  1. It's news to you because you are not a Lexus technician. PO171 is FUEL SYSTEM LEAN. Not bank 1 or bank 2. BOTH banks are lean. I have seen HUNDREDS of these MAF's fail. I have worked for Lexus as a technician for 14 years. The MAF on this car fails. Period. That's why Lexus changed the design of the part, hence a new part number. They fail on the low end of the parameter. Idle should be 3.30-4.0 gm/sec of airflow. 2500 rpm's should be 12.9-14.0 gm/sec of airflow. When the sensor fails it falls .5 gm/sec under the minimum reading. Too close to the normal parameters for the ECM to isolate the REAL problem. That's why it throws a PO171 code, not a MAF code. The MAF does not cost $700.00. It's more like $200.00. Dear SKPERFORMANCE, you are illogical in making blanket statments about things you don't know the first thing about. Who told you 171 is Bank 1? Who told you the MAF costs $700.00? Get your facts straight. My advice fixed this problem RUDECUBAN had. I know what I'm talking about. I deal with Lexus vehicles every day. If anyone is making misleading statements in this forum, it's you SKPERFORMANCE
  2. Your airflow meter is bad. Common on this year/model. Look at the top of the sensor. You'll see a wet coating with dust/dirt stuck to it. The silicone circuit gel on the sensor leaks out on contaminates the sensor. The new sensor part number ends in 07010.
  3. The clip that holds the door handle release linkage has broken. The ratlle noise is the window crushing the linkage rod that connects to the latch.
  4. If domestic cars are equal to Japanese cars, then why do the "BIG 3" pay out so much in warranty repairs? Ford pays out more in warranty repairs than Toyota & Honda combined. Yet Toyota and Honda sell more cars in the US combined than Ford. Domestic suck, always have and always will. :chairshot:
  5. It is normal to not go into OD when cold. Keeps engine RPM higher. This is due to heat up the trans fluid, & catalytic converters soon as possible to enter closed loop and reduce HC's and CO's.
  6. Bad plug wires. Check the voltage reading on terminals E1/OX1 and E1/OX2 at 2500rpms. Should be switching up and down. If not check your plug wires.
  7. To get the NAV diplay out. Pry off the driver and passenger TEMP buttons on the dash. Remove the 10mm bolts. Pry off the center console wood panel. Pry off the seat heater/suspension/sunshade button wood panel. remone screws behind that wood panel. Then remove the slide out card holder /CD changer panel. Remove 2 10mm bolts holding the bottom of the display. The NAV unit will now pull out.
  8. the wood trim? or the upper trim around the window?
  9. the heater control valve on this car is has an electonic VSV valve. They do fail. Apply vacuum directly to the valve and it should blow hot air. If it does, buy a new VSV valve
  10. Anyone looking for the star pattern center caps for SC430 wheels? Email me @ mehullica@hotmail.com
  11. Check out the blower motor linear controlller (resistor). Sounds like it's going bad
  12. Common problem. Go to the dealer. Warranty will cover the actuator.
  13. The driver's door cycles twice with the remote or door switch? Is the door open when this happens? Check you ignition cylinder. Does it make a chime when the door is open and the key is out? Email me
  14. I have Michelin Pilots on mine. Best tire I've ever bought.
  15. Check all the door lock actuators. Make sure all 4 door lock actuators cycle when the lock switch is used to lock and unlock. Chances are you have one door lock actuator that sticking/failing. Listen to each door closely as someone else cycles the master switch from the drivers door. When you find the one that doesn't work, replace it. Multiplex communication errors will occur when actuators fail.
  16. What codes do you have? Jump pin TE1 and E1 and count the CHECK ENGINE light flashes.
  17. With the engine running, apply vacuum to the EGR valve. The engine should stall. If not check the passage and clean it. Next check the amount of vacuum coming from the vacuum modualtor into the EGR valve. Should be about 11-14 inches of vacuum @ 2200rpm's. If not replace the modulator.
  18. It applies no non-afs and afs lamps. The part # for updated NON-AFS headlamps are 81150-0E020 and 81110-0E020. I don't have the AFS #'s right now, I'll post them later. :chairshot:
  19. There are updated headlamps to fix this problem. They added reflector to the projector to increase brightness. Email me for the part numbers. I need to know if you have the AFS or non-AFS style lights.
  20. What ludacris BS are you talking about? You MUST machine rotors EVERY time to replace pads! Pad material crystalizes and transfers into the iron of the rotor! Abrasive friction and adherent friction will not occur if you do not machine old pad material off the face of the rotor! You will severely lower the friction thermal capabilities of the new pads by now machining the rotors. In short your stopping distance will increase and the rotors will retain heat longer, wearing the new pads faster.
  21. Moonroof pinch protection needs to be reset. Hold the slide forward button until the roof cycles through all it's tilt and slide funtions. Once the roof slides to the closed position release the button.
  22. Make sure the delaer is using OEM bulbs. Sometimes they'll use cheap replacements to make more money on the part. Warranty pays the dealer for the part and labor. If they can make an extra $1.00 a bulb, they will
  23. Mirror control ecu. It's behind the dash, to the right of the steering column, left of the center console trim the surrounds the radio. Pain in the !Removed! to get to.
  24. PO135 is the o2 sensor for the right head( bank 1,)near the firewall. It's before the cat.
