  1. to many peoples surprise, the ES and the GS are very comparable in length. As some have pointed out to me, the new ES is actually more spacious than the GS. The ES is leaned more towards soft suspension and just moderate handling wise. The GS is suppose to be more "sporty" but no lexus is really harsh at all.
  2. maintenance is tricky with older cars, especially those found in that price range. Your bound to hit a hard with at least 100K miles that probably also needs the timing belt replaced. with that said, lexus maintenance will be cheaper than Audis. Looking at your specifications, your best bet would probably be the GS or ES model range. both can be found with a 3.0 liter, probably 1995-1999 model range, cause lexus cars can keep a very high resale value. that 3.0 liter will make around 210 to 220 horses. hope this helps. oh and the GS can be found in a V8 as well.
  3. For 2008 the Lexus ES 350 receives restyled outside rear-view mirrors for a sleeker look. Inside, the ES adds two rear personal lamps for added passenger convenience. The ES 350 will carry a base MSRP of $33,720, an increase of $250, or 0.7 percent.
  4. depends if its AWD or not. before my 2004 RX330, i had a 1999 AWD RX300. note: that first RX was the best car i had owned up until this point. I had no major problems with it, even though it was a first year production model now, for the bad news. The RX300 AWD transmission has had many complaints and many have needed a new transmission which will cost thousands, at your point, not under warranty. Also, there is a major problem with oil sludge (ask a trusty mechanic to check that out). beware that you have a first year model, with some significant mileage on there. I used mine till 90K actually, but i might have just gotten a lucky one.
  5. I love the idea. I wouldnt have chosen bright wite, but maybe a blue-ish light. I hate the green as well. dare i say it, it does look "!Removed!". Thats why i like the RX which has a blue-ish green. lol
  6. notice how those cars were given the smart access after a redesign. the 2009 model will be all new and will probably, or will include this feature.
  7. mmm babies...(not to be said in a homer simpson kinda way, but in a nostalgic tone) i hear it will be the best years of your life, and the shortest.
  8. lol that half second delay is a characteristic of all lexus vehicles. you should try the 3 second delay thats particular to the RX :P (im exagerating a little)
  9. http://www.fueleconomy.gov/!Removed!/findacar.htm then find lexus 2007 IS350 it doesnt exactly say how much of each gas....
  10. So...i just spend the past 6 days and finally finished the Harry Potter 4th book...grr im so behind. I have the 5th and 6th and 7th on my desk right now, and i plan to read a book a week. Who else here loves to read the books, or am i just the only child here...:whistles:
  11. says the woman driving the lexus :P i usually take 1 to 2 vacations a year. short ones, like 4 days to vegas or something. but then every 4-5 years, i take a big one with the whole fam to asia or something for like 2 weeks.
  12. yeh its true, but sometimes its unavoidable. its cause over time, gunky stuff fills up in the tank that floats. So when it goes down that low (even though there is a filter) the gunk will start to get closer to the filter. just as a precaution, wouldnt want anything to get through.
  13. lol didnt know you werent in fresno :D
  14. hmm Aug 2- work home eat sleep Aug 3- work home eat sleep Aug 4- work home eat sleep Aug 5- (day off) eat, read harry potter, sleep repeat as necessary. ps. den, today is Aug 1st wednesday
  15. hmm ice cream...which includes but is not limited to klondike bars, drumsticks, ben and jerry's cherry garcia...coffee, vanilla, coconut and macadamian nut ice cream chips: kettle chips's honey dijon, any sour cream and onion chip/dip
  16. 15 degree turn for the left, and only 5 degree turn for the right. It turns very little, barely noticeable, but it still does just a bit. this is because that pillar isnt in the way like it is on the left hand side. you should be able to see around a bend perfectly fine on a right turn because your on the left hand side. lol keep in mind this is the first generation of adaptive lights on the lexus cars. on newer models, like the IS, and the LS, both sides of the headlights turn 15 degrees. as for the speed, i believe the speed level is 5 mph. It will not turn under that speed.
  17. LOL the date i started this was in April. That was about the same time that i was accusing hyundai of unfair product comparisons. lol. Im not so much envy-ing hyundai drivers, but i think its an insult to those who have shelled out 50K for a car that is being compared to one that can be bout for the high thirties. personally, i dont think any lexus buyers will be turning to hyundai after seeing those commercials. It might bring to their attention that there are other choices out there but once youve had a taste for what luxury can be, theres no turning back.
  18. grr ive been busy with some crazy house work. I go to my job, come home, then finish up some projects at home. Then...i found out the other day that my water heater is leaking. so that needs to be changed. It must have been that earthquake that rocked san fran.
  19. i was always very fond of the OEM lexus ones. I love them. they are streakless. perhaps you need to tell them to change them again? my guess is that they never changed them for you.
  20. i voted for dom perignon...since there are only two choices up there. im more of a wine kinda guy. Anyone try any Silver Oak red wines?
  21. yeh i know what hes talking about. but the orange ring for the odometer goes with the orange ring with the RPM meter.
  22. are you sure its not the edge of the car. Put it in reverse and have somebody walk behind you and point at the camera to pinpoint the area. the lense is suppose to have that rounded fish ball look where everything is bigger in the middle. i think it might be catching the edge of the trunk lid.
  23. its actually like the bmw thing where it tells you when to shift. its suppose to add to the experience.
  24. perhaps it was just a bad battery. dont think too much of it. even my toyota sienna has a feature where the interior lights turn off automatically after 30 minutes. Im sure a flagship from lexus has something of the same feature.
  25. AKK, you can special order the car from Japan. They could do a nationwide search for the one your looking for, and if they dont actually make it (although im sure they do), they can make the exact car you want within 3 months. However, if you have to wait that long, you might as well order a 2008 one.
