  1. ...or the girlfriend!! No, it could've been worse.....I was just venting b/c i can't stand mismatched tires so monday i'll be be purchasing 4 new ones. It just got me a little heated since they were still in great condition!
  2. Because i drive 20,000+mi. a year and (knock on wood) have never got a flat. My girlfriend managed to get one for me in 3hrs:( Guess i needed a small reminder not to lend my car out. Atleast a 5th wheel spare made my day alittle easier!
  3. I will defidently look in to it for you. There is also a place here called ABP(auto body panel) 502-473-7300 that deals in aftermarket parts..... fenders, bumper skins, etc. I will happily price check it ,if it's available. As far as price your guess is as good as mine? Tofu, do you only need the skin, or is it smashed b/c you'd be amazed at how well a good bodyshop can fix damages most would consider unfixable(just a thought;) Anyway, i'll let you know what i find. Scott Scott, Yes, I only need the skin. My bumper torn up pretty bad beyond repair. Tofu, i checked ABP, and they said it was dealer only:( I will call the junkyard tomarrow and see what i find....Cross your fingers;)
  4. Generally, when a dash light blinks as you're describing it's actually a diagnostics code. The number of times it blinks and the pauses inbetween each blinking sequence will tell a mechanic( who knows what he's doing) what's going on.

  6. Doesn't surprise me a bit My father-in-law has a 92 LS400 with 550,000 and is still running like a champ. Obviously WELL TAKEN CARE OF/MAINTAINED. If I told all the details you wouldn't beleive me............ B) It is a 15 year old story. 550,000 miles ........That's what i'm talkin about!!!
  7. Exactly......What he said If you use normal P/S/F you're liable to have it sound like Chubacka from Starwars!
  8. This reminds me of the old slogan about boats..... The best boat is your buddy's boat... you get to enjoy it, he gets to fix it! Actually, I think these days, except for MB, most cars are pretty darn good in general. LOL.......Way off the subject, boat ACTUALLY stands for B reak O ut A nother T housand. Anyway trying to compare Lexus and BMW is like apples and oranges...they're both great cars it just depends on your personal taste. Louisville has the right idea by marrying the two brands under one roof! I'm a LEXUS F**CKING FANATIC! My co-workers seriously think i need theropy i enjoy LS 400's so much. Everytime i get to demo the used 100K mi. 96' we have have on the lot the other saleman roll they're eyes because they know how much i really enjoy turning new people on to the driving perfection that outweighs a 20k mi. damn near anything! "it's just a Camry with a fancy logo" they say. Then i have the joy of telling them drive it.......And come back and stand corrected;) To say i will NEVER own a beamer is like saying i'll eat Chearios everyday for the rest of my life though......Ok, maybe with REALLY sweet strawberries or something!
  9. No problem, always willing to help when its possible. If it's just a scuff mark a good buff will work for now i'm sure;)
  10. Bob, they have one at that # I left, but its a entire rear bumper assymbly and will run $500 +shipping. Its gold in color so your looking at painting it aswell. Hopefully the damage isn't that bad but worst case senario its there. Hope this helps, scott
  11. try calling 502-363-2674. Ask for mike mclain. They are a reputable auto salvage that is fair on price and they ship ANYWHERE. Tell him i told you to call;) I believe they have a 98'-00' thats hit in the front. It's worth a shot! good luck!
  12. I sure hope it's not dying out! 331 views and ONLY 8 replies makes you wonder though.....I log onto this site just about every night wondering who posted what. Let's ALL do our part to keep this site thriving with interest!!!
  13. On a 98'-00' LS how much will the wheels rub if mounted to stock suspention if at all? I had 20's on my 98' GS and didn't have much problems. I'm contemplating it! Also do you have any issues with steering wheel shimmys at 60-70mph? That drove me nuts and took three times to get the balancing correct. I know LS400's are very steering sensitive and i haven't went bigger than 18's on one yet.
  14. Is there a date set? Or a link with info, directions etc? I can't wait!
  15. No, but since the weather has warmed i haven't heard it in over 3 weeks so it was defidently cold weather related.
  16. I'm very interested in a LOC gathering, and am cuious about when/where/what date if there is one? Even just a "Lexusfest" (what a cool name for an event) would be great! I could sure use a good excuse to get away for a weekend:)
  17. It's not that because i had my TB/WP/TP done about 1000mi. ago. Again it was only occuring when it was bitter cold outside, so i haven't heard it in a few weeks being that the weather is now mild.
  18. Indeed, His is shiny and beautiful, but......Is that a scuff i see on the back passenger corner? Not bad i guess considering having that many miles! I'm IMPRESSED!
  19. But they WERE basically Lexus' weren't they, with the exeption of the emblems? I guess the people are just trying to achive the status symbol of the mighty L, maybe.....Interesting
  20. I'm thinking of purchasing new tires in the near future. Any suggestions for a quality tire with a very quiet and smooth ride that won't break my wallet too much. I can't stand road noise or vibrations so can someone please point me in the right direction! Thanks:) P.S. Anyone with Bridgestone Turanzas' give me some imput as far as ride n' drive experience
  21. Dole: When you bleed the lines, there should be a consistent amount of fluid that comes out of each line (relative to the others). If one just "piddles", then you could have a pinched brake line on that wheel. That will cause the caliper to drag on the rotor, which will cause the rotor to get excessively hot, which will cause rotor warping. After driving for a bit, stop the car, get out, go around to each wheel and feel the wheel. If any of them are hot to the touch (particularly after NOT using or lightly using the brakes), then you have a dragging caliper. The caliper can drag because it needs to be rebuilt or because the brake line is pinched. Whatever you do, don't let anyone talk you into buying new calipers. It's easy and inexpensive to rebuild the stock ones. Threadcutter, Would you please post the thread on how to rebuild your calipers....Thanks in advance!
  22. I was checkin out some Celsiors' and i can't tell any difference from the LS, other then it's right hand drive. So is that what you drive if you live in japan? I'm alittle confused?!? Would someone please enlighten me:) Do they even make them with the steering on the left or is that and the emblems the only change?
  23. So i was just surfing the net and came upon this little cornicopia of info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lexus_LS
  24. She knows i'm so knit picking about it she's too terrified to drive it;)
  25. Would you post a link please....Oh by the way SK, SWEET photo gallery!!! I checked it out earlier.
