Well it's a tough call. I have a 95 SC300 with 235k. I'm thinking of tuning it to produce 600bhp. I'm expecting to spend $10-15k very easily, but with a new SC you won't be able to modify it without losing the warranty, and they're only available in the convertible V8. Since you're looking for a 4 sec car expect to spend more because you're producing close to 1000bhp, which would make your car illegal in all states. Any car you want to modify you should look for a capable shop/mechanic since you don't have money to blow. I'd suggest researching good shops that can do the work for you or where you can buy parts from. In the meantime check out our MOds thread(Pinned in the SC300/400 Forum), and work from there. Good luck with whatever you do and let us know how it turns out.

haven't got a clue what would cause that. How old is your alternator and your fuel filter? I wonder if its due to a bad spark plug or cable.

93 Sc300 - Where Are The Tail Lights Grounded?
UCF3 replied to sjc6765's topic in 92 - 00 Lexus SC300 / SC400
Only the Taillights, or all lights? -
Not really familiar with the Bluetooth onboard the IS, but on the Infintis once you've programmed the correct model phone the bluetooth detects and enables it to work inside your car. Since it's an IS350, have you thought about seeing your salesman or service advisor?

I think I've replied to this Post once before, but my answer went, you can't buy a kit foresay. You can have a Best Buy/Circuit City create s backplate for your stereo.

It sounds like Zippos doesn't know what they're doing and trying to get you to buy more equipment. Unless you're interested in getting new speakers I'd make it work. I installed an 04 Pioneer system into my stock speaker system and it works fine. Just have them splice into stock harness and secure their work properly.

My Headlights Are Out And I Desperately Need Help!
UCF3 replied to RColbert's topic in 92 - 00 Lexus SC300 / SC400
but you have no knowledge of my low beams not working. say yes It was a suggestion to check the switch but you obviously did not pick that up. Maybe there is a problem in the switch column with the contacts. It sounds a little mean even if you didn't mean it that way. I'd suggest using the Clickable Smiles to express your mood/expressions. didn't mean to make u upset but I already fixed my problem. Duh, I only needed to change the bulbs. I never heard of both lights going out at the same time. but thanks for the feedbacks. B) I thought you'd check that first. that's what i get for assuming things. Glad it hear that it was solved. -
About To Buy A 93 Sc400. Opinions On Good Deal Or Not
UCF3 replied to Moltenburn's topic in 92 - 00 Lexus SC300 / SC400
definitely have the car inspected by a Lexus or Toyota Master Tech. Since you live in the Denver area, i'd also take a good look underneath the vehicle for rust and other corrosive damage. This will determine how long before you're going to have to abandon or fix the rusting issue. Inspect the car for prior collisions, paint fade, overspray, discolouration or fade in headlights/taillights markers and so on. Also, most importantly, inspect the car for water damage, carpets-odor/colour and so on. It's important not to get the cars damaged during hurricane disasters. they're still floating around and will for quite sometime. good luck -
The JICs is an excellent pick. I just finished buying and installing a cheap kit from VISRacing. I would definetely recommend not buying a kit through Ebay; I was sucked into that void myself, and was forced to abandon it because it didn't correctly fit. Before you buy something, i'd suggest researching a good bodyshop in your area who will specialize with FiberGlass modifications and has worked with aftermarket bodykits.

I would also say, the sound is much better on the Nachamichi compared to the stock Pioneer.

Car Runs (and Shifts) Better Now, After Using Carb Cleaner

Thanks for the input. Great work. -
Pretty sure it will be back. You should consider replacing all four sensors. I did and haven't seen the code come up.

Welcome to the Club. It's not that difficult. It should be an H4 Bulb, but you can look it up. I would recommend removing the battery so that you can make it easy on yourself. If you remove the battery, the theft system will also disconnect. Just make sure all your doors are unlocked before you disconnect. You'll have to reprogram your radio and clock again. Disconnect the battery: -Negative first -Positive next Next you'll take the Battery Brace-off, and remove the battery. Turn the light bulb counter-clockwise or until it turns, and pull it out, and disconnect the connector from the bulb. I would suggest not touching the glass on the new bulb otherwise you'll have to clean it. That should do it. Good luck

That's a good question. both the 1jz and the 2JZ are excellent turbo cars, and I'm a little skeptical about the 2JZ being a Turbo Car. What kind of Mods do these cars have?

Here's the link to TM Engineering, but I would strongly suggest not getting the Bushings Kit. The ones that I attached to my control arm, squeek and are rough over bumps. http://www.tmengineering.net/ Our fellow member Jibby has modified his SC with some Supra parts. Perhaps you could attempt to do something similar. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=30822 Good Luck

Tells Us About Your Car And Its Mods Or Problems
UCF3 replied to SKperformance's topic in 92 - 00 Lexus SC300 / SC400
Sorry for the delayed response. I don't alway check the forums everyday. Look through this post. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...uster&st=15 It will give you some information on how to remove the cluster. I've sent Jim a message. As soon as I get in-touch with him I'll email you. I have to send the cluster from my LS anyway. -
Also try using some Prestone Engine Clean when you add more fuel. When you're changing your oil i'd add some Restore; it may take the pinging out. You could probably get this done now.
-
Sorry for the late response. Can't really think of what might cause that. When was the last time you completed a 60 or 90K service? I think you should get underneath the car. Look for leaks near the transfer case, and under the engine itself.

There are a couple of people who have swapped to a 1JZ. I have my doubts if it will be a direct bolt in. The 2JZ is direct bolt on. Have you tried to search through the Forums? There should be at least two Threads talking about the swap and the wiring harness.

I've got an answer. Thanks for reading though.

Newly Bought Sc400, Looking To Upgrade
UCF3 replied to Blizzy019's topic in 92 - 00 Lexus SC300 / SC400
I believe one of biggest differences between the Stock Supra and the TRDs is strength. One of the TRD Limited Slip options available is a 1.0 and another is the 1.5. I'm not sure if you've had the opportunity to read the Thread entered by JIBBBY. Some rather interesting suggestions. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=30822 When you're ready to order visit a Toyota Dealer; they'll give you some suggestions and keep the Part Numbers Handy. You can type those Part # in Google and get a few links that might help you. You can talk to the parts guys at Carson Toyota. -

Sc400 Aftermarket Radio Installation Kit, Any Available?
UCF3 replied to Sandman's topic in 92 - 00 Lexus SC300 / SC400
I think you should try calling a Speed shop and ask them cost. You can always shop around to get the best value. I'd also check out the Audio and video Forum, and the Audio and Performance Thread just in case you missed something, if you haven't already done so. -
Hey guys: Just wanted to let everyone know that I finished installing a Vextex V SpeedBodykit on my SC, but need your help finding these foglights. Any thoughts on who or where I can find them? Thanks for your help

I guess it depends how far you want to bring the wheel out. I have 265 r18.5, and it's possible to push it out 275 before it starts rubbing against your Coils. Anything better you might want to question yourself. Coil Overs could solve that problem.
