Before I bought my car from sydney, I got lexus sydney to check it out... I just spoke to lexus melbourne to get some prces (already quoted by sydney) they were as follows: SYD Front badge: $90 Engine mounts (just parts): $900 MELB Front badge: $45 Engine mounts (fitted incl. parts): $500 WTF is with that??? Can anyone else think of a reason for this, apart from being ripped off???

Hey guys, Any one have good ideas for personalised license plates in Australia? Cant be longer than 6 characters and numbers (if at all) have to come last...

I get 270 miles, and that's driving it REALLY easy... no mods, car needs a major service and tune...

Ahh I gotta say I love the two tone! Before I boutght mine, I abt to buy a different black one, but passed it up as it was all black... Haven't seen most colors, but the maroon/burgundy with grey and the black and grey look awesome. (IMO of course).

Is there much work in changing the air filter?

I think I'm gonna side for the coco butter. What to u guys apply it with? Do you apply much? mDoes it have to be left in the sun and for how long? (Winter in australia at the moment)...

I work for bigpond. (An ISP here in Australia). I do tech support for them.. I know, I know. Everyone hates us... ;) I bought my 93 es300, black, with black leather and every other imagineable option with 200,000 k's for $14,500 AUD.

1. The transmissions that "learn" tour driving styles and update otherwise. Does my 93 have one?? (it feels like it does). 2. if the answer to 1 is no, this will sound stupid. When I first got my car, I booted it round a bit. (so the trans drove accordingly) when I used cruise control to resume speed, it would race theengine quite a bit. But recenlty I've been driving as if Miss Daisy was in the back, and in using cruise since doing so, when resuming speed it catches up very slowly. Am I just imagining this? 3. LEXUS stands for Luxury EXport to the US. true?

Hey all, I remember a few posts awhile ago, about wind noise from the windows. I thought I had the same thing, but after a fair bit of driving, I worked out that the noise (in my car atleast) is coming from the sunroof (some from the windows, but hardly any). If the felt part (the part of the roof that can be moved manually) is closes, then the sound appears to come from the windows. if open, the source is more evident... Anyway. From memory, the solution was to spray silicone spray around the seals for the window and sunroof. I was in at lexus the other day and saw some silicone spray. In the "use for" section, it just said to use iffor stuck locks, squacky doors and all that stuff. does that sound like the right stuff? - Gav

Hey guys, I'm pretty interested in changing over my stereo but keeping the original head unit. From the FAQ: "you can replace the whole system and keep the deck by getting line level convertors they upgrade the signal and voltage to as close as an rca as possible without one using the speaker outputs". Do I just ask for these at an electical / Audio store?? I have tried to explain these to store people, who all just stared at me blankly. cheers :) - Gav

Just wondering what every one does for a living, obviously my 93 ES wasn't too hard to obtain. But what do you guys do to be able to afford a 2003? :P (looking for replies from anyone interested)

Could it also be that the stacker is stuck? (This happened in mine, it wouldn't eject, and the CD light on the HU went out also). And you have no tape in the tape player? Is the ejection button light up at all? Sorry to point out the obvious. But you'd be kicking urself if u ended up replacing the HU.

Shiat, mine must be fairly out of tune... I drove mine like I was driving miss daisy (for one tank and one tank only :P) and I only got abt 460...

I have/had the same problem. I spoke to lexus abt it (im in aus) they said i might as well replace all globes. They quoted me $40 (aud) for the parts. and round abouts of $200 in labor. luckily, the temp gauge that used to flicker, has now gone out. I'm happy to leave it like that :P

Cool, I guess I'll just remove it and try to add it again... Also, I've noticed that whilst the reception in the radio is fine, there is a noticeable diff in volume for the cd (being far louder) I figured this was normal. Is it?

I'd imagine most are the same. My front one was just held on with some kind of sticky stuff, and held in place with 2 pin type things. If you were to use fishing line to get under the sticky stuff it should pull right off.

hey, just recently my arial has decided to stop working. Luckily, it has stopped working in the up position. The main problem is the shockingly loud noise it makes while (i guess) the teeth are trying to retract the arial... it;'s not broken or bent. Can anyone help? should I attempt a fix myself? or just pay for a repair...

Hey all. I've just recently noticed a very slight ticking sound coming from the front right wheel... It's quiet enough that I have to have the window down and be driving very slow to hear it. I'd imagine it makes one tick for every time the wheel revolves. Any ideas what it could be? (apart form a can stuck to my tire :P)

Those clear lights look awesome! Hey, the front lights on my 93 es are already clear. Would the guy before me have done that, or could he have bought them?

Nah, we phased out the analog network in Aus. Dang. Looks kinda cool tho B)
