  1. Better look again....it is significantly smaller. Why would I look again. I own it and it is still cavernous! I have a 2006 Tundra if I need to carry all. The LS460 truck size is perceived differently by each person. I could not be more happy and it held my luggage for two without a problem. Some, maybe need to rethink what they are putting in their suitcase!
  2. It should make many happy if its hard to tell the difference. I bet they drive different. :o
  3. I did not think you would approve per my original message. I have tried everything and this worked very well. I can not see it doing alot of harm to the seats if the Lexol cleaner followed by the conditioner were used after the orange wipe. Did you say Ehhhhh?
  4. Had posted this before but found something that removed it 100%. I know some of the detail gurus will not approve :o but the orange wipes from Armor All that comes in the plastic tube remove the blue tinge instantly. I do condition and soap afterwards with Lexol but I have looked for several years for anything that would remove the blue jean stain from the edge of my leather seats.
  5. My LS460 sucks dust up like crazy after each waxing. I t must create a static charge or something. Seems to ease after the first wash after wax.
  6. Are you sure. There is a input inide the console to run players like you Ipod thru the ML system. I would think you could rip off of that.
  7. Well then it looks like I am doomed. While I love the car, I will own it for two years and trade it in. In two years with no care what so ever except careful washing, I would expect it to look mighty nice. I am unable to do this and will put my occasional wax and clay into the vehicle but mainly to make me feel better. I guess this section of the Lexus Forum is not for me as I am not going to ever do as you suggest in the above. In what time is left over I would rather be 80 miles offshore in my 33' Grady! At least someone else waxes it for me, I just get to fish and relax!
  8. Speaking of tires and wheels, does anyone know how my LS460 knows how much air is in each of my tires and the spare. I mean what type of sensor is involved in this and how does it work!
  9. Well, after you sit in everyone of them, go back to the LS460 and push that start button and take a ride. The best part is that each and every person has the choice. I have driven the 7 series, Jags and many more and this was for me. I have still no seen a vehicle have more dependability and trouble free life than Lexus. What good is a vehicle you have to get serviced all the time?
  10. I agree. When you search the internet, there is no shrotage of wheels for the LS460. The hard choice is which as there are so many. Living on the east coast you have only pictures to look at as there is little here. Jacksonville, Florida is not known to be like L.A.
  11. When I picked up my LS460 a few weeks back, the dealer told me that they will be offering the same wheel that is on the LS now except in chrome. I was told spring but am looking around to see if there are some other quality wheel makers. If anyone finds alternatives, please post them in this thread
  12. I feel so sorry for my neighbor who bought a new Jaguar. I asked him where it was and in the 2 months he owned it the Jag spent 5 weeks at the dealer trying to get an engine problem fixed. He, at last got the dealer to take the junk back after going thru the lemon law thing! Alas, he replaced it with an Audi!!!!! :chairshot: After two weeks, I was out in the yard when he pulled up his semi-steep driveway and the engine made a real bad grinding noise! :o I ran into the house so he could not hear me laugh! Do not know what happended but he has been driving a Audi loaner from before Thanksgiving! :whistles: He told me that Lexus wants too much for their cars and the quality is not equal to his Jag! HA!
  13. Been wearing jeans all my life and hate khakis! The Lexol cleaner conditioner and woolite removed 95% of it but it will return. Everyone is different and you got to remember that my LS460 is new. Ask me a year from now what I am doing. I do usually hand wash my LS and the better halfs Q on the weekend. I enjoy waxing but like to see some results or reward. I will wait a while before I use any clay to make sure I see results. The LS has one slick finish on it. The dark grey metalic window tint really changed the look of the car. Now if I can remember not to roll down the windows!
  14. It is nicer, but thats because of the longer hand buffing process they use on the LS. The paint itself is the same paint. This is why I have black interiors LOL. I use a solution of Water:Woolite 6:1 to clean seats. Lexol is good too, but I've found this is more gentle and it has a little more cleaning ability. I do use Lexol to condition the leather. Simply waxing isn't going to improve the appearance of paint in good condition like yours. The car was already waxed by the dealer before delivery. Now, if you had clayed, polished, AND sealed it you might have seen a difference, but still maybe not. The swirls you're seeing are from the dealer when they prepped it. Thats why I always specify no prep when I buy a car and never let the dealer wash it when its in for service. Using good MF towels will help avoid future swirls, but it won't REMOVE swirls that are already there. The only way to remove swirls is with an abrasive polish. "The Swirls" in this case, turned out to be unremoved wax. I noticed that the very first panel that I waxed and buffed made the swirls go away so I am sure it was just their failure to remove what they applied. I have clayed my LX a few times and it does make it look really nice. I do not feel that this unit is ready or in need of clay yet. I am having some of the best window tinting installed that is known to man as Lexus does not believe in much tint at all and I feel like I am driving in a fish bowl!
  15. I waxed the entire vehicle yesterday, the finish feels better but I can not say it looks better. Outside the garage, I see a few swirls that the micro fiber towel failed to remove. It is gone now. Even though it does not look better, I feel better and knew the saleperson did not know of what he was saying. I only keep my vehicles 2 to 3 years and Lexus only gives me a fixed amount for trade in. Waxing is for me as much as the car.
  16. I guess each has their own opinion. I find the fit and finish of the interior to be on par or better than the 700 series BMW. My neighbor thinks so and he is comparing it to his new BMW. The LS is a sports vehicle and not a Rolls.
  17. I share this reviewer's comments on the interior of the LS. I love the silky stearing wheel that heats up at the touch of a button!
  18. Sunroof chattering? I do not have the L but my LS is very quiet with no wind noise and for sure my sunroof does not chatter The only noise I get is "some" road noise with particular road surfaces. On good pavement, the LS is as quite as I have ever enjoyed in a car of this type.
  19. What are you expeting for $71k? It is not the best nor the worst, but afte driving, yes really driving the LS, I find it to be quite worthy of the cost. There is more to the car that what you saw in the interior. I ahve owned BMW and Benz and they fail to impress me compared to the LS for the money.
  20. I thought so. I think the paint on the LS is nicer than it was on my LX, smoother but would still need the same occasional waxing. I actually enjoy it. Thanks for the heads up on the leather at the interior door handles. I have used Lexol for the seats in my LX, do you have any preference. I hate it but some blue from my blue jeans has already migrated to the edge of my driver seat, just like my LX. The Alabaster looks great but is going to demand special care. Your comments are appreciated
  21. I have always used Meguires Gold to wax my LX470 but have traded and am driving a new LS460. My dealer told me that the new paints required very little care and waxing is not required. My car stays garaged 90% of the time but I still feel some protection is required. If not waxed is there a spary on protectorant I could use after hand washing? Also the albaster interior shows everything. The door panels where the door handle is in the interior shows dirt no mater how many times I wash my hand! <vbg> Is this vinyl or leather. If vinyl, what do I use to keep this new?
  22. Hank, you will be paing pretty well full list. There are darn few of these and they did not even want to deal much on my lowly and common LS460 but they did make some effort on what they gave me on my trade in. I told my daler I want a LS460 and what color and I had it in less than a week.
  23. I enjoy mine more every day I drive it! The LS460 is going to make alot of people happy!
