Anybody?

How do I get the scratches off what I assume is the clear coat on the wood panel? I don't think the scratches are all the way through to the wood, but I could be wrong.

Well, just got back from a weekend in Monterey, California, and the Laguna Seca Raceway and the Historic Automobile Races. Toyota sponsored some of the events this year, and the IS350 was the pace car for the races. I saw about 15 ISFs, all different colors. Man, what a car!!! Anyways, I wanted to answer Ri****en7's question about drifting. Um, yeah, them cars can drift!!!! :-) I didn't see the "350" on the back of the car, but I know that wasn't a 250 going around those corners!!! I wish they would've put the ISFs out there, but I think it would've eaten those 350's butts!!! But I do have to say, you really need to know how to drift before you attempt it. Just cuz you're driving a pace car doesn't mean you know how to race, lol! Some of those guys were all over the place! I now have a renewed affection for my car. I want a 250 manual next!!!!!!

I got mine the first week I owned my IS. Lovely indoctrination, if I do say so myself, watching that huge rock come towards my windshield and crack it. I got it to a w/s place, and they filled it for me. I forget how much it was, but it wasn't that much. And yeah, you can see where the crack was, but it doesn't spread beyond that. I had the car for about a year and a half, and the crack never grew.

I would loooove a GS!!! lol. Well, with the gas mileage, you can't go wrong with the IS250. I know the 350 gets less. The back seat, I've had some people tell me it's okay, and others tell me it's really small. I've has an over-6-foot guy sitting in the back, and he definitely was not comfortable, but it works. Safety is great on the IS. Believe it or not, it gets better ratings on a side impact that BMW and Mercedes. Yeah, even I was shocked. And if it's gonna be a second car for just hanging around, I think it would be a great option. I think it's a very reliable car. And I can't beat the service. That is one of the reasons I haven't gone to another car.......

dude hondas are reliable. but ya the dealer fixed it like it was nothin. Dude, my Lexus is just as reliable, if not more. Of course the dealer fixed it like it was nothing. I'm sure they're getting used to hearing about the rattles in the cars.

I don't have this feature, but in dealing with other cars that have this, the car goes nuts when people walk in front of me. And when I'm backing out of the driveway, because it's a little slanted, it will yell at me because it thinks the asphalt is too close to my bumper. I haven't dealt with this in a Lexus, but it sounds like you should leave it on full-time. I don't know what to do about that annoying green button, though. Any other ideas from people that actually have this feature?

My Honda rattled. Yes, take it to the dealer and see what they can do.

Yeah, I wasn't exactly sure if it was real carbon fiber, figure that must cost a lot. The car was silver, and then the CF hood with vents. Nope, not thinking of modding, but was very, very nice-looking! :)

It had a carbon fiber hood and modified exhaust. Other than that, it was pretty much the regular 350. But that hood, omg!!!!! Beautiful!!!!!!

The rain sensor is in the windshield somehow, thus creating the high price for a new windshield. At least, that's my understanding.

I'll try that. I never lock my car in the garage, so maybe that's why. I'll fiddle with it and see how it goes.

Actually it does, if you leave your lights to "on" all the time, the car will still shut them off as if they were on AUTO after the car is turned off. Unless you leave a door open theres no way to leave your lights on in a Lexus. That's what I was saying, I've never had luck with it. They stay on inside the garage. I don't know if it's too much illumination reflecting off the walls, or what. But I leave it in the auto position, pull into my garage, shut off the car, the lights will never turn off............Do I need to just trust that they'll turn off? Half an hour later, I go back out in the garage, and they're still on......

The first thing that I do when I get in the car is put my foot on the brake and press the button to start it. I don't turn on the radio first thing. So no, I wasn't messing around with the radio before I started the car.

Nope, foot on the brake, pressed the button, engine tried to start, and then died.

I like to leave my lights on all the time, so the auto feature doesn't help me either way.

I'm about ready to take it in for the 30,000 service, so I'll mention it to the dealer, but not worry about it. Thanks!

As an aside, I've never had luck with the "automatic" feature on the headlights. I don't have a delay, because I simply just turn off my headlights. On the first day I had the car, I left it on auto, went into my house. About a half-hour later, went out to go over the car, and the lights were still on. So much for automatic. Don't know how to turn off the running lights. Most likely a dealer thing.

I started the car this morning, and it did that false start thing, where you think it's starting, but then it dies. This has NEVER happened to me before, esp. with the push button start. I started it up again, and it started fine. Could this be an issue? Or am I just being normally overly concerned?
