  1. G-Man, Which dealer are you using for service? Lexus of Watertown.
  2. Direct injection engines tends to built up with carbon in areas that a port fuel injection usually doesnt. That and the fact that the GS350's engine has a pretty high compression ratio, I would use a high octane gas that has superior detergent in it such as Shell V-power.
  3. An extra 50 miles per tank is almost 3 more MPG, very unlikely.
  4. The dealer is suppose to verify the problem b 4 they fix it, but sometimes they dont because the its such a common problem in the GX, but you know the saying " if its not broken, dont fix it" it may cause more problem.
  5. Thats normal for Lexus, a little bit of air always comes out of the center 2 vent. You can close the vent to stop it. The factory want the dealers to replicate the problem before warranty repair claims.
  6. orville, if I were you, I would get a good set of conventional tires instead of a cheap set of run flats.
  7. If you are the type that like to chase after rattles, the GS will keep you very very busy. :)
  8. Whatever you do, do not inset any DVD into the nav unit other than the nav DVD itself. Sometime if it is the wrong DVD, it will not eject and it will cost you hundreds of dollars to get the disc out. The DVD movie disc goes into the 6 CD changer if you have the Mark Levison system, if you dont, you are out of luck.
  9. I had a ticking noise on my driver's door and another on top of the driver's door, of course, the dealer cannot hear it.
  10. TX Lexus, thats a loaded question :) You ask if its worth while buying a Lexus extended warranty? If you future repair bill exceed the cost of the warranty, then its worth it. I know thats a stupid answer but an extended warranty is a insurance policy, the cost is already calculated with the risk. If every Lexus is the same, then one can answer a simple yes or no, but it is not and everyone have different experience. A lot of owners have been having problem with the rear air suspension on the older GX. The two height sensor slone is almost the cost of the extended warranty. There is a guy name troy out in Toyota of Springfield MA selling Lexus platnium warranty for about $1800, 7 years, 100000 miles. If you do a search, you will find more info. Good Luck.
  11. I think vasitech makes a module to over ride this.
  12. E ticket, I see you have AWD. Get rid of the runflats, they are worthless. Get a set of Good Year eagle F1 all season, they are great in the summer and in the snow.
  13. The 07 GS350 is actually faster than the GS430, and all GS are pretty reliable. You can buy a extended warranty online for about 1700 bucks.
  14. usually its the button with the arrow pointing up.
  15. Go get it fix, its free. Some owners have experience a tad rougher ride in the back after the fix.
  16. I think you have to put the car in park and apply the parking brake before you can watch a movie on the nav screen.
  17. Do you have the Mark Levison system? Does the ML system in the 06 GX plays DVD disc?
  18. I agree, at times, the GX acts as a big sail on the highway due to its shape. On windy days with its soft suspension, it takes more effort than it should to keep the GX in lane.
  19. For the most part, the GX is pretty reliable. The rear height sensor is a common problem, but other than that, nothing elses comes to mind.
  20. The black book is wholesale value. If a car is very old and the dealer dont want to sell it them self, then black book value is fine. A 2006 GS should not fall into the wholesale value catagory.
  21. They use to take out dash clips and warp it in felt manually with a felt kit, now the pre wrap clips come with the new kit. Same idea though. Some people has succes with tsb and some didnt, I hope your dash rattle is gone for good.
  22. Like Steve said, it could a bunch of things, brake tranny down shifting, torque converter, brake booster pump or master cylinder.
  23. Acoording to KBB, your car is worth $21000 in trade in.
