  1. The headlight condensation is not normal....Get them to document and fix it...they are expensive..
  2. I have a brand new Front wheel bearing for the RX300 AWD part number 90136943008 original equipment lexus/toyota part. I no longer have the car so my loss your gain...Make a offer and I will send it too you...Went for around $60 from Sewell Lexus, make me an offer....I am located in Sacramento Ca area for local pickup or will ship the bearing to you. You pay postage and I will accept reasonable offers.... Tom
  3. That could be a possiblity....Some recommend changing both...Make sure your electrical connections are good. I broke a plug on mine and had to devise a way to hold it firmly on the knock sensor....They get brittle from the heat. But you did the right thing changing the wire harness. Check the connection point of the wire harness to the engine harness...maybe a pin got damaged.
  4. Do you have any other codes? Reset all codes and see what pops up afterwards....Maybe you have a missfire code such as p0300 etc.
  5. So you changed the knock sensor, not the air fuel sensor.? That wiring harness has been known to have been eaten by rodents from one member....Also it gets very brittle and rots out...Read the entire posting on knock sensors...Some have had success using fuel cleaners to clean the carbon deposits out of the engine...The other thing would be running the correct octane fuel...
  6. I know on my RX300 I would carry the Cable chains....They worked great...Remember they go on the front......even with AWD.
  7. Whoa,,,the knock sensor is under the intake manifold....did you remove the intake manifold and replace the knock sensor...?There are two sensors, mounted in the valley between the cylinder heads......here is the procedure from the CL site: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=41266&hl=RX300+knock+sensor+replacement
  8. Bank two is closest to firewall.
  9. No, I thought I had, I ordered the left rear, but now I am back to I cant tell. When I do a hard force right turn the left front sounds like it is growling...Spinning the wheels while up on jack stands does nothing for me noise wise...It is truely aggravating trying to figure out which one is bad, if not all four.....I am open to suggestions. Before the tires the left rear sounded bad when making the right turns....man it sucks getting old and loosing a great deal of your hearing. Even with my hearing aid it is useless.....
  10. Good luck, I know somebody has done this, but it required some talent....good luck and show us the results. The original amp is behind the rear seat in front of the spare tire...
  11. Ok just drove 50 miles, mileage was 25.2 mpg....so far good...
  12. Just got them installed, I was hoping my noise was going to go away with the new tires, however looks like i am distined to change wheel bearings.....They seem to drive nice, very different feel from the Toyo Open Country HT tires that were on before....Need to put some miles on them. I reset my mileage guage, and will track how it does...THe old mileage for 8k miles was 23.6 miles per gallon....Oh I love changing bearings, big job on front as they have to be pressed in and it involves removing entire hub assembly.....
  13. Not on all years, my 2008 is only covered till 100k miles in California....
  14. I just changed a thermostat on my mother-in-law car....(toyota camry 1995) the darn thing was stuck open. Make sure you get the right thermostat with the giggle valve in it. Also I would check your radiator cap. However the temp guage going bonchers is weird. You may indeed have a bad radiator....I would start with the thermostat.
  15. that is very expensive if the warranty is only good till 100k miles....that means for a 47k mile warranty you are paying $2228 for 7 years, and 2353 for 8 years....That means you can only drive roughly 6k per year to take full benefit......I would invest the money and keep it for repairs....
  16. For gods sake check the headlights for condensation, if they have condensation make sure you have it in writing at the lexus stealership. Only other thing is check for leaks on the inverter, and listen for bearing noise from the wheels...other than that enjoy.
  17. tires are going to arrive today, will line up install shop....
  18. Shame, Lynn tell us which crappy dealership you use, Customer service is all about positive experiences, one negative will come back to bite them....Give them a bite.
  19. here is a picture of the result of my intake manifold leak near the thermostat housing....
  20. look very close at your battery cables, corrosion can go down the ends of the cable into the wire itself, under the insulation...I would put a ohmmeter on the cables on both ends to make sure they are good, and wiggle them to see if the resistance goes high...(should read approximately zero ohms) The only other thing is a bad ground...maybe corrosion where it attaches to engine block...
  21. Ok made the plunge ordered the Parada's.....be here in 2 days...
  22. Have you noticed a pink residue on the bottom of the transaxle near the point where the engine and transmission are attactched....If so you may have a leak on the intake manifold and the coolent goes down the back side of the engine from the area near the thermostat housing....If the residue in only on the timing belt side could be the water pump which is serious because the pump is driven by the timing belt which is not good. or the hose under the intake manifold is leaking....I would take a flash light and look very carefully as to where the highest point of residue is....than look there.
  23. well folks how have the Parada's holding up? I am in the marketon my RX400h with AWD and would love to hear any plus or minus on this tire. Please give update. The other tire I was looking at was the Goodyear Assurance....any thoughts.
  24. Did you buy alternator from Oreilleys, if so I had terrible luck with that retailer, put 4 alternators in my sons truck, they all failed prematurely....Bought one from Napa and was good to go.
