  1. my first car was a 1994 Mercedes C280. It was in a color called moonstone, which is a grayish purplish color. It was a gift from my parents as well. I got into one big accident in it when a guy ran a stop sign. It hit me right on the side of my car. The car swirved and making a kinda 180 degree turn and then hit a stop sign. nobody was injured. The car was a lease so after 5 years, i got an RX300 for myself.
  2. notice some of the features of the regular highlander and the hybrid. look for these things in the 2009 RX. such things include: 1)third row seat (expect electric in the RX) 2)downhill assist 3)uphill assist 4)perhaps electronic parking brake 5)EV mode for the hybrid
  3. ive never complained about it. I think its natural.
  4. 4 or 5 gallons in the tank is a bit much. this is the rundown. the navigation miles till empty is based on previous MPG readings. It is not accurate at all. THen theres there reserve tank. WHen the light comes on, you have about 2 gallons left inside. But that doesnt include the pipe from the gas tank to the engine.
  5. lol...this is a funny thread (not the topic, but the responses)
  6. lol rheerrrr. anywhoo, tsounds like it wasnt a financial issue that you went with the 250. Why dont you just trade it in...it would make life a lot easier.
  7. i do sometimes hear a thump, and it has to do with the hesitation from the tranmission. its like the sound of closing a lid on a tupperware box.
  8. its not even possible. unless...you change out the whole nav system, in which it would be very costly and it would be an aftermarket option. you have to have the nav to have bluetooth and notice (if you have a nav system) we dont have a bluetooth button, nor steering wheel buttons for the phone either.
  9. the intake and exhuast will give you like 3 more horses. its not worth the money.
  10. its a machine that will hold a lot of songs. Since it doesnt use discs of any sort, but an internal hardrive, you can plug it into your computer using a USB cord and depending on how many gigs that thing has, it can hold from 4,000 songs to 50,000 songs. to list a few: ipods/the new iphone there are a ton, dell makes them creative labs
  11. no. unless you want the car to accelerate constantly. scoot the chair back perhaps?
  12. well, go into the dealer with a nice attitude and nicely talk it over with your service assistant. hopefully the scratch that you made is on the same part as the part that is peeling because the peeling should be checked out by the dealer. if so, then go in and dont mention the scratch you made, but make sure you make it seem like its their fault that its peeling and say that it should be replaced since it was installed incorrectly.
  13. im pretty sure they wont give a crap. lol. and you'll be making people happy when you drive
  14. im not sure if this will work on your LS, but this is how they do it on our 2004-2008 RX series. With the key in the ignition and in the completely off position, hold down the TRIP/ODO button (make sure its on ODO before the whole precedure). While holding down the button, turn the ignition to the ACC (the spot before the ignite part) and watch the little animation on the ODO screen. After the animation is done, then let go of the button and your set. can anyone verify? if might help to have posted this in the LS subforum
  15. there is no audible warning. your not in a jetta. lol You shouldnt let it go below the 1/4 mark anyways...its bad for the car
  16. no...bluetooth started in 2005. sucks doesnt it...im in the same boat
  17. perhaps since they are saying it was basically repaired incorrectly, was missed a repair from your accident, you should go back to the place that you got the car fixed at (from the car accident) and have them fix it correctly this time.
  18. You get climate control, audo speaker positioning and song/artist information. The Audio section is actually on a separate part of the dash but you get to see it in the nav screen so you dont have to look down. You get trip information which is MPG and miles driven etc. And obviously the Nav stuff like marked points, POIs and such. Oh and your Clock adjustments. lol (p.s. you mentioned tire pressure...There is no direct tire pressure on the nav screen. You will only see a yellow light on the instrument panel is there is low pressure in a tire) Im 6ft, and when i put the chair back in my IS300 (i hear similar legroom is present), small children can sit behind me. Seeing how your wife is in the 5ft range, and i do like my chair scooted really back, i think an adult whose not particularly big can fit perfectly, but not for long trips. all lexus models come with an easy latch for child safety seats. Im sure it will fit perfectly on the middle seat, but it wont hurt to bring the seat when you test drive the car. I think it is available on all seats in the back. there is a TSB out there to change to better ceramic pads to reduce the brake dust. I hear mixed results. It just means the tires get black faster and its kinda a pain for people who care about that stuff. The squeaking...i think that is an isolated problem. Im sure they would fix it.
  19. it should not as long as the thing needing to be changed is a defect from lexus. A simple oil change cannot void a warranty.
  20. err hard to say. I heard something similar, but its very unlikely that it will come out in the next 5 years. Perhaps you should wait a year and see the new GLK from Mercedes (which could be a little more out of your budget) or just go ahead and get the RDX. thats one sharp looking machine. perhaps looking for something like this? http://www.lexus.com/fcv/lf_x.html
  21. these are on my wheels too...lol. I guess i dont do a good enough job
  22. i think hes asking where they can get mats for their car...? perhaps other ones besides the mats that came with the car.
  23. i dont think you need to access the ECUand such. Its as simple as holding down the lock button for 5 seconds etc etc; these simple tricks.
  24. well i use 91 octane, but others here use other lower octanes. at least use the middle one...cause i always think the car deserves better. anyways, gas mileage wont be that much of a difference to the point where there is an advantage on one grade over another. im going to tell you my real world gas mileage, and it might scare you, but there are a few reasons why it is so low. 1) i live in San Francisco and the hills are killer on the gas 2) my wife doesnt listen to me when i tell her to drive more efficiently my city is around 13 and my highways can get as high as 25. my trip computer stays around 15 with 80% city driving. driving efficiently like scoping out the road to coast as much as possible will be the only way you can really save gas.
