  1. I saw this "thing" at the car show last Wednesday, and I don't like it at all. The IS is much nicer in a hardtop.
  2. Dang, I should've waited to get mine. I got it from the dealer and had them install it. They actually drilled holes to install it. I had a friend tell me it should only take double-sided tape to put it on. I wonder if it's the same quality as dealer, though? Instructions for the factory spoiler call for drilling holes.
  3. My heated seats have never been very warm, compared to other cars we've owned. And that's both IS's I've had.
  4. Yep, it was done pursuant to "guest states excessive front brake noise." I'm wondering if this will reduce the dust, or is that a different brake pad they put on for that issue? http://www.lexustsb.com/questions/197/TSIB...nt+Brake+Squeak This is the TSIB I found.
  5. I just called my dealer to see if they had replaced my brakes, and was told they were replaced, and no charge to me. I asked how, and my service advisor said they fell within a certain parameter of a TSB, and they were able to replace them for free. I'm not complaining! I have 39,000 miles on my car, and new brakes. I'm just wondering what TSB it was, lol..........
  6. I took my car in 4,000 miles ago, and was told I didn't need new brakes yet, there was 5 mm left. Don't know what that means. But the brakes have been squealing for a while now, and I"m getting sick of it. Hubby says it's not a sensor, that all brakes squeak. I will take it in, in another 1,000 miles, and it will be 39,000 at that time. .....
  7. I don't think the deal will go hunting for something they don't hear. I tried to get them to listen to my seatbelt rattling. Of course, it wouldn't rattle with them sitting in the car. I have a new one. It's the door to the glove box. I touch it, it stops doing the noise. And my seatbelt bolsters are doing their thing again. That danged 60 freeway is going to tear my car apart one of these days!!!!!
  8. I've had the occasion where I've left my car with valet, without the key. Once the car is turned off, it can't be restarted. I had to give them to key so I could get my car back. I imagine you could start the car and then lock it with the smart key, but I've never tried that option. I have an '07.
  9. My husband has already said there's probably no room in the trunk.......
  10. First, I've never had a key battery go. But I'm not one to keep my car long. I believe as long as you use the two interchangeably (use one for a couple of weeks, the other for a couple of weeks, back and forth), both keys will remain good for a couple of years.
  11. I do a lot of freeway driving. If I get the chance, I'll do all that other stuff, lol, but it's rare.
  12. The Potenza RE050s. I took pics today, but need to upload and blah-blah-blah. Later......
  13. Yeah, here in Southern California, I go to Crown Lexus (I know the service man's name, lol, and he knows me), and I can get a loaner for the oil change service. I tried Riverside Lexus once, and they wouldn't give me a loaner for an oil change. Guess where I went? I think it is the dealership's thing, and not Lexus. I'd be hounding the general manager of the dealership and giving him a piece of my mind. That is not service whatsoever. You're driving two hours each way, and the service takes the day. Is it warrantied service, or just an oil change? That would mean a difference, too, for some dealers.
  14. It's the same tires, Bridgestone Potenza. Well, I feel a different ride, and it is much nicer. Maybe it's just cuz my original tires had 34,000 miles on them.
  15. Except for double-skinned wheel wells, which I found out after someone created a huge ding in my BMW. Thank goodness Lexus does not have this. I mean, it's fixable if it's double-skinned, but it requires drilling, and repainting the entire back panel of the car.
  16. I went to the dealer, so most likely got ripped. And I have to pull out my invoice to get it exact. I paid about $4,000 total for everything that I got, including the labor and the oil change, lol. I think the wheels and tires were around $2,000. The chrome black lettering replaces the Lexus symbols in the back and the front, and the "IS250" and "Lexus" in the back.
  17. I purchased and installed the 18-inch G-Spider wheels (pictures to come later, cuz I got some other things done, too), and I have to say that the ride is much nicer. On the 17-inch, it was a lower profile, and I could feel every nook and cranny in the road. With the 18-inch, not as low-profile, and is a much better ride. Just thought I'd share the info if anybody is interested in doing this. And I got the spoiler and the dark chrome lettering. I couldn't help it.......
  18. I'm sure the backseat on that thing is virtually nill.....
  19. And IS owner's from the rest of the world aren't? He's saying "us," not "U.S."
  20. As a guy, maybe you shouldn't be so careless in taking the suitcase out of the trunk! ;)
