  1. Thanks for the update .... glad it's all better now!
  2. Do keep us posted on your progress. I'm guess, also, that it's a problem with your keys and/or immobilzer system. Was the security light blinking while cranking the car?
  3. I think it's Verizon's fault that some phone are "brain damaged" when it comes to Bluetooth. We bought our RX400h from Seattle Lexus in Lynnwood. Very nice experience!
  4. It took almost four weeks before my VIN was recognized after we bought our new RX400h.
  5. Thanks LexTacoma! I wound up buying the Nokia 6256i which works great. You can only transfer one phone book contact at a time, though.
  6. Be sure to check all of the connectors and connections at the amp and head unit. It could be something as simple as a loose/intermittent power or audio connection.
  7. Please let us know what problem the dealer finds.
  8. You should check with these guys .... http://www.autovisuals.com/
  9. The new update will be out in January of 2006. The most current is 00230-DVD-04CY - V4.1 Hello, my vehicle is arriving this month, would there be the outside chance that it included the new version, or should/could I ask my dealer to spot me one next month if they could/would? You can ask, but my dealer would not provide the update for free on our just-delivered RX400h.
  10. So you have a Verizon Nokia 6256i .... You should be able to transfer phone book contacts one at a time by transfering "business card".
  11. What brand/model phone do you have? Different phones have different Bluetooth transfer capabilities.
  12. Have you ruled out the "easy" stuff .... like a blown fuse? I gather that the radio is getting power, just no audio?
  13. Check out http://www.kbb.com and the other online auto price services.
  14. I agree with Booyah .... when I did the math it worked out that a comparably equipped (fully loaded) RX400h is slightly more expensive with the new pricing and option structure.
  15. Before we bought our 2006 RX400h, I could have sworn I saw a complete list of the various voice commands somewhere in this forum. Does anybody have a link to a list? The manual lists the Navigation commands, but not the handsfree Bluetooth phone commands. And saying "help" to get a list of commands doesn't seem to yield any phone commands, either. Are there any? Thanks!
  16. And I believe that the Mark Levinson Audio is now an option, too.
  17. It could be a defective CD changer. But it would help to know .... * has it ever worked for you? * are you using the CD cartridge that came with the changer?
  18. You should be fine with a TMobile Razr. I think it's only the Verizon Bluetooth phones are limited.
  19. Can anyone comment on how RDS is supposed to work? The RX400 manual (p. 311) is rather cryptic about RDS .... "If the radio receives a radio text from RDS station, "MSG" appears on the display. Push the "TEXT" button, and a text message is displayed. If the entire the message is not displayed, ">" will appear on the display. To display the rest of the message, push and hold the "TEXT" button until you hear a beep. After the entire message has been displayed, the message will disappear. In case a text message is not accepted on the display, you can push the "TEXT" button and hold it to display the rest of the message. When the system can show the station name, "RDS" appears on the display. Each time you push the "TEXT" button, indication on the display changes from the band to the station name, a radio text in this order. After 6 seconds passes, indication returns to the band." So I think part of the confusion is that this one TEXT button takes on several different functions depending upon whether the RDS consists of the station name, RDS text short enough to fit on one line, or longer RDS text that requires multiple lines to fit. And the button's function changes if you press it once, or hold it until beeps. Very confusing. And I still can't seem to make it show me the entire RDS text string for stations that provide song title, artist, and their station ID.
  20. We just received our new RX400h and I noticed this same behavior. On my BMW 530i the RDS text scrolls continuously. Constantly pushing the "Text" button on our new Lexus is a pain, plus you never seem to grab all of the text correctly. Is there a better way? I didn't realize the RX330 behaved differently. Don't they have the same radio?
  21. Check out the information here .... http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=24619 Personally, I'm planning to buy the new Nokia 6256i, which should be available from Verizon soon and is supposed to be compatible with the Lexus Bluetooth (although you still can only transfer one phonebook number at a time).
  22. You have to enter this everytime you start the car.
  23. Thanks! I think I'm gonna wait for the Nokia, which should be available from Verizon stores soon. I may also buy a cheap GSM Bluetooth phone on eBay just to transfer the full phonebook into the Lexus.
