  6. You know, I never have liked Fords, even though I own a F150. But at least they didnt take the Government bailouts....They should be proud of that...
  7. It is located behind the rear seat. You have to remove the rear seat for access....It is located about middle, between the tire well and bottom seat cushion.

Yes the heater is built in and they run in series between two sensors. If one opens you loose the heater for both sensors....It can be checked with an Ohmeter. Found this by google, good info. http://www.aa1car.com/library/o2sensor.htm
  10. I had problems on a Honda, Mercedes with Bosch plugs...Talked to an independent garage that does only BMW and Mercedes and he said Bosch plugs give him a lot of business. Usually work fine for a week or two then they missfire on these cars...Yep stay with Denso or NGK

Heated Oxygen sensor failure....Could have a bad wire or open heater circuit. Not sure about the 2003 whether it has two sensors on bank 2 (front side of engine) The 99 on has one. Try unhooking the battery for ten minutes and reconnect to clear code and see if it comes back...If you do replace stick with Original equipment only sensors (Denso)
  12. You can change them without removing the intake, I suggest a 2 inch quarter inch drive for access to the plugs after removing the coil packs. removing the air box (near the battery and intake hose gives you a little more room. If you have big hands, it is tougher. Do NOt under any circumstance use Bosch plugs....Stick with NGK or Denso iridium plugs. The plugs are probably not bad if you have under 130k miles. The coil packs do fail. You could switch the one for number one with say one on the front and see if the cel codes move. If they do than just replace that coil pack. The back plugs are not a pleasant experience but are possible with patient. Also when you pull the coil packs use a flashlight and look down the bore to see if you have corrosion...This can cause their failure. Good luck.
  13. I have never had that problem with the ABS...I dont crack the bleed screw ever, only after I do the brake job and bleed the brakes.... Make sure to lube the sliding points of the pads on the caliper. Just dont get any grease on pads themselves. Just a light coating on the slides is all that is necessary...
  14. Thankyou guys, I just learned something new. It works....
  15. Hey that is Harry Reid's slush fund your messing with....Just pay up and enjoy the healthcare and pad his pocket....
  16. Ok Steve I am still having difficulty. The Standard selection will not select....It says it does when I save it but immediately jumps back to outline....Thanks Tom
  17. If is is front wheel drive you have no differential....just a transfer case which shares the transmission fluid....I know on the RX300 their is a drain plug for that transfer case seperate from the transmission pan, but it is filled when you fill the transmission fluid....
  18. Steve, evertime I select Standard it appears, but then when I save changes it goes back to outline? Help....
  19. I dont like the new look, I enjoyed the old site format more, because I could see new postings immediately and even if the posting was not in my forum I could contribute if I found it interesting....This format reminds me of if you speak english press 1, and etc. Sorry Steve just my two cents. I also find it too cumbersome to read post, you have to select each post...sucks big time. It was so much easier to scroll with the mouse on the old site.
  20. The lawsuit was for 8 years 120 days...The repair should have been free.....if in that time frame....
  21. see this posting from the club lexus site.... http://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-first-g...ensor-help.html
  22. maybe your brake light switch is bad or misadjusted...I believe it is down by the brake pedal....Located above the brake pedal on a bracket.....The other possiblility is the fuse.....20A stop fuse
  23. That could be just a simple failure of one of the two speed sensors on the outside of the Transmission. Some have swapped them and see if the symtons change...Whatever you do do not do a transmission flush...Drain and change filter/ and then refill....Many have lost their transmission after a flush. The speed sensors are located on top of the tranny kind of under the air box and battery area.....
  24. We are happy for you Josh, God Bless you.
  25. Well to throw my two cents, I had a company car painted by them (MAACO) and they did a terrrible job. But if all you need is a paint covering, they are probably OK. I will admit the bad job was because of the unusual color with lots of metal flake in it and clear coat....Dark burgandy which is probably terrribly hard to match. I would probably find an independent and get it done.....
