  1. hey Stickerman- Sorry to hear about the dealership experience. Since this is a CPO Lexus there may be a survey for the orginal dealer. You can give them a low grade. Brakes are not supposed to be replaced under the CPO Program unless they are below 1/2, or if it doesn't meet MD Inspection Standards which is a little higher. Did you buy the car from a VA Dealer? They're inspection are not as thorough as the MD and DC stations are. The link below is the recommended Services provided by one of our sponsors http://www.jpimportz.org/Lexus.htm Take a look at the 60k Service and match it up to dealers done.
  2. It also sounds like your interior is leaking. Have you had a chance to replace the weather stippings including around the sunroof?
  3. I left my Acura at the lot to take the SC4 to my insurance today. My girlfriend drove down 95 with me to drive the Lex back with me in the Acura. I still love my Integra (very reliable) but she was left in the dust. I thought I was being slick asking her and not one of my buds, but I was wrong. Said opening her up and feeling the power she stated it was better than s*x. Anybody need a slightly used girlfriend??? OOPs!!! you're in trouble. Congrats on the SC4. I've noticed the sudden surge in Lex SCs around the DC area. When I bought mine three to four years ago there were barely any but lately I've come across several.
  4. Have you ever cleaned out your throttle chamber? Also, are you still using Premium Fuel?
  5. No rubbing since they're OEM Lexus, and I haven't lowered my car. I'll upload a couple of pics in the morning.
  6. Transmission was flushed when the transmission fluid was changed 6,000 miles ago. Try again. Did you use Toyota ATF/Manaual? It's possible the gears are griding. I'm having the same problem with my LS400. The only problem mine's getting worse. When I've taken my transmission out I'll let you know. Good luck with your
  7. You sure you want to put these rims on your SC? They look good on the LS but not the SC. I personally have 18" spoked GS400 wheels. looks nice
  8. It sounds like you need a trans flush. Have you done it in the past like around 60k?
  9. okay!! :whistles:
  10. There is a type of universal key out there. It's similar to the gator socket wrench. BTW where in MD are you? PM me; perhaps I can help.
  11. Hey Guys: Wanted to know if anyone had replaced their stock steering wheel with an aftermarket one?
  12. This is a late reply to your post. I didn't read through all that you did, but if you replaced your P/S Pump you have to remove all the air from the cylinder. Hike up the front end, and start the engine. Take off the P/S cap and turn the steering wheel to the right completely and then to the left. Keep on doing it until the sound goes away. It would have been better if you used a machine to change the fluid. This way there wouldn't be any air. If doesn't go away, time to seek professional help. toyota dealers can help you cheapen the blow.
  13. Isn't your car under the factory warranty still?
  14. It sounds like you need a new antenna, again. Is it a factory antenna or a PepBoys product? If it's a factory unit, be sure that you've connected all three connectors, Radio, Motor, and another one I can't remember where it goes.
  15. It sounds like the Tornado sleeve that's been advertised on TV for the past few years. I can understand the effect, but I'm not sure if it's going to save you that much fuel, it's designed to force more air into the chamber. If the sleeve's being sold for under $30 you could put it in. I doubt you'll truely feel the change, but doesn't hurt to test it out. Let us know what you find out if you try it.
  16. The maximum you should be spending is about $1500. That's for a short block. I'd suggest getting a quote from a Toyota dealer or if you know of a Toyota Master Mechanic have him/her to do it.
  17. I would imagine you should be able to. The radio and changer is made by Panasonic. If the connectors have the same number of pins and the colours are similar it should work. You could probably Are you planning to buy the 12disc changer and then test it out? If you're buying it from Lexus and they have it in-stock they maybe willing to let you try it out. UCf3
  18. Does your Control Arm bushings squeek in cold weather?
  19. It looks like the JICs Magic Kit w/out the fogs and 97-00 grill. Looks nice though.
  20. What PSi is your tire pressure at?
  21. Add a bodykit to it, it'll blend quite well.
  22. yeah, the chip in the key wasn't put into service until the 97 model year. chrisnisbet: What's wrong with your car? from the sounds of it, your ECU wasn't updated, but what else did the dealership say was wrong with your car?
  23. The Amsoil filters recommend that you change your filters every 12k but Amsoil doesn't guarantee their product against street applications, only Race. If I were you, I'd still use the conventional synthetics like Mobil1 over Amsoil.
  24. weather can wear the seal around many bushings and tie rods especially with the kind of weather you have up in the northeast. Unless you're planning on garaging your LS during the cold weather, expect it.
  25. Same here. If my birthday wasn't yesterday then i would have gone.
