  1. The more I drive it the more I love this car. Mods, please help me reduce the image size!
  2. You seem to think I am arguing with you or something, I am not. You are talking 2 sq. ft. difference! I could take an extended trip and never fill the truck up! You need to prioritize and leave the kitchen sink at home! <vbg> Let me repete myself one more time "In my opinion the truck IS cavernous and plenty big for any trip I would take. " Do you understand this is "My Opinion"
  3. Better look again....it is significantly smaller. I have been in two different LX470s for the last 6 years and have not driven or owned a Lexus car . . . . . so, as I said I have nothing to compare it too. In my opinion the truck IS cavernous and plenty big for any trip I would take. :P
  4. Not knowing any better, I thought the 460's truck was cavernous!
  5. I agree that the room in the rear two seats is nothing short of amazing. Adults can ride in the back and not feel the least bit cramped. The 460 keyless ignitition is a first for me and it is still taking some getting used to. I still reach for a key everythime I approach the vehicle btu realise I do not need one. The power, after getting out of the LX470, is like a slingshot and will make this car fun for years to come.
  6. The kitty on the dash is a Jacksonville, FL thing. It is surposed to be a Jaguar as our football team is The Jaguars. The cat in my avitar rules the house, one of three cats we choose to live with. I like the 460 better everyday. The voice command system really works compared to the 2004 LX. Even having some fun with the 380hp still yeilds me 20-23mpg around town. We are going to Daytona to visit friends this weekend and will see what kind of milage it will get. What milage it gets is not a deal maker or breaker for most anyway. I feel like I am going 50mph and I am doing near 80. Going to have to getused to this.
  7. What is nice about being the buyer is YOU make the choice if the vehicle is right for you. I have only driven the LS430 and not owned it but I must say it is a nice car indeed. I do find that the 380hp, 8 speed transmission and handling make the LS460 a better car. Not sure is "better" is enough to go out and buy one, that is up to you. I can tell you that I am VERY happy.
  8. I have not had alot of time for the details. I did see when plying a CD a "RECORD" button. I assume you can record on the FLY. Mine has the ML with Navigation. The screen and user interface is greatly improved over my 2004 LX. I have not looked closely, but will this weekend, but there is a connector inside the console for hooking up the "AUX" equipment. I will study up on this and other things in more detail. This is my first SAT radio, you get 90 days trial for free and then pay after that, I really like it so far so they will be getting my $10 for sure. The Lexus link is also a trial version with different levels of service. I mainly want the "Safety" package which calls if air bags are deployed, offers theft recover via GPS, unlocks doors, etc. I have my own cell phone so I would not want to use theirs. So much to find out.
  9. Under poor lighting it looks very dark but still not black. In the sun and better lighting it looks like a silver metal flake with a tinted grey clear overcoat and lots of clear overcoat on that. The paint is far superior to my 2004 LX470, hands down then best I have seen! I checked and it is Smokey Granite Mica with Alabaster interior. You are in for a treat! I originally wanted the Silver or Mercury but this became available and I did not hesitate. It will show dirt but I am one to keep the unit clean and waxed and the darker colors really look good with care. As far as AC capacity with FLorida sun, NOT A PROBLEM!
  10. Ah yes, I am having to learn how to get into and out of my car all over after owning my 3rd Lx, BUT after driving and taking a few corners, I remember that low center of gravity is GOOD! Well you either get to feel like an old man when you get out of it or feel like an old man when you drive it :) NOTHING makes you feel old while driving the 460, nothing. A little Zeplin and ELP and it is quite nice!
  11. Not too sure what Lexus calls it but its is a very dark grey metalflake. Has the cream interior. A friend wanted me to pop the hood to see the engine, thats a joke! Lexus does not want you doing too much under there as the engine in covered!
  12. Well I have to say I was not to sure but mine did park itself with very little help from me. After reading the directions it worked the first time. I also watched the dealer demo this funtion on thier parking lot. The system is not very useful to me as I seldom park like this anyway. Not leaving my baby on the street! :o
  13. Thanks, the kitty is "Wigger" and he and Bush rule my house! Pictures on the way by this weekend!
  14. Ah yes, I am having to learn how to get into and out of my car all over after owning my 3rd Lx, BUT after driving and taking a few corners, I remember that low center of gravity is GOOD!
  15. I am so jealous! I still have 3 weeks. How much are you paying for the passport? Does it have a laser deflector or just laser detector? I am trading my benz and am thus saying goodbye to my built in K40. It has the laser deflector which I love. In the meantime I will have to use my portable Valentine. HOLY MACKEREL!!!!! :o Last time I felt that kind of motor, I was on a motorcycle! For those who are wondering 380hp is MORE than enough. They could not install the front and back Passport until they get the OK from Lexus USA. The dealer called and Lexus said to hold up as they feared it might interfere with some "other systems" on the 460. They should have an answer next week. In the mean time I will use my visor mounted Passport. This 460 is really nice super quiet, handles well and the transmission is really nice. Thanks Lexus for allowing a luxury care sound so good when you want it to. Just enough engine exhaust noise to let you know your foot is deep into the petal. Will get some images soon, so much to get aquainted with compared to my 2004 LX470 but will enjoy envery minute! :)
  16. Dealer called me last night and only has to put the Passport front and back radar detector in and I can pick up today, after lunch! This and the prospect of getting my Leica M8 this Friday will make it a week I will not forget! :P
  17. Well, If this is what I waited several years for (my 3rd LX) then I am glad I ordered the LS460 last week. It is time for a change, anyway!
  18. I drove the dealers Demo on Saturday and heard no whistleing noise and I was listening for it. The vehicle was quiet except for the engine which really sounded good. My only dislike was it took a little more effort getting into and out of compared to my LX470 but that was forgiven on my first hard turn with little to no body lean. Hope mine will be here within a few weeks for my Thanksgiving in Atlanta!
  19. The Jax Dealer has 12-15 units on the way in early November, all are sold. I was told that late November and early December would see many more 460s in the showrooms. Hoping to get mine in a week or two at the most. :cries:
  20. You might pay a little more but do not hold your breath on getting the discount the previous posted said in his post. There is no way in even a year the a LS460 will be discounted that much. I got one on order and exp-ect delievery in a few weeks. My dealer said I will have to pay list but he is giving me a good deal over book value for my 2004 LX470. In the past Lexus has only offered me book value.
  21. Kind of dissapointed. Have ordered my 2007 LS460 and noticed the dealers demo has Bridgestone tires from the factory. Kinda of dissapointed. Not a tire expert but they did not look that good. For $71k, it would be nice to see better tires.
  22. I told my dealer what I wanted, which was a fully loaded LS460 (not the L) and he told me he had 12-15 coming in this next month. He asked me what color and I told him the Mercury Metalic with grey or black trim. Said it will be in by the 2nd week of November. No deposit required as he know he will be getting my 2004 LX for a trade. I sat in one this week and after 3 LX470s, I am ready for a change!
  23. My LS460 is ordered and should be in next week. I am 54 which I guess puts me in the rich AND old sector. I take exception that most of us want simple buttons to push. :o There is nothing more easy than touch screen controls. I use them on my fishiong vessel and airplane navigation everyday. As long as I don't drool too much, it all works fine!
