  1. I'm adding these links since a lot of us are experiencing Control Arm and Sway bar problems with our SCs. 2. About the same as your's. There isn't much you can do about that, since we're driving First Gen Luxury cars.
  3. This is good information. I'm experiencing this problem on my SC, and if you know where the tube is sticking out of on the Steering Column it would be nice. Again thanks for inputting the information.
  4. From underneath. Impossible.
  5. Okay, my turn. Now I have to agree with guys above because they're right. Trying to change your LS into something it's not designed to do is going to very hard and rather expensive, and you may not like it afterwards. If your intentions are to drag or do something foolish, then you won't suceed. If you want to race or learn how to drive with skill, I'm going to recommend attending a racing acedemy. Skip Barber and Bridgestone Firestone are really good training schools, plus they can teach you how to drive. 1UZ-FE has some good suggestions at the bottom of his post. To me the best solution to getting a better 1/4 mile is to reduce the weight of the car, and changing the all of the fluids in the car. A new intake will help drive a little bit more air into the chamber. Good luck with your modifications.
  6. Sorry to hear about your misfortune, but the only recourse you have is to talk to the GM and ask him to take some action that will help him better serve you. Tell him that you don't think the Service Manager payed enough attention to your situation as he/she might do for their other long time customers, and you feel very wounded. By doing this you're telling him/her that to better serve you in the future, you don't want to be treated this way and keep me abreast at what you're doing step-bystep. Damaging a dealers CSI report isn't helping them help you; they're just going to pick on you when you're not there, or stick specifically to your workorder. They won't go beyond to help you when you might need something done quickly and efficiently. I work primarily at an Infiniti dealer where that CSI reports hurts the dealer. The service advisor doesn't get paid at the same rate as he/she might have before. It's like a 60day missed payment post on your credit rating. It takes months to recover. Now last time I checked, Lexus doesn't support anything like this, but the individual dealers do. So the GM and the CEO/CFO/CIO. To me this would get my attention, and I'd be encouraged to do somehting about the future experience for this customer.
  7. Are you buying something from them soon, like a nice bodykit for your SC?
  8. Mike: Have a question for you. Since I work with an Auto-Group I can understand how the parts Department works, and to me it doesn't sound like they're neglecting you. We call it a process. Here's my question for you. Did the dealership provide you with a Loaner car, or are you being inconvinienced? If you're being inconvinienced, then ask them to provide you with a loaner car, or ask for the car to be returned until the part comes in. You have to understand the Parts Department has no control over when and from where a part comes in. They're just a receiving party.
  9. Thanks for the info. I'm glad you put it up.
  10. yah! I have takariara listed amongst my favourites.
  11. Body Shop, no!. Are there any pictures you could post, so that we can see what you're dealing with?
  12. Depends on how what you're looking for. If you're interested in just the sound here's a Website that might intrigue you. http://www.lexusgonewild.com/norCal_v2/V8exhaustComp.htm If you're interested in improving the exhaust, pick a nice sounding muffler, and do a custom job. 2 1/4" to 2.5" piping shows the best results when if comes to performance.
  13. The SC400 can't be turbo'd very easily. From what I've learned, a company in Australia built a Supercharger kit for the 4.0. Read up guys. http://www.intellexual.net/faq.html#022
  14. Hobats Writes: "I have the same problem on my '93 SC400, like a buzzing sound especially under light thottle acceleration or climbing hills, etc. - very annoying" PBL and Hobat: Is your muffler rattling at all? How about any of the hangers; are they loose? Any of you guys have access to a lift?
  15. Prattblue Writes: "I have a93 SC 400. I have to keep the temp set on 75/76 to keep from freezing. Is there a program to set the temps?" It's kind of normal. For some of you guys it sounds like a faulty Temp reader. Try turning off the A/C and increase the temp inside the cabin in AUTO mode. If hot air isn't blowing out from the vents, it's possible you may need a new temp sensor. Let us know what you guys are experiencing.
  16. I feel this one hasn't come up yet. A Walds kit usually runs for $2500
  17. Well from what I'm seeing at the Auto mall I work at, Caddy is planning to have a STS-V version soon. I haven't had an opportunity to throughly look through the STS, but so far the exterior doesn't look that bad
  18. Also, start bleeding from the Pass/rear, drivers rear, pass/front, drivers front. One more thing you should know, when you switch to brembo calipers you'll need brembo pads. They should be of the same composit or your rotors and your pads will warp quickly, even if you have cross-drilled or slotted.
  19. Nice DVD player. Why aren't you installing it into you dash?
  20. Don't you think it'd be wiser to save the money for a rainy day, when you'll need to buy parts? Afterall, Lexus parts aren't exactly cheap anywhere.
  21. I'm sure there are. You're welcomed to contact one of our sponsors like MrSypher. He'll be happy to work with you on anything you need.
  22. Don't drill holes in your car. If you want to put a Sirius or XM system I'd replace my entire stereo setup and go with a stereo that already have the plugs ready for it. The antennas are supposed to be mounted at the highest location on a vehicle with the minimum interference from other electrical issues. For your setup, you can tuck the cables under the centre console, under the rear seat, and into the trunk, along the trunk hinge - to the centre of the lid. Becareful though. The rear seat on our LS's are the hardest things to remove. For a professional look, i'd take it to Best buy or a stereo shop and pay them.
  23. Welcome to the club Zen999. If after you've done what 99LSguy suggested and the problem lingers, I'd recommend checking the type of fluid that's in the reservior or just changing the fluid out all together. It's a pain in the neck, but it could solve the problem. Also, at what PSI are your tires set at? Did your mechanic/friend notice any leaks/wetspots underneath the car?
  24. Interstate!!!!. god I hate them. The Toyota Battery should do the trick. I preffer not using the reman'd alternator. I'd say, return it, get your new one, and try getting something back by selling it on Ebay or someone you don't know(Not on this forum, please. ClubLexus is fine :P ).
  25. It sounds like a bad alternator. Flank if your car can't be jump started, then you should look into an OEM alternator from the dealer. Something tells me the other one is refurbished. keep us abreast.
