  1. First stop for them is at the fast food counter, to order something greasy and fried.
  2. BGG - Thanks for your early feedback on the brand new GS, good stuff.
  3. I prefer stock market. I leave a minor portion of my stock holdings to my control completely. Rest left to professionals, mostly in retirement accounts. Gambling at casinos with my limit of $20 doesn't last more than 10 or 20 minutes. My mother gambles and gives me free comp rooms and dinners if I need them. I don't drink or use recreational drugs, just my personal choice, although I have a obvious vice (cars).
  4. I was at Target store a couple weeks ago and walked by a bunch of "Compact" parking spots fairly close to entrance. I was surprised at the number of good sized SUVs parked in those spots. Maybe they should mark those spots for "Lazy sloths" or something...
  5. BGG - You've had that beautiful new GS for a week now. What have you noticed so far after driving it for few miles? Likes? Dislikes or not sure about anything?
  6. Around here the increase in traffic is mainly due to strong and growing economy with associated job growth, the cheaper gasoline has much less impact. Of course oil companies and related stock prices have felt negative impact. It will be interesting how much longer gasoline price drops continue.
  7. Another drop at same Chevron of 5 cents today.
  8. $2.499 today at local Chevron station for regular, with usual 16cents uplift for premium.
  9. Nice product recommendation, thanks. And yes Apple toys are my favorite(s) too. I buy them for essentially $0 due to the Apple stock I bought in 2006, thankfully.
  10. IMHO from a styling standpoint RX needs a redo sooner than later, despite continued strong sales numbers. Lexus knows more attractive premium mid sized SUVS are increasingly common.
  11. Beth - Welcome to LOC. Thanks for reporting back on fix, this may be helpful to other owners here. How many miles on your IS? Was the charge for fix expensive?
  12. Wow, 20% extra for premium... Here in northern CA, the uplift for premium is 6%. Historically it's always been around 5-7% around here.
  13. Yes. I see them in line at Costco waiting to buy gas sometimes when I drive by. Here in CA the uplift for premium is only 5% to 7%, a minor impact on operating costs for those driving cars where premium is recommended by the automaker. But maybe OP doesn't have the owners manual that originally came with the 1997 SC. Maybe somebody can chime-in on fuel requirement per Lexus for that specific car.
  14. Good article, includes helpful discussion of modern powerplants too. Regarding which to chose? (per article, and as stated earlier in thread) "follow automaker advice contained in your car's owners manual"
  15. That much marginal to bad history has an impact on price. The Mitsu dealership lacks expertise in premium cars and is a bit greedy. Just imagine the flack from a dealership one would get trying to trade it in at a later date. I'd keep shopping, preferably at a Lexus dealership (doesn't need to be CPO), they would typically wholesale off a car like this and not display on their used car lot.
  16. Not the case, transmissions are different because the drivetrain configurations are very different (FWD with transaxle and transverse engine versus IS with RWD with longitudinal engine placement).
  17. Owners manual is where I go for fuel requirement.
  18. $2.599 yesterday for Chevron regular, plus another 16 cents for premium.
  19. Welcome MZ to LOC. These IS350's are reliable (better than average). Open recalls ( there have been several and another related to fuel line is in the works ) will need to be addressed, bit that's at no charge to owner. The PPI is a very good idea, given the accident history of car. This car should be discounted significantly because of history (accident, multiple owners, non-California car), otherwise find another one.
  20. Welcome BGG, the GS Craft Line is one of a kind, nicely done. (A good body shop can easily fix the mirrors/door handles for those that like me that prefer changing to body color, that's a minor mod in the world of mods.) Agreed, nice to have a car that's unique and done with a Lexus-quality finish. No need to go with generic and common version of a car.
  21. I moved my router up about a foot or so, seems to be better, (before it was partially blocked by a granite counter). I'll test it our for a couple of days in the new location. Yes, my new laptop is in spare bedroom at far end of the single level house so distance is substantial.
  22. My Lexus dealership facility is pretty impressive, but I'm not getting any high fluting air when I visit fortunately.
  23. My new computer seems to be located in a place in the house where wi-fi is a bit weak, bummer.
  24. As long as the labor includes 4 wheel alignment, it should be a bit more than the springs only.
  25. Izzy350 - Did you select your springs and installer yet?
