Not much snow to warry about in Jacksonville Florida, but after the weather we had this summer, nothing would surprise me. The Michilens have little tread depth either. The current Pilots have done a good job and I guess I will replace with the same.

I am getting ready to buy new 18" tires for my 2004 LX470. Not many choices out there and will most likely go with the same Michilens that came with it. They have served me well and I have seen a few negative things about the Dunlops. I really do not want to buy wheels but will when I trade for the 2007 next November. I am hoping that the LX470 replacement, what ever it is, will be available as this is my 3rd LX470 and am looking for a change :)

On my 2004 LX470, the image on the screen is like jumping and looking terrible. The Nav and other screen are perfect. Anyone else had this problem. Hate to take it back to the dealer again :o

The 2006 LX will remain the same except for some changes and more HP. The BIG change comes in 2007 when we are to see a redesigned LX. What they call it, I do not know but the big change is not in 2006

Have had the Mich Pilots on my 2004 LX from new and they have done very well. They are quiet and grip well. Wear is not bad for my mileage. Unless I hear of better, I will replace them with the same. Is there better?

← It was free. Post card came fro mLexus telling me what I allready knew that my NAV system was not working. Works like new now.

All I can say is what a difference the free upgrade makes. Not only does the NAV more accurately get you there but the map is well updated from what they had. Jacksonville is growing and the old maps did not show alot of what has happened. The new maps not only show the new but what is going on in the next few years. Don't let you time run out on getting this free upgrade.

How hard is it to remove the Gold emblems and change them out with one that I have had powder coated. The gold wore off in less that 10K and I had a set powder coated black but don't know if I want the dealer to replace or I can do it. :(

I have the same issue. I can turn my 2004 LX off with a little less than 1/4 tank left and the next morning, I will start the engine and show no gas and the low fuel light is glowing. I have also seen my gauge get confused if I leave the motor on while refueling and it won't even show full even though I just filled it up!

There is also a lack of 18" wheel choices. Its just a small market for the LX470. I like my Michelins on my 2004 LX

From what I understand it simply involves getting the new pack of DVDs and installing them. I am kinda lucky and I am getting a free upgrade at my 20k service due to a recall letter I received. You would think someone would make copies of these DVDs and sell them on the black market (eBay).

Is your vehical not still under warranty? It should be, so take to them to fix it! :o

You mean like a SAT button to be integrated into the factory HU? You know, it's a good idea but I think the potential downfall is that some manufacturers will choose sides and you will be SOL if you want to go with the "other" provider... and that will unfortunately turn into a deciding factor when choosing your future car (see the announcement from Ford yesterday to go exclusively Sirius). One very nice thing about my Infiniti is that the Sat integration can go either XM or Sirius, you just have to buy a different kit. IMO, if car manufacturers really wanted the best for consumers they would (1) make Satellite integration carrier-agnostic, (2) provide MP3 capablity on CD changers and (3) provide an AUX input for everything else. ← I will keep my 2004 LX470 till the new redesigned LX comes out. I hope they have worked out the SAT thing by then. Maybe they can pefect the bluetooth also. As far as the speech recognition, that was introduced way before it was ready! :chairshot:

I had wished that they offered the satilite radio feature, built in, on my 2004 LX470. The Lexus people said maybe next year?

I got a letter yesterday telling me that there are problems with the 2004 NAV system on my 2004 LX470. They are offering a free DVD system upgrade due to problems with "localized anomalies". I do notice that my NAV system does not work as well as my previous 2002 system. Lots of times it will tell me I have arrived at my destination and I have not got there yet. Just thought I would let everyone know. You got to notify Lexus 5 days in advance to allow them time to get your new DVDs. I will do my upgrade at my 20K service in about 3000 miles.

If car MFGs are surposed to make it safer for us to use cell phones while driving, it seems they need to get it standardized and working. It seems ridiculous that I need to pull my 2004 LX470 to the side of the road to use the phone. The whole point is that you should be able to answer and make calls with as little input from the driver as possible while driving down the road. There is a certin amount of danger in being parked on the side of the highway and this can not be the answer. Just like the voice control for my navigation system, I don't think it or bluetooth was quite ready for release, not matter what I say my LX470 wants to turn POI on or off all the time! I just quite even trying.

I hate to say but the voice control on my 2004 LX470 is the worst. It always seems to want to turn the POI settings instead of what I want to do. After a few weeks, I simply stopped using it. It has no training available which was a mistake as it needs it badly. I think that Lexus jumped the gun on the voice control and night vision. I would have rather had a factory installed satalite radio. I hate the idea of a $10 snotty nose kid doing it know.

Is it possible that a cat had done the pee pee in the outside vent just in front of your windshield? :o

Please let me know. Mine goes in for it 15K service but I have not had alot of luck getting these type things addressed. Seems they want to get the service done and that it. It won't be easy to find. Mine used to only make this noise every once in a while but no almost ALL the time :cries:

I called Lexus. It can be added on just like any other vehical. It will not be liek ti was from the factory. I asked them if Mark Levison had his head in the sand or what? She laughed and said it would be in the 2005 or 2006 at the latest. <sigh >

We just so you don't have to wait and be surprised, the bluetooth is not going to work except for just a very few funtions unless you are going to come to a halt. It is something that Lexus built in for liability purposes, I don't like it either but I love my 2004 LX470.
