Thanks for the update on the search. As I think I reported some months ago, search results do not display in a usable format properly on my Windows 7 64-bit, Internet Explorer 9 system. I have had this system since last summer and the search results page on this forum is, from what I remember, the only one that has not displayed properly. Here is an example of what is returned when I search on a literal and my member name in the LS forum.

The biggest problem you might have in towing "just over 1000lbs" is that you will find yourself frequently checking your rear view mirros to make sure you haven't lost the trailer. Your ES350 engine is rated at 272 h and it's curb weight is 3580 pounds. When towing my loaded 4'x8' utility trailer behind my 240 hp, 3759 pound 1990 LS400, I could not tell by the way the car accellerated or handled that miy trailer was attached to the car. You might notice that virtually all the people who tell you not to tow have zero experience towing. I've towed stuff all my life including 40+ years ago when I was a "kid", had a commercial license and towed really big stuff behind a commercial rig. Fear not. Just follow the your owners manual and be careful. You will want to power your trailer running and brake lights from your car battery or underhood fuse box and only "trigger" your trailer brake lights and turn signals from your car's brake and turn signal light harness. Buy the appropriate trailer light wiring harness to accomplish this. OK, I had a Kurt hitch installed with the wiring kit installed according to instructions. Hooked up my trailer with the jet-ski and drove around for a while in different conditions and speeds. Around town I kept the transmission in 4th so it wouldn't be going in and out of OD. Out on the Hwy at 65 there was no noticeable feeling that the trailer was attached. Launched my Jet ski today without any problems, very easy. Now the test, loading the ski on the trailer and pulling it out of the water up a rather steep ramp. No problem what so ever........like it wasn't even attached. Thanks all for the advice, email me if you have any questions. PS also the car stay's completely level with the trailer and ski attached Bingo! ... again.

The plastic lens would be shown as a separate part in the diagram if it could be removed - don't try to pry it off! Have you checked to see if the bulb can be accessed from underneath the vehicle? The lenses on this type of Toyota/Lexus lamp units are almost always glued on. Attached is a diagram that might help. -
One thing to keep in mind is that you might not get critical and non-critical TSIB work done at a Toyota dealer. I've had an incredible amount of warranty work done on my Lexus cars at Lexus dealers without my asking while the cars were under warranty. Be sure to check for outstanding TSIB's and take your cars to a Lexus dealer for any work they dictate. Also be aware, as I have been reminded by my nearby Toyota dealer several times, Toyota parts purchased from or installed by a Toyota dealer will not be warrantied like the same parts would be had they been purchased/installed by a Lexus dealer. Ask your Toyota dealer if he concurs.

Sorry, I made a "finger check". Our 98 Carmy has 15" wheels and I have 205/65-15" Michelin Primary MXV4 tires on it. In fact, our Camry's wheels are interchangeable with the 90-92 LS400 wheels - I once switched them to see if they would fit. The diameter of 225/60-15 tires are almost identical to the diameter of your current 205/65-15 tires. Your OEM wheels are 6.5 inches wide. The minimum wheel width for 225/60-15 tires is 6" so you are well above the minimum with your OEM wheels. The sidewall height of 225/60-15 tires is virtually identical to 205/65-15 tires - that's why the common term for this type of size substitution is called "plus zero". "Zero" changes except better braking and handling but with a slightly harsher ride. Since 225/60-15 tires will spin on average about four fewer revolutions per mile and all speedometers by federal regulation read slower than you are really going, 225/60-15 tires will actually give you a more accurante speedometer reading than 205/65-15. I actually thought my 90 LS400 was borderline unsafe with its skinny tires and poor braking because of them ... might have been one reason 225/60-16 tires were used on the 93-up LS400. Randy, I think you need an intervention. I doubt if you are going to be able to tell if its a blown head gasket or something more serious until you removed the heads. Whether it's a bad head gasket, cracked head or block, I don't think a leakdown test will tell you which it is. There certainly is a lot of "plumbing" in the engine compartment on the Toyota/Lexus V6 to remove. Just getting at the rear cylinder bank looks like a challenge - I don't even what to think about doing much on our Camry V6.. I assume you've replaced head gaskets before. If you haven't it's not a big deal if you have the time, the tools and are methodical which I know you are. But it sure looks like there are a lot of small parts to keep track of as you remove them. The last car I replaced the head gasket on (and a variety of other parts) was a much simpler early 70's Fiat 124 Spyder. It was easy except I had some nuts and bolts left over - car ran fine for another year or two until my friend sold it so the leftover parts must not have been very important. If you are going to keep buying old Lexus cars, make the next one something unusual - maybe an SC300 5-speed manual. -
To add to what SRK said, the Michelin Primacy MXV4 all season tire is perhaps the single most popular tire for the LS400 and LS430. I have them on both our 1998 Camry and 2000 LS400. The ones on our Camry V6 are the same 205/65-15 size that came on your 90 LS. Primacys are really wonderful .... handle well, low noise, very nice ride and long life. The Primacys are not in the same "ultra high performance" category as those Bridgestone RE750 summer tires I mentioned but they are much more pleasant for every day use and they will last far longer.

