Depending on where you live (or travel) you probably don’t need to upgrade very often. Do they make a lot of new roads in your area? Most areas are not changed very much from year to year. I’m in real estate and there is quite a lot of development going on here. I just updated for the first time since I got the 330 in July of 04. Depending on what I experience with this upgrade, I may not upgrade again for three years. Upgrading every year is a big waste of money and depending on where you live and how long you keep your cars, you may not ever have to upgrade. BTW, upgrading is too easy to pay Lexus to do it for you. Buy the DVD from lexus-parts.com and take the 5 minutes to do it yourself.

I'm about to buy the mp3 adapter from Vais Tech. Has anyone done this with the Levinson sound system? How hard was it to get to the back of the system? http://vaistech.com/slu.html

Any word on the 06 updtate? I've sent a msg to lexus-parts.com but have not received a reply yet.

Does anyone know when they should be available? I thought they were out with the next model year. I have the 04 RX btw.

I just bought a 330 and decided not to go for the $1800 rear entertainment system. Instead, I decided to buy a portable DVD player. You can buy them for only a few hundred and can use them anyplace, not just the car. We can take them on vacation, on the plane and in the car. They make mounting brackets to hold them in the car and you don't have to hard wire or permantly attaching anything to the car.

So is this all 330's or jsut the FWD models?
