sorry, probably would've helped to mention this is not on my LX but my friends car... it's a 97' ES300

the rear struts are blown and it costs $500 for ONE from dealer. that that's w/o labor. I am going to change them out myself but does anyone have any idea if it would be ok to go with aftermarket struts that DO NOT have the "Adaptive Variable Suspension"? thx in advance.
