i have 97 and i did change differential. there is seperate plug for fill. you have put 1-1/2 feet tube(hose) from upper and fill till overfill and put the plug back.

isn't new fluid added when you do brake job?

In my 97, drop the pan and then you have to remove two bolt to remove filter(strainer) install new and put pan back and refill with DEX-III. I just drain and refill every 15,000 and next 15,000 mechanic drop pan remove filter ,install new filter and refill. Car has 349,000 and i am waiting to finish 400,000 by end of this year with the original transmission. Hope that helps.

it's all depends how you take care of it. I have 97 with 349,000, still runs like NEW.

my brother in low have 07 camry with 16". I put it on my lexus, it's works. only request i got from mechanic was don't use 215x60x16. (use 205x60x16) Now i will order my wheels. Thanks for all help.

Did you check with toyota dealer, for 97 V6 camry what they use? and cost? Over 348,000 i never went to lexus stealer. Hope that helps.

Good advise. Spark plug with Timing belt @90,000. Synthetic Blend 5W30 (Castrol) for every 5000 miles, and i have 347,500 on my 97 ES300. Hope that helps.

pump has pressure.. Rubber tube needs to cleaned or replaced.

My mechanic did for me. Drain plug is behind transmission drain plug. but fill plug is in bad spot. first he drained out old. put the drain plug back. He used small hose from top.added about qts. once it's started overflow from drain plu. he took the hose out and put the fill plug back. That was done at 290,000. presently i have 347,000 with original transmission. I do trans. drain and fill every 15,000 FYI. By looking, i can tell you, it's tough job. He charged me ~40-50 dollers. (same DEX-III fluid.) Hope that helps.
