  1. I've never had this come up. My Lexus tech admittadly takes good care of me though. If I call him ahead of time and let him know I'm coming in, he has a loaner sitting right in front of his office for me. The length of my service visit has never been a question. And it was my understanding that the loaner program was for their benefit also. Letting you take the loaner takes alot of the pressure off to get your car done right away. With you able to continue your day, they can pretty much get to your car when they can as opposed to when they have to because the customer is in the lobby waiting.
  2. Actually, the IS does have double skinned wheel wells. I'm not sure about other Lexus models, but I have a guy that fixed a small ding on my well and had to drill the tiny hole in the flashing to insert the push rod to remove the ding. He did a great job, and the ding is completely gone, but we talked about it as he was doing it, and he did mention what a PIA BMW's are also.
  3. I can't beleive they didn't say anything to you! That's just soooo wrong! I just can't imagine that some doctor or medical staff person would be able to live with themselves. Spineless! On the brighter side, atleast you know about it now, and can do something about it. I hope all goes well for you. We are dealing with cancer in my family as well right now. I truly hope you don't have that to have to deal with.
  4. Congratulations! Looks like an IS lover to me.....LOL!!
  5. Just curious, what do you guys make of this? 2004 senate committee meeting
  6. Welcome to the LOC! I haven't heard or seen any done on an RX before. I know it's been done on the IS models, bith the 01-05 IS 300's and the IS X50's. I can't imagine that the bulbs would be different, but I can't confirm that either. When I get to my other computer, I can send you some of the info I have.
  7. Here is a discussion just recently about changing the battery on the remote. Battery replacement As for the alarm, is it the factory alarm or an aftermarket alarm system? If your really concerned about the alarm going off all day and killing the battery, then maybe when you get to school, just disconnect the negative battery terminal until you can get it to the dealership for repair.
  8. No, no turbo kits. In fact, they used to have a Tom's supercharger kit, but it cost 6K, and only pushed 5 psi for an extra 40 hp. So, as you can imagine, I think they sold 2 kits to the entire world, then discontinued it.
  9. Those Spyders look great! I actually wanted those on my IS, but I was already spending a bunch of cash as it was. Is that a satelite radio antenae on the side of the trunk? Why did they put that there? I would agree with gs350cruz and say tint the windows and then move that reciever to the window or someplace alot less noticable. And have you thought about painting your brake calipers? That would really help set off those new rims. Maybe paint them gloss black and put white Lexus emblems on them? Or you could paint them the same color as the car and put black emblems on there, or bright red to give it that race ready look? LOL!!! I somehow don't think that would suit you though. And of course I would get coilovers and drop the car so the tires fill up the tire wells a bit more. I think we had a discussion before where you mentioned the road conditions where you live are not that great, so maybe do a subtle drop rather than slam it. Car looks good though. The rear visor look is a great touch.
  10. I don't think those will work. Your gonna have to check to make sure the brake calipers clear the insides. You've lost an inch of width and about 3/8 of an inch on the offset. I would take the exsisting wheel off the RX and just put one rim on and give it a hand spin to make sure it clears the calipers. If it does, then you should be fine. You won't have any rubbing issues on the tire well as you haven't really changed the size of the tire other than being an inch thinner. The tire size you have, if it's the same then it's the same and will fit on either rim. But remember that the wall of the tire is going to be tucked in more, which will make the sidewall more spongy feeling. You might want to go to a 225 or 215 to maintain the same ride feel. And if these are for snow tires, then you actually want a thinner contact patch. If you go to tirerack.com and just enter the inforamtion there, they can tell you the size and aspect ratio that will maintain the same diameter tire for you.
  11. Let me just put up that I'm more spouting my frustration at this whole thing. I can't beleive that no one saw this coming and even more unbeleivable is the fact that nothing was done before we came to this. It seems they have all the security cameras and alarms in the wrong room of these banks!! I know this package has to be put thru. It just erks me that all the politicians are acting as our saviors and doing us all a favor by really trying to oversee "good stewardship" of taxpayer money. Seems to me they should ahve been paying attention and doing that all along. I'm just frustrated guys, and gals. I own a business. I have employees that rely on this business for thier livelyhood. This whiole thing just really stresses me out. I'm nervous about next week, and next month.....and so on....
