  1. More heavy duty bushing and bigger diameter.
  2. Your are right GS996, the German bulit their cars like Lexus built their high end SUV...............Solid.
  3. I think the lastest one was release in 07 and the TSB # is DL002-07.
  4. Seem like your GX is in the limp mode, one of your sensors is gone or the computer is fried. Try discounting the battery for 15 minute and see if the system reset itself.
  5. Ask your Lexus tech to find out when the cluck TSB was done on your GX, if its not the lastest one, ask them to performed the lastest one which was release last 2 years ago. The earlier 2 TSB did not fix the problem permenatly.
  6. I though all GX comes with the tranny cooler and high output alternator. I believe the option for the 06 GX is called a tow prep package, not a tow package. The tow prep package is nothing more than the silly wire harness in the back to hook onto your trailer.
  7. That doesnt sound like the cluck but it could be related to the cluck TSB. Did the probelm started after the TSB. Of course, it can be the tranny too.
  8. Yes, they are Lexus parts, but you can buy them online as well.
  9. If you she has nothing to hide, give them the phone record, whats the difference. Mostly likely the car was flat bed away and strip at another location. I would get the money from the insurance company and cancel your policy with them after that. BTW, which insurance company does hse have?
  10. If it wasnt for bad luck, you would have none, sorry to hear it.
  11. Replacing that whole dash will cost thousands, I hope you are still under warranty.
  12. Do you really BMW, Inifinty, Acura, or MB would fix something under warranty if they have reason to believe you broke it. Lexus has some of the best dealer service around, I am not saying they make a better car but the dealers are definitely better. Like SteveJ said, just trade in the car as it is, no one will know about the broken flap. Then you can buy the G37 and change out steering components every 10,000 miles :)
  13. Your rear height sensors are bad, its a common problem among older GX. Try recycling the rear height. What I use to do is set the rear height to low, when it stops blinking, set it to high, when that stop blinking, just drive off and it will go back to auto by itself. Hope that helps.
  14. The factory amp is under the passenger seat, I have never replace one b 4, so I am not sure how hard it is. One thing about Ebay is that you want to check and double check the amp you are buying, since its very hard to return if it doesnt work.
  15. SW03ES, thats my point exactly. Go to the ES forum and read about all the rattling problem in the new ES. The new IS and the GS are the worst as far as rattling is concerned. Even the new mighty LS have some isolated rattle and wind noise problems. All of the last generation Lexus sedans are rock solid, so I know Lexus can built a sedan that is rattle since they have done it before.
  16. Just go by the year of the car, as far as I know, the ML system in the GX have not change since 03.
  17. Well, i had a 05 GX470 and a RX350, both of them are rock solid. It seems like only the recent Lexus sedans are rattle traps. I guess all that cost cutting is finally catching up to Lexus.
  18. GS996TTCayS, I am in the same boat as you. My 08 GS350 AWD squeaks and rattles, every panel I tounch has a noise associated with it. It was driving me crazy. I just traded it in for a 08 Audi A6, solid as a rock, of course it too early to tell, but I have never driven a $50k+ car that has as many rattles as the GS. The last generation of GS has almost no rattle problems, I think Lexus quality is going backwards.
  19. Its not as good as a minivan, I can tell you that. The GX is too high up and hard to get into the 3rd seat. Then again, I havent seen a minivan with a interior as nice as the GX yet.
  20. The 4runner limited have the optional rear air suspension as well, but you are right, the height sensors are problematic when the GX gets old.
  21. I had those dunlop run flats on my GS350 AWD and had no problem at all in the New England snow.
  22. The rattles usually starts in the 1st year or when it gets cold. If you dont have any rattles in the 1st year, then you dont have the dash rattle problem. I have own many cars that have no rattles after 4 or 5 years, even in rough road. Rattles have never been a big problem for Toyota / Lexus until the recent designs.
  23. If you maintain a Lexus engine properly, it can easily do 150000-200000 miles.
