  1. So what do you figure? Not to sure on the auto transmission loss as Lexus released figures on the 250 auto having higher mpg than the manual which bucks the norm. Is this because of the slicker change or is it down to a more efficient transmission? Would like to see some dyno results. :)
  2. Perhaps it is, as it hasn't got the BBS wheels on.
  3. I think you will be fine if you rotate with a little premium every once in a while. I wouldn't drop to regular though. As for me with the 350, my car will see nothing but premium. It great having 93 octane here in GA. In the UK I use 99 octane :) available at the local supermarket, BP Ultimate or Shell Optimax (which is 98 RON and the difference is noticable over 87 RON .....gives about 10% improvement on mpg..or just use the extra power available. BP also have 103 octane on retail at selected stations in the UK, but it's intended for race/track day fuel and performance cars need to be mapped for it. It's also priced at £2.50 a litre, (nearly $20 US per gallon).
  4. Merry Christmas Nico..I lived in Kongsberg for 14 months over 2005/2006 and also used to visit Larvik on a regular basis, but never saw your Lex, perhaps Prolex had it :whistles: . USA only has the IS300...but they do have the IS350 I'll have to wait for the IS-F to come to the UK Cool! :) Well, "Prolex-UK" did have my car for quite a long time, so I have not had it here for more than a month in total (owning the car for over half a year). What did you do in Kongsberg? Nico, I work for BP and we had a project in FMC, Kongsberg so was part of the BP site team there for a couple of years. enjoyed it but very quiet, except for the jazz festival of course
  5. The Eibach kit lowers the front 1.4" and the rear 1" and I don't see why it wouldn't fit the AWD. However, the AWD is the only second gen IS that has a means of adjusting the rear camber, so there is at least one difference in the suspension set-up. I'd like to know if the camber adjustment from the AWD will fit the RWD, as I may need camber adjustment after lowering my RWD. I think the adjustment is by use of 'offset washers', but don't know any detail.

  7. They (the OEM) are not available in the UK so I purchased mine in Houston, hand carried it home and fitted it myself. You need to drill three holes in the trunk... two 12mm dia and one 8mm dia. The paper template in the kit is pretty well foolproof for marking the positions of the holes, as are the instructions.....just make very sure you remove all the drilling chips :o or it's a recipe for corrosion in the panels. I used duct tape on the inside surfaces before drilling, also a large magnet to catch the drillings before blowing out with an airline. The instructions call for disconnection of the battery terminal, which isn't really necessary. The removal of the cover tapes rom the adhesive strips for the final sticking down is probably the most tricky part of the process, and of course you need to be brave to take a drill to the trunk ;) Good luck. IF you look at the Sewell, Dallas website you can find a copy of the instructions for fitting that comes with the lip kit.
  8. Put these 19" Volks from Ray's, Japan on mine :) The car's in the UK, not Houston...
  9. Hmm...because my home is in the UK (though I seem to spend most of my time in Houston) and the 350 isn't available there :cries: or the AWD
  10. You'd appreciate them where I live in the UK, but as you colonials only drive in straight lines I don't suppose they're very useful
  11. Yeah, and it scratches real easy. In a couple of years it's not going to look very good. :(
  12. I've got the Lexus one. It's great..very lightweight but waterproof and the fabric 'breathes'. I think Lexus get them made by Weathershield who can supply a greater variety of colors than the one available through the dealer which is only grey, but with 'Lexus' on the front of the cover and the bag. It's also tailored to fit around those elephant ears they call door mirrors.
  13. No scratches at all, but I do keep the car pretty clean. The cover is extremely light and very waterproof, the water just beads up and runs off of it. It' feels slightly heavier in weight than parachute material, apart from the fire resistant material that sits over the tailpipes and the clear plastic window over the registration plate . It's elasticated front and back with pockets for those big door mirrors which look even more like 'elephant ears' with the cover on. :D
  14. I've got the Lexus all-weather cover and it's very light and easy to put on and take off. The cover is attached to its bag by straps and is locked in the trunk when the cover is on to prevent unauthorised removal. I would upload a photo but the board Admin has disabled the uploads tempoarily for secuity reasons
  15. Those things on your car that slide across the ice on your windscreen/windshield :D
  16. quote name='PacND' post='191288' date='Apr 26 2006, 01:51 PM'] Does anybody have any good pictures of a 2006 IS 350 with either the G-Sypder or ISP-Mode aftermarket rims offered by Lexus? I'm looking to order an IS in the next few weeks and I want to upgrade the stock wheels and rims, but I haven't been able to find any pictures of the car outfitted with the rims offered by Lexus. Please post any pics that you might have. G-Spyder
  17. In Europe you don't have an option for Satnav with or without ML as it's all in the one 'Multi-media' package.
  18. Just to make you all feel better I paid $54,400 for my Smoky Granite IS250 SE-L in the UK. that's with voice activated satnav, bluetooth, reversing camera, ML system, full leather and heated/cooled seats with memory.
  19. Was that at Westside? I'm not very impressed after my experiences with them. There's only one guy in the Parts department I have any time for (Richard Crowe), as he's most helpful. In general they're more expensive than most, and when I queried the difference between their prices and those of Sewell Lexus in Dallas for a relacement alloy pedal set and ground effects kit, I was told that it wasn't the business they were interested in!! Presume this meant supply of parts to customers for self fitting. Also said they wouldn't fit the Ground effects kit as they had a bad experience in fitting one as a dealer option on a new 350. :( Wasn't an option I was interested in as my IS250 is in the UK :D
  20. Sewell Lexus on-line price is $79.00, but this looks as if it's for the accelerator and brake pedal. The accelerator is the complete unit including the lever arm, whereas the brake is just the replacement 'pad'. The aluminum foot rest from Sewell is $52.05. So on-line price of $131.05 + packaging and post presumably.
  21. I have just received a quote for the Ground Effects kit from Westside Lexus (Houston): Front - 08154-53830-B0 $559.13 Sides- 08150-53840-B0 $559.13 I didn't want to bother with the rear because I think it's a lot of bother for little effect, but the Dealer then went on to say they would supply but not fit as they had fit as a dealer option previously and found the parts required a lot of work to make them fit properly??? :o Also got a quote for the Lexus Pedal Sport Package: 78101-53010 Brake pedal $70.71 Accelerator Pedal $47.53 Footrest 58192-53060 $71.97 These prices seem a little high to me. Anyone care to comment?
  22. Smokey Granite Mica with Black Leather, no doubt about it. Incidentally in the UK it's the same colour codes but with different names, so my 250 is in 'Cadoxton Slate with Black Leather'. I think the US name for it is far more descriptive of the metallic finish.
  23. Are you going to be bringing a 350 to Europe then? We haven't got it here!!!
  24. UK has the IS200 in various models, including the Sport (lowered, LSD, 17" wheels, & tints), and Sportcross with manual gearbox. Also has the IS300 but only with auto box. New Models available are IS250 in various models including the Sport and top of range SE-L MM (Mark Levison sound system, voice activated Satnav & Bluetooth phone etc), and the IS220 diesel model. UK doesn't have the 250 AWD or the 350.
