here... http://www.yokohamatire.com/advan/default.asp
  11. You a Bad Azz nc! lmao
  12. Had to go to Partsource for washer fluid this morning (same as your Pep Boys or Autozone) I was the only customer in the store & the manager saw me eyeing wiper blades.......he gave me 50% off for 2 sets of Bosch Micro Edge Excel blades.....an offer I couldn't refuse. (he had Trico Innovisions.....but agreed that many customers complained about winter performance as the ICON's & the like). B)
  13. Check this out lol.... http://www.hammerandcoop.com/# I'm Buzz Saw Hurricane!
  14. Anyone have experience with NAPA brand? B)
  15. Looks like it's coming time to replace the OE battery in the wife's 03 Forester (group 35). Although the OE battery has never let us down......it is starting to show signs that the time has come for replacement. Not terribly impressed with it's performance to be honest (only 450 CCA). When I bought my ES a brand new OE battery put in & was dying when I traded her in so......OE one's I think I will pass on. Looking for suggestions.......considering Optima & Odyssey....but they are way too expensive (close to $200 each up here!) & frankly for our needs, I feel they are overkill & have heard almost as many bad things ( about Optima's mainly) as good. We are not hard on our batteries & have run down protection. Looking for a maintenance free, quality (good warranty that will easily last 4 - 5 years) replacement with good CCA (say 600+) at a fair price (I will be putting the same in my Turbo Forester too soon after). I've got Die Hard Gold north, Interstate 'mega tron' & perhaps Napa on the list.....but I don't have the most up to date CR battery ratings (latest was in Oct 2006....my subscription started Jan 07...figures ). I've also heard good things about Kirkland (Costco brand). I am requesting all good suggestions. B) I appreciate the help everyone. :)
  16. Yeah I'm not feeling the new styling at all either.....was quite disappointed.
  17. Yeah, I hear what your saying Steve. B)
  18. Two Subaru Forester's.... 2003 XS 'regular model' for the Wife 2006 XT 'Extra Spicy' (Turbo) mine. :D Both loaded.
  19. There's the Lexus in the show! Jack's Father has an LS 430. They should have put in the new LS I think.....but. ;)
  20. The Michelin Pilot Sport A/S is an ultra high performance all season tire......they will be very expensive in the 18" size......and being a quiet tire is not that models speciality at all.......but a good all round performer. B)

    What If?

It's been my experience that 'new car' dealers make a pretty good chunk of change (more than new vehicles actually) from their used car dept. ;) As for the parts......I agree, I think it's 10 - 12 years they must stock parts for.....something like that.
  22. I personally don't have any experience with Kumhos. I have however heard very bad things from tire dealers and other people I've talked to, and in fact I had two seperate tire dealers refuse to mount Kumho tires on my car for liaility reasons. One agreed to sell me the tires unmounted and one refused outright. SO, I'd steer clear. I concur.....stay clear of Kumho......they are not highly rated on my Subi site either.
  23. You are correct sir! B) Nicely done. ;)

    What If?

Not suprised......and that's in U.S. funds too! lmao
  25. Lexus wants almost as much for their blades at the ICON's :chairshot: Found this site however.......apparently they are $14.95 at Walmart! B) http://www.michelinwiper.com/index.php
