  1. But Flop your still running the stock catalytic converter in the down pipe. So the sensor after that cat still reads everything is ok. Bros, I would just go with what you have and do the install. then see if the cel comes on. If it does, then you'll have to do the spacer for that sensor. It's really just a heater wire and reads the temps. After you do the install, and if it comes up, and you can't find a spacer, then I would just go to a custom exhaust shop, and have them weld in a 1'' riser on that bung. Should cost you maybe 50 bucks at most. If you can find the spacer will save you like 40 bucks then as they cost around 10 bucks. But sometimes you have to do what you have to do. Unless you have a freind good with a torch and welder. ;)
  2. Look in the door handle, remove that screw. Slide a putty knife under the switch plate and lift it off. Then disconnect it. Go to the outer edge of the door jam. remove those screws. I can't remember if I had to remove the tweeter housings or not. I don't think I did, but then you have to take the panel in both hands and lift it upwards and off, be careful the door lever.
  3. None here with my 2003, or my 2005. I'm sure that trend should continue with the 2008 350 as well. And the 2002 IS 300 I'm looking at runs great and passed our initial check. NExt it goes up on the lift and I give it a full microscope.
  4. Yeah, I just bought an 08 IS 350, and they gave me a sheet listing all the personal setting I can have adjusted. So, I have 1000 mile check up they perform, and we go over the list at that time as to give me some time with the car first so I know what I would prefer. But yeah, they can change how long the headlights stay on for after you turn the car off, how long the dome light stays on for courtesy before and after the car is running, etc. etc. There's more also. I just can't remember all the changable settings. And like amf1932 stated, they are offer different options for different models. If you call your Lexus service tech, and ask them, I'm sure they will know exactly what is offered for each model by year.

  9. "Careful everyone, that's Flop 170 all over the floor and walls over there. It's not even on the table of elements, and once you get that stuff on ya, they have to completely decontaminate you and burry you in sand for 6 months! Not to mention the smell!!!"
  10. those are O'Douls. So go ahead and drink up!!
  11. Nothing outside of cosmetic. ( hence I didn't get any of the dealer rapesessories.) There is no performance after market for the 350, and no engine mgmt. at all. I really like the new darker rims also. And the new trac button when held in for 5-10 seconds disables the VDIM now. So the car is almost fast! In stock trim. This will be my everyday driver now. And the IS 300 will be trailored to the tracks now. My wife is much happier about it. That's for sure. She was kind of complaining about the ride being to stiff, and the car was too much of a hot rod now, and so on. And with me wanting to go even bigger power, meant that the car would be down for an extended amount of time, and then put on the track, so the little Nissan was going to be getting alot more street time. UUUhhh, not gonna happen. So, I went to the dealership and we played stratego, and I bought a new Lexus. I have to say, I really like the new IS 350. I'm very satisfied with it. I think it will perform it's duties very well. And when I want me ribbs pressed to my spine, I can allways bring out the monster for that. LOL!!
  12. Gumby (Damn it!!)
  13. So, I just finished selling off all the mod parts from the 05', like the turbo and intercooler and such. And the 05' just sold for (get this) $24k!!! Yeah, I know!!! So, I'm buying a black 02' IS 300 with the manual transmission, and 74k miles on it. For alot less!!! That car is going straight to the shop, and then getting dissasembled and race prepped. The motor is about half way done. And I have to get a transmission for it, new driveshaft and rearend. Then gut the interior and install full body braces, and a roll cage. Then basically build the car from the ground up. Yes, there will be plenty of pics as time goes by. It's just slow right now as some of this takes time to gather up and get rolling. We are aiming for near 1000 hp, and low 8 quarters.
  14. Hey everyone. Sorry I haven't been able to update this thread in awhile. But I have been very busy. I actually still am, but I thought I would take a little time to bring everyone up to speed. Ok, where to begin, alright, let's start with this: We would like to welcome our newest member of the Smooth family, A 2008 Black on Black IS 350

  16. Just bought a black on black 08 : I had the windows tinted 3 days after we got it. Down here in Florida, I think you have to tint. I went with 15% all the way around. Only the front driver side and passenger side are barely illegal, but oh well. I wanted to go with 5%, so I guess I compromised!! LOL!!
