  1. Hi, I can not seam to find any articles on how to rebuild my 1995 SC400 master cylinder. I just bought the factory replqacement parts but I would like to read any articles or factory instructions before I start. I only have volume one of the factory manual which does not cover this repair. Thank you for any help, Pete :)
  2. Thanks, I'll let you know after next weekend
  3. Excellent, thanks AWJ. I look forward to cleaning the throttle plate, hopefully that will stop the hesitation. There is also adjustments using a feeler gage and than adjusting the throttle sensor based on ohm readings, is that something as well that can be done with the whole unit installed? Thanks again for you help. :D
  4. Help, throttle position sensor adjustment. I need some help to clarify the Lexus manual instructions for adjusting the two throttle position sensors. I am unclear on if I have to remove the throttle body or not to make the ohm check and adjustments as instructed. The reason why I am trying to check these units is I have been getting a lot of lag or hesitation starting out and I think it could be a simple adjustment on the throttle position or the unit itself might have a short in it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)
  5. I have tried silicone and the tire endurance tip as well but I did not hear much improvement. I can however put a little forward pressure on the moon roof while driving and I do notice a significant drop in wind nose. All the mounting hardware and sliding hardware is fully secured and I do not feel there is any play in the system. :(
  6. My 95' SC400 has had a rattling problem for some time now, especially when climbing hills. It sounds like one of the heat shields is vibrating against something. I have inspected under the car but cannot fine anything that is loose. Any suggestion would be great, thank you :)
  7. Hey, thanks for the useful tip. I finally got around to disconnecting the battery last night and I do notice a difference in acceleration. I would say it is 75% better. Thanks again for your help :)
  8. I have the same problem with my 95' SC400. Dealer test drove with me and said it was an acceptable level. I still disagree and tried some 3M sealant tape over the front seal. It made little difference. I also checked to see if the front was slightly down from the roofline and the rear slightly up, it was but I did notice there is a slight crown in the moon roof. I pulled it down from inside the car but I still feel there is to much noise getting in or out. Maybe a windscreen deflector might work, anybody every use one? :)
  9. I have tuned up my car this past winter with new plugs, rotors & caps, pvc, antifreeze and air filter (car has 49,000 miles on it). The car ran great for the past couple of months but lately I have notice a hesitation off the line, like a loss of power for a moment (like it can’t get air) than the engine opens up fine. I have cleaned the air filter, which looked great but not sure what else to check. I have never put a timing light on the engine to check it and did notice marks on the flywheel pulleys when tuning it up, should I and how would I make adjustments with two distributors? Thank you for your help :)
  10. I would think if you do end up touching the bulb a little alcohol on a paper towel would clean off any oil residue. As an FYI Wal-Mart now sells the new Silverstar High Performance Halogen (bright white), model number 9006ST (low beam) and 9005ST (high beam), cost is $37.00/pair, nice web site for Sylvania for replacement guide. 11. Great info, thanks guys. PBL :D
  12. Thanks, I will let you know. I did forward 4books.com the above information in reference to my order and I am waiting to hear back from them.
  13. Thanks JR, that makes a lot of sense to suck out the old fluid first and than proceed to the longest line to ensure the old fluid is out of the system before getting to the front of the vehicle. I’m not sure about pumping, I read once in a Bentley manual for a BMW to pump several times to relief pressure on the ABS system prior to opening any of the bleeder screws, not sure how this will increase pressure or not. thanks, PBL :)
  14. Are you sure about 4books.com prices? I just paid $130.00 bucks for volume 1 (engine) from them two weeks ago! I'll have to forward them your note. PBL :(
  15. Thank you for the replies, I guess it can't get any easier than that. I just thought there could be something unquie with the ABS system and I didn't want to screw the brake system up. Thanks again for the help I was looking for. PBL :)
