I have the traction TA and yes they are noisy. I had the mich pilot and I thought they where just as noisy. It is called having a low profile wider tire.. you going to get noise. BP That's what i needed to hear. I was about to return these tires and get the michelin pilots. You probably saved me a few dollar$. If you lived in Louisville i'd buy you a beer, Thanks!

Throttle Problem With 98 - 99 Gs Series
scottelble replied to trand4's topic in 93 - 05 Lexus GS300 / GS400 / GS430
I thought i read some where that they idle high starting off to warm the engine quicker? I'm not a mechanic but it kinda makes sense. -
Maybe its b/c i went back to a gs from an LS. Does anyone else have 17"goodwrench traction t/a's? I thought it was my wheels bearings so i replaced both in front. I'm STILL hearing a roaring noise...They seem to perform terrific but this noise is irritating! Am i alone? I'd love to here from anyone who has these tires and hear their opinion. FYI- They sound fine on this LS430 but that's kinda apples and oranges. Thanks, and Happy early easter everyone:)

Strange Rubble Noise?
scottelble replied to rhwimmers's topic in 93 - 05 Lexus GS300 / GS400 / GS430
It's almost 4 sure a wheel bearing... That roaring noise is annoying! I just had my left front done, only to discover the right was bad aswell...The bearings tend to pit over time. -
How Much Are You Paying
scottelble replied to hammerdown's topic in 93 - 05 Lexus GS300 / GS400 / GS430
I'm 30 and have always paid cash since 2001..If at all possible always pay in full! Remember kids: The quickest way to get on your feet is to miss a few payments...The repo companies will make sure of it;) -
First, is it a master key (keyless entry on the head and works on trunk lock)? I have mine made through a locksmith. It may not have the "L" symbol on it but for $40-$80 i'm way satisfied! Good luck;)

i appraise used cars for a dealership in louisville. Anyway, one day while taking in a trade the guy who owned the truck(suburban) showed me a cool trick...When he put on the parking brake and had his parking lights on aswell, he hit the door unlock button three times and the F**king passenger airbag popped out to reveal a hidden drawer...It was some james Bond stuff!

Silverstar Headlight And Oem Parking Light Help
scottelble replied to MikeyLS400's topic in 90 - 00 Lexus LS400
I looked all over for "white light" replacements for the parking lights also, but no luck...What i did do though is replace them with amber colored bulbs so they match the orange marker lights and turn signals....That ugly yellowish light just stands out in a bad way. -
You're in luck my friend...I got someone i've used for years and he's in louisville also.I Just had my driver (96' ls400) done last week. He charges $100 and does work for most of the tint shops on preston hwy, for a sizable discount from what you'd normally get quoted else where. P.m. me and i'd be happy to give his #. P.s. i work on Preston Hwy for a dealership but your welcome to stop in if you get in the area and wanna check his work out for yourself. Hope this helps!

I saw some aftermarket headlights on a 95'-97' Ls400 that looked like euro style projection lights....I liked them alot but can't seem to find them (ebay, google, etc.) Has anyone else seen these lights? If so do you know where i can get some.....

I picked up a 96' ls400 for an extra daily driver. great car, but the headlight aim is a pain in my a$$. I did a search but it started talking about drawing paper diagrams and placing it centered w/ the car so on & so on........It didn't come w/ an owners manual and the two adjustment points i have found do not seem to move the beam.I'm looking for a shortcut alittle simpler than the answer i found thus far....A little insight would be very appreciated! Thanks in advance;)

my CD changer only wants to play brand new cds, but it won't play burnt ones. This is a first....Has anyone ever used a cd with a lense cleaning brush on their changer? Does it work at all? I'm wondering b/c i've only used them on single disc players, but not a cd changer

So i've been a LS400 fanatic for about 7 yrs and after owning 4 of them i decided to try something different. I hope i'm not dissapointed with the change over. I had a gs3 and liked it but it felt underpowered to me. Someone reassure me;)

my old 98' gs3 did the same thing....if you open the hood stand on the passenger side and look along the back firewall...if my memory serves me correct you should see it with no problem. It just looks like a rubber hose about 4 inches long sticking out. . They tend to get clogged over time. I pulled it out to clear the tube and water POURED out. As a person who has someone else change my oil, i would defidently consider it a D.I.Y. job....No ramps or even tools were nessesary. I think it was just held in by a rubber grommet. It's been a year ago but i remember it was a piece of cake;) Happy hunting!

Recommended Tires For The Ls400 '94?
scottelble replied to Imzjustplayin's topic in 90 - 00 Lexus LS400
I just put michelin mxv4 plus tires on two weeks ago......If you truely enjoy silky smooth noise free driving check them out. You get what you pay for. Someone told me i was crazy for spending so much on tires but my reply was "the dollar store sells high top tennis shoes for $15....But if you want quality you'll have to shop @ footlocker" -
If it goes click, click, click repeatedly it's more than likely you're battery is just spent....If it just makes ONE click, but after several attempts starts then you may have the starter going out.....I hope it's the first one! good luck! p.s. have you checked to make sure no lights were left on after exiting your car? Just a thought
