  1. Personally, I doubt very much that not many (if any) folks are going to try any of these so called 'mods' on a newer ES (say 2000 & up) that is still under factory warranty (I mean, someone is going to put an 'under tray' made out of plastic sign material on their brand new or nearly new ES? I don't think so :whistles: ) That's just one example (I don't feel like writing a novel today lol ) These ideas maybe decent of older ES models no longer under factory warranty & for those that want to tinker with them, but you won't get many folks in the newer models to even consider it. :whistles:
  2. I use to use Castrol too......good stuff! B)
  3. Lexusfreak, was the genuine synthetic oil you saw motor oil or differential oil? For USA bound vehicles, Toyota & Nissan are starting to install synthetic differential oil at the factory in the rear axles of rear wheel drive V8 powered models. However, they are still using and recommending conventiional oil in the motors. ← VGR, it was Toyota synthetic engine oil.......the stuff was sitting right next to the dino oil in the parts department. B)
  4. I guess if they have something that works, why fix it! ;) that's why toyota/lexus makes such good cars. All the bugs are out of them... ← Well not all, but most lol ;) :whistles:
  5. Perhaps it's a question that can be better answered as time goes on due to the fact the 400h has only been on the market a very short time. :whistles:
  6. I had the same thought den! B)
  7. It's quite the fleet indeed! B)
  8. lol LS.......I didn't think this would be such a big deal The both of them pretty much perform the same function.
  9. Welcome. B)
  10. 2006 LX will have more HP & TQ too. B)
  11. It's correct that the RX shares some of the Camry & ES underpinnings, but it is a 'modified' version of the platform, including a longer wheelbase & other variables so the turning radius will be different. B)
  12. Not going to touch that. ;) I have had enough of dino vs. synthetic oil debates (do a search seaduck if you want to find out more info) so it's a long & drawn out broken record. :whistles: All I will say is that I was in a Toyota dealer the other day & they had 'Genuine Toyota Synthetic oil' in their parts department.......intresting. :whistles:
  13. Here you go..... :whistles: http://www.ftc.gov/opa/1996/07/slick.htm
  14. lol, I hear ya sw.......& yes that's why I posted the second 'link' because that car showed the 'Camry' logo.......not sure if I beleive it yet though......the pics are of very poor quality so I guess the jury is still out until we see 'official' photo's. B)
  15. There one in the same to me as both terms are pretty much used interchangeably.
  16. Keep us posted as to what the problem turns out to be.....perhaps more member will weigh in as other possibilities however in the meantime. ;) Hate to tell ya btw, but the new generation ES is larger & has quite a bit more interior & trunk space compared to the 92 - 01 ES...... B)
  17. Why not use Denso Iridium plug's as most on this forum like and work very well? To me putting in a cheap plug in a $35K car is well, crazy. Buy the best you can since it is a Lexus, not a ford! :) I am not by anymeans disrespecting ANYONE here, but you want a novice to take apart a throttlebody here? Little more complex then a fuel filter my friend. Hell, I most likey would not even try that unless I HAD to. Lets try the simple and less complex things first. "Must start out small grasshopper" .:) ← I have to agree with you mburn! For a little more complicated service like that, I'd leave it up to a qualified tech to do. Just my 2 cents.
  18. It's possible bart.....& I haven't heard of this problem either Caramellady. Where did you have the car towed? Lexus dealer or your mechanic? AI hope it's not an astronomical amount to correct the problem.
  19. Hi everyone, Here is a link to some spy shots of the next gen 2007 Toyota Camry......not sure if I beleive it however (pics are a bit 'cloudy'), but here they are. :whistles: http://www.carspyshots.net/zerothread?id=15380 &..... http://www.honda-acura.net/forums/showthread.php?t=191036
  20. They both perform pretty much the same function anyways so who cares?:whistles: ;) Whether you call it one or the other, people will know what your talking about. I always call it a Moonroof myself. B) If it's the daytime, it's called a Sunroof, at night....a Moonroof so it's both. :whistles:
  21. For those intrested.....keep in mind prices are in Canadian dollars. B) May 30, 2005 2006 Lexus LX 470 receives more power Toronto, Ontario - Toyota Canada has announced that the 2006 Lexus LX 470 luxury SUV will be updated with new safety features and a refined new look, and with the addition of Variable Valve Timing-intelligent (VVT-i). This will boost the 4.7-litre V8 engine's horsepower from 235 hp to 275 hp, and torque from 320 lb-ft to 332 lb-ft. Other changes include a redesigned front grille, new 18-inch alloy wheels, new LED rear combination lamps, and a new tire pressure monitoring system. Pricing for the 2006 model is $101,400.
  22. Welcome to the club. B) Are you saying you can't even get the fuel nozzel into the fuel tank 'filler neck' to pump gas because it's blocked by something so when you squeeze the nozzel handle it keeps stopping because of the blockage? You can see nothing that is blocked when you look down into the filler neck?
  23. Cool, I have a Toyota V6 Hemi! lol :D B)
  24. Might also want to try an auto wrecker or salvage yard. B)
  25. In addition to changing the fuel filter which is a good idea, when was the last time you changed the spark plugs, spark plug wires, had a fuel injector flush & changed the air filter? They will all help improve fuel economy. B) Also make sure tire pressure is correct. ;)
