  1. Ok, done that. Still getting some reall small bubbles coming up. probably half the size of soda bubbles now. I think I've spoted a little leak in the grill part of the radiator too... I'm gonna have to sell this sucker just to get enuf money to pay to fix it :P
  2. The hose clamp that connects to the radiator is a clamp, but the on on the engine is a screw. I'm not sure when it had its last flush. but not in the 6 or so months that I've had it. ok, so it's ok to just let it idle for 30 mins with the cap off, and keep on filling it?
  3. First problem was on monday night, top hose cracked. Got home, chopped under an inch off the hose, and refitted. still not leaking there. topped up and bled air tuesday. was fine till thursday. Thurday after 30 mins driving, average warm day, overheated. Only (noticeable) fluid was coming from the overfolw tank. Thanks for the info JPI. Any idea on a worst case scenario for the ammount of time to bleed air?
  4. Yep, my car usually runs at 50%, never higher. It got to 3/4, at the times in question. Both times I was 1 min away from my destination, so I thankfully didnt have to go far.
  5. Just spoke to the mechanic (not lexus, referred from my parents), he's not free till wednesday... He seems to be a pretty nice/straight guy. He said it can take (in some cases) up to a few weeks to completely bleed the cooling system of air. As far as lexus go, is this false hope?
  6. ... I'm just holdin on to some wishfull thinking here guys, can it be anyting else apart from the head? The bubbles are really small, about double the size of soda bubbles I guess. Any ideas? (the car has overheated twice in the last week).
  7. Does this only happen when you are stationary? Or could it be something to do with fluid?
  8. Just a suggestion... I was having a similar trouble with mine, and some one suggested it was the air intake. I recalled from the pre-purchase inspection they said the intake was cracked so they taped it up. Might be something to check...
  9. Definitely just a personal opinion, but I'd strongly advise against it. I think our cars have the potential to sound really nice, and look really pimipin, but unless you are gonna drop it, put massive rims on, and all the other stuff, putting an exhaust on a luxury (old mans) car, would kinda defeat the purpose of forking out all that cash for a car that was made to be quiet...
  10. Steve, ur car looks awesome... 1 very jealous ES owner here!
  11. Yup, my 93' has the same trouble. It doesn't stall, but it does idle too low a teeny bit. I'd say the cause on mine is #2 as if it's in neutral, I have no worries.
  12. Let's say, some one does lie abt any of the previous points, in order to get themselves cheaper insurance... That is part of the contract that they are entering into. The contract, for insurance, based on their history. Now, If that person has an accident, and has lied in their contract about said history, their coverage would surely be void. What's that about cheaters never prospering?
  13. I work for an ISP in Australia doing tech support :) I'm thinking of studying network support and possibly moving over seas (to dubai) to work... Just pipe dreams at the moment though.
  14. I actually quite like the half closing thing. I find that if you close it to that point, hardly any wind comes in, so you get fresh air but no wind :)
  15. hey guys, There may have been something similar to this posted, but I'm not sure if it's the same issue... Recently I've noticed that my left front speaker sounds as if its blown when I turn my stereo on (not every time) then after abt 1 min it comes good... Today, neither my rear or front left speaker were woking, then shortly after they came through distorted, then they worked fine... Any ideas? is it my amp or wiring? cheers - Gav
  16. Probably the only fault I've picked with my car, is that there is no light above the ashtray... whats with that!? Any smokers out there done anything about it? I've got something temp set up, but it's very riceboy... cheers - Gav
  17. Wow, that's reeeeeally nice. Good work mate.
  18. It's probably been said before... But don;t forget what the yelow in your fog lights is for... (seeing in the fog). If you remove it, they'll just be lights...
  19. Damn it! We dont have wal mart here. And the guys at kmart just gave me the "kmart blank stare" when I asked them... :chairshot:
  20. Yeah, I stuck a lil cardboard in between it and the rim and the sound has gone!! PHEW!
  21. Hey all, I think I may have found the problem!! I think it's the little cap that is in the middle of the wheel. How do I remove it to see if that's what's causing it?
  22. He he, right on the money sk. Don't know where it came frome either... Just tell me how much you want for it (message me if you like) and I'll check out the postage costs. cheers matey :) - Gav
  23. I've got the badge already, and I'm happy with the price, but thanks. $45 USD for the ceramic hey? Sounds good to me... Could you be flocked making another? At a price of course... that'd be mad!