  12. Just put one of the on the side of your car. Just tell him to shoot to kill anyone who even looks like they might ding your car!
  13. jcrome, that sounds great! If someone was standing at the corner with thier eyes closed, as you drove up, I don't think the LS is what they would even closely imagine is rolling by. Nice! Curtians and neck pads? What rims are you looking at?
  14. That kit is discontinued. Ltuned makes one that looks real close that is polyeurothane and fits like OEM. But it's $800.00 for just the front bumper. I can get you a Vfiber one for less than 300 bucks.
  15. The only issue I see is that you will probably need to replace all four to "match" the ride. I can get you Tokico HP struts, fronts and rears for under $400.00 if your interested. Brand new in the box with a warrentee. I have other brands also, but those are the stock spec replacements.
  16. I don't know, I keep thinking about this and I just don't see how it's an "economy saving" package, and not a "Wall Street" saving package. I understand how the credit system works. If we have to save these companies, then they should be sold to the American Taxpayer and become our property. Why should we just give them free money for being idiots? Who's gonna bail out my company if I sell to a bunch of people that can't pay me for my products? I think then that all the profits form these newly acquired companies when this all starts to turn around should be handed out in the form of tax breaks and repayments for allways ever after. The private sector is just to greedy for these types of mega conglomerates driven alny by dollars and profits.
  17. What year LX do you have?
  18. Happy Birthday NC!
  19. Someone correct the math if they want to go into the exact dollar, but if there is say around 305 million people in the US. All of which are not over 18. So, why not give us 1 million dollars each, which would be less then the needed 700 billion dollar bail out plan! I'd pay off our mortgage and stimulate the economy with a few nice purchases to boot!
  20. I saw your post yesterday, but I needed to wait until I get to my home computer with the better speakers. LOL!! I thought it sounded pretty good before, so if you like it even more now, I can hardly wait to give it a good listen. Which sound clip do you think sounds the most accurate? And what else are you planning for the LS?
  21. On the 08' and 09' models, the trac control button is the VDIM button. After you start the car, press the trac button and hold it for a few seconds until the VDIM light comes on the dash as well. Now you have completely turned off the VDIM and traction control system. So if you just press the trac button and the trac light comes on your dash, you have only turned off the traction control system. IF you push the button and hold it until the other light comes on also, then it's completely off.
  22. From your description, I would consider the alternator your issue. It contains the regulator also. Try swapping to a new alternator which should fix the battery dying issue also.
  23. In the past I used the silicone tire treatments that gave it that great shiny wet look, but quickly became disenchanted with the mess it leaves and the whip off all over the side of the car, and not to mention that it never lasted very long. So I looked around some and started using Zaino's Z16 tire treatment. I really like the fact that it isn't overly shiny, and seems to be more of a water base treatment and does last a good while. But I'm about to run out, and seeing as how I don't use the Zaino line anymore, I really didn't want to just order that 1 product from them. I was going to try some of the Griot's stuff they have, but I started thinking that alot of people here probably have the same issues and may have found some other products that work really well also. I'm looking for something that lasts a good amount of time especially because we have alot of rain here in Florida. So it can quickly be washed away before the car ever needs to be detailed again. I like the shine, but even a satin or natural would be good also. So, what are you using and how do you like it?
  24. I didn't add the GS 37X because it's a coupe. Which to me is a completely different car. I was simply shocked at the design strategy of the new TL. Seriously......what engineer at Honda/Acura looked at the finish product of this model and said" Oh, baby...this is hot!!!" ???? I think the Hyundai line looks way better than the new TL!! The front grill looks like a smiley face! and the rear end looks like a 1998 Acura CL crashed into it! I liked the looks of the TL-S before.
