  2. I made the purchase. i deceided to go with oem brakes and pads from http://www.irontoad.com/ i think they had the best prices by a couple a bucks. $232 all in. chriss
  3. do you know if they last as long as the brembo rotors or do all rotors last about the same amt of time? kinda new at this sorry for the way rookie question. Chriss
  4. I am thinking about getting wagner rotors and brake pads. Does anyone have any comments either for or against getting them? many thanks, Chris
  5. how did it turn out for you? is the iavc the other black unit on the throttle body. i know one is the TPS. thanks, Chriss
  6. Just got my haynes manual now i can be more specific. My 2002 ES300 started to idle high on first start. about 1200-1400 rpm. i had read that it may help if i spray throttle cleaner into the butterfly valve of the throttle body. after i did that the idle went up to 1800-2000 rpm at start up and then eventually slows back to the original high idle of 1200-1400. i have read that some people here have had good results cleaning the IAVC. i can not find any info about the IAVC in the haynes manual other than a brief mention and no info on where it is or how to remove it. Chriss

  8. I had heard that i could go to a toyota dealer and get brakes and rotors for the same year Camry. Is it true that these would fit my 02' es300 just as well as getting the parts from lexus. Chriss ps ordered the haynes manual yesterday..thanks
  9. I forgot i have a PEP BOYS near me and i think an Auto Barn as well. Do you think they have what i'm looking for?
  10. Just a few last questions.. BTW i do a lot of town and highway driving. 1)is OEM a manufacturer name? or does is stand for "other equipment manufacturer"? if so who should i look to for pads and rotors. remember i'm looking for best quality lowest price(we're in a recession). 2)who has a favorite website (and could you post it) where i can get brakes and rotors. 3) do brakes and rotors need to "match"? ALSO, THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HAVE HAVE REPLIED TO MY INITIAL POST. I APPRECIATE YOU ALL TAKING TIME TO PASS IT FORWARD. Chriss
  11. Here's the thing. i want to start changing my own brake pads. i know nothing about brake pads (good with machines though) except some are ceramic and can have a percentage of metal in them...i think anyway, i'm a big fan of a good value for the money. what's most affordable and works fine/better than fine? Any suggestions are appreciated. Many thanks, Chris PS any idea why my steering wheel shakes like a !Removed! when i slow down on the highway? brakes again?
  12. Jeff! I have a 2002 ES300. i have been wanting to change my brakes/pads by myself for a year now. can you post the link that gave you the best info maybe pics too..please. Chris
  13. never mind.. i had to push DOWN the passenger side wiper arm to reset the 2 stage wiper transmission. and then adjust the arms accordingly
  14. Hi All, I just got a used 02 es300 and love it. however, one thing that is driving me crazy is the sweep of my windshield wipers. The sweep range leaves a distance of about 8 inches from the drivers side pillar. if i adjust the arm angle at the attachment nut i can get closer to the pillar at sweep. but the arms rest higher on the windshield at the resting position. this goes for both wipers(both have the correct size blades installed) is this a linkage issue? is there an (easy) adjustment. many thanks in advance, Chris