I think the attachment shows all the electrical clamps used on the GCC 2010 ES350. The clamp in your photo looks like 82711-1E350 or 82711-1A770 in the attachment but I am not certain.

the Bridgestone Potenza RE750 summer tires I used to have on my 2000 LS400 were the best handling tires I ever used on an LS but they were worn out by a little over 20,000 miles of total use. I use true winter tires on separate wheels in winter so using summer only tires wasn't a big deal. I would not recommend driving an LS400 in snow without snow tires. I drove a 1990 LS400 from new to 13 1/2 years and can tell you that it is not very good in snow even with snow tires and nothing like the 98-up LS400 with VSC, and more advanced ABS and traction control. Part of your traction problem is the small contact patch of 205/65-15 tires which is also why it's braking distrance from speed is so horribly long. Instead of the standard size tire, consider a "plus zero" setup - use your current wheels with 225/60-15 tires. I did this on my 90 LS 20 years ago and the car felt substantially more stable on the road. Braking was incredibly better with 225/60-15 tires although the ride was noticeably harsher - my wife complained and I went back to the standard size tires. Handling on the 90 LS was also substantially better with 225/60-15 tires but "breakaway" was more sudden - much less tire squeal before the tires lost contact with the pavement during very hard driving. You have to be more careful when driving an early LS hard - no VSC to save your !Removed! like the 98-up LS. Review the customer ratings on http://www.tirerack.com before deciding on a tire to keep from buying a set of "stinkers". And plan on buying snow tires and maybe extra wheels for them if you plan on driving your 90 in winter. Or use your OEM 15" wheels for snows and maybe get some used 16"-7" OEM wheels from a later model year LS for the rest of the year. There's almost always used Lexus LS wheels on Craigslist where I live.

A blank screen doesn't sound too good - I would have expected an error message such as "insert disk", "read error", etc. I would start with looking for the diagnostic procedure on https://techinfo.toyota.com/ $15 gets you a 2-day subscription to download as much as you want. Where in Kansas?

It also includes the weight of any special equipment installed on your vehicle.

You don't really care about facts? Switzerland may have had something approaching univeral military service for male citizens a long time ago - so did the U.S. until the draft was eliminated nearly 40 years ago not long after it caught me. Do you also believe there is a "Swiss Army Knife"? That's a myth too. My Swiss coworkers loved that one. Maybe your "Globus tour guide" was giving you the sanitized tourist version of history in 2007. Get off the organized tours and meet real people. You're not going to learn much on a tour bus.

I retired from Zurich Financial Services, worked closely with my Swiss coworkers, traveled there occasionally and was as shocked as anybody when my Swiss coworker Bruno's sister was killed by her boyfriend in Zurich with a legal non-military pistol. And no, many of my male Swiss coworkers did not serve in the military. They were exempted for a variety or reasons. Don't go spreading this kind of crap. You don't have a clue.

Are you saying that your antenna isn't properly extending? If it isn't why don't you fix it. I haven't seen amplified antennas since the mid 1970's when I bought a little stubby Hirschmann amplified antenna for my VW Rabbit. Hirschmann was "huge" back then and it looks like they are still selling amplified antennas. -

I doubt if the one nonworking electric fan caused the problem since in most of the rest of the world the early 90-94 LS400 came with only one fan instead of two. What does your repair shop say is wrong? Has this car been converted from R12 to R134a? R134a refrigerent generally leaks from systems made for R12 at a higher rate but at least it is much cheaper to recharge.
