Bought and installed the one on EBAY for 20 bucks. It works and looks fine. Same size as stock. I will let you know if it rusts, but so far good. Nice to have the radio back! As it turns out it looks like the new antenna is a few inches shorter then the orriginal. So now I hear a slight grind at the end of the antenna rising. Ohh well. It brakes then I will buy a new assembly for 30 bucks. Cheers

Will the valves tap or someting if they need adjustment? My LS was taken care by Lexus for all service through 75k. Since then it was more of a side mechanic... Now I am at 100k and the belts, timing and water pump were changed. Tooooo bad I did not post this before or else I would have changed everything else including the pulleys, tensioner and gaskets. I guess in 30k he can rip it back apart for 300k and fix those parts. You guys rule and thanks for all the awesome feedback! Next time before I repair I will do more research.. Great news tomorrow I get the LS and the chick. Life is great if your an LS owner!

Honestly I expected between 800 and 1000 so I was pleased with this price. The only bummer is the fact the mechanic did not replace the tensioner or pullies. What does the tensioner do? The pulleys move with the serpentine belt (keep it in line)?

I guess it depends on which part of the country your from. In CT it's $75 an hour for labor. Cheers... Of course if I did it myself it would have only cost about 250 in parts. Also Serpentine belt and a few other extra's were changed. So I am happy. GO UCONN!

675 bucks. My mechanic is the best, but I did not tell him to change the tensioner and pullies. So I suspect it was not done, but not sure since I did not pick up the LS. Well its so nice to have an awesome mechanic who is fair and honest. If you need an awesome mechanic in SE CT let me know.

That sux.. I will probably have to take it all apart in 18 months and then replace the tensioner and pullies.

What is the cost of red vs. green. I really dont care, but for a complete flush. I know my car has had the green in it for 30k miles. For sure the new stuff is much better then the old, but the red is the best!

Hey guys... Not sure what was changed... I guess we will see since it was done today before I read this thread. Mechanic states that my belt was cracked and on its way to dry rot. I have 100k on my LS and I am glad I changed the parts. Hopefully he changed other gaskets and parts. Cheers and thanks for the advice... Is there usualy a mileage when the LS and pullies start making noises?

Alt.... Sucks when this happens.. I think we have all been there just not in the middle of Apache land. Hey I had a fully loaded tractor trailer stuck out between YUMA and Phonix. That totally sucked. No one within 200 miles and it was a hell of a trip.

Does anyone put in the long lasting antifreeze? They say to use the pink stuff.... I think my guy is going to put in the regular green stuff.... Was not able to tell him in advance.

102k and today the belt and water pump will be replaced. The belt is 13 years old so when it comes out I will tell you what is looks like. My mechanic is like 5hours of work. GOD BLESS THEM... Hey anything else should be replaced when this is done. I see something about gaskets and also some tension control. Also I am having him lube up the underside and flush the radiator. It looked like a murkey green. Additionally I just noticed my LS had the lower ball joints replaced about 60k. So this is good, but I still hear the dreaded crunch in the front end when I hit a bump and its cold. Hopefully the lube will clear this!

Wow... I think will pay my mechanic... I get tooo *BLEEP*ed off when I am doing some work under the engine!

Dead battery. Just had the same problem and a jump did not work. Morons at the shop put in a 550 CCA. I was like WTF!!!! So LEXUS fixed and then I returned the POS to the morons! Guy was like 550 is good. After I stated it takes a 710 and I live in the north he !Removed!. Cheers

BLIZZAK's are also loud. Did you rotate every 6k? Hope mine dont get tooo loud or I will have to blast the radio!

At very slow speeds BLIZZAKS improve one's control. Have not tested over 20MPH.

LS-V Tauranze has about 8k. As it turns out just put on some BLIZZAK winter tires. They both are amazing. The LS-V have minor wear on the front. I mean very minor so when I rotate I will have new tires on the front. The BLIZZAK work like nothing else. I would question the old theory that nothing can drive on ice. These can and will. Something with the double compound really works. I could not back up or drive into my driveway with new LS-Vs on the ice and snow. The BLIZZAK's did not even slide just straight up the hill any way I tried. It really amazed me. Cheers, Chris
