  1. Lexus is gaining sales strength in US again (former #1 lux brand), well done. The success of new models will be important. I think tough battle for #1 will be with BMW. Although Mercedes is closing gap with BMW due to new CLA/GLA (lower priced fwd configs). This battle of premium brands is good stuff.
  2. I might be dead before the IS-F truly becomes a collectors item, but the potential is certainly there for some degree of collectability.
  3. Good to know about the RR Evoque, I just never got around to driving one, I do like the look a lot. Yes, one SUV the household is plenty for me too.
  4. Lexrrss - Wow that's quite a trade (the RR Evoque). What did you not like about the RR? Note: I also like a black mesh wheel on sport luxury sedans. My IS350 has MRR GT1's in black w/polished lips.

    Is Future?

    My opinion, not.
  6. Lexrrss - Welcome to LOC. Congrats on the new IS250, looks like a F-sport version. Your wife is very fortunate, very nice.
  7. nick07 - Thanks for your trip report from last summer with the IS250, impressive fuel economy. I also have a 2007 (IS350) and use the Lexus dealership service too. The service pricing is reasonable versus most premium cars (versus Mercedes, BMW, Porsche, Jag) and customer service first rate.
  8. ^Any upgrades to improve handling and performance on your 2011? I've seen some nicely modded CT200's around here, mostly suspension and wheels/tires.
  9. I can relate to the Porsche versus CT comparison. I was pleasantly surprised (favorably) when I had a CT200 loaner overnight.
  10. Yes, that's possible, it's relatively rare and desirable too.
  11. Nice and should compete well with 4 series and A5. RC has similar proportions and stance when compared to those, while a bit more aggressive and flashy in terms of styling. I would buy one, athough I would wait for a new engine to replace the 3.5L V6 (since I already have one of those).
  12. jks2 - Congrats on your new 06 IS250. Sounds like a nice example of an early 2nd generation IS.
  13. Yes, the CT loaner (loaded, low mileage and clean) was a nice surprise when I dropped my IS350 off for service and a recall. The CT was a very pleasant drive, not very powerful, but adequately powered with excellent fuel efficiency. The hybrid drivetrain makes for a very smooth and refined driving experience. The small cargo capacity was the only significant deficiency I noted.
  14. Welcome Deidre to LOC. Thanks for posting that report on your high mileage 06 IS250, very impressive mega miles. Do you have a long commute that racks up the miles quickly?
  15. Welcome to LOC. I too have a Lexus IS and Mercedes C-class and enjoy the contrasting qualities of the 2 cars.
  16. Although Lexus returning to US #1 selling premium brand is a ways off... Mercedes and BMW have substantial leads lately. Let's see if a moderately-priced compact SUV like the NX makes a difference. Certainly the lower-end Mercedes CLA has boosted Mercedes sales considerably.
  17. A good reminder thanks, I will make a point of remembering true meaning of Memorial Day on May26th.
  18. Wow, interesting collection of parts. I do like the 4 tip exhaust.
  19. Congrats on the new ES350, looks great. Welcome to LOC too. What kind of tint is that?
  20. I drove a CT200H for the first time last week, it was better than I expected. My Lexus dealership gave it to me overnight as a loaner car while my IS was in for service and recall.
  21. Welcome to LOC airborneleroy. Impressive reports from owners of Lexus and Toyota vehicles with high mileage. I guess my Lexus IS350 is just broken-in at 47.5K miles...
  22. Yes, 80ish is normal cruising speeds in northern CA too. Thanks for report, excellent MPG. I had the CT200 loaner overnight and I was pleasantly surprised by how good the powertrain was. Smooth, adequately quick, responsive, quiet, with great efficiency.
  23. And what is fuel economy/MPG on those trips?...
  24. Nicely done by Lexus, again.
