  1. I wouldn't recommend getting it though. they get in the way of your rear view.
  2. Ah, but the SC and IS's are. Both of them have raced on the JGTC and Australian Grand National Circuits for a couple of years. The SCs are heavy, true, but you can reduce the weight. That's what Modification is all about, making something that's good, better. Ok, but here we are talking about full stock Lexuses going on a track-fun-day! Not a few cars can do that (I had one and it was certainly funnier than an SC) I haven't converted my SC yet. I'm still working on the suspension. You can take a Stock SC on the Track too, but then you'll realize how ridiculous your car is because it has to meet government and luxury specifications. That's one of the reasons why most of us want to modify. :)
  3. There is nothing called worthless opinions. All can post, but when myself or one of my fellow Moderators have to Censor a thread, not very productive. Language within Comments that's what needs to be stated in a G-Rated Manner
  4. very useful.
  5. you should read up on it first. check out what's involved in a stroker kit http://suprastore.com/34listkit2j.html and no, you don't need a turbo if you have a stroker kit.
  6. Hi, As the car has never been imported to France, I have to do my shoppinfg in the States. I was thinking of getting the parts from Lextreme. I have already purchased OEM parts from them and was satisfied. Bodivo He's a good source too especially with engine parts and tuning, plus he's in California. The other source we've recommended is Carson Toyota. They can acquire TOM's Parts. I've looked for parts on Ebay before especially OEM Replacements. Don't buy the Service Kits or the Bodykits from there though.
  7. good prices for all of the them. If you guys are willing, I'd suggest getting TRD Supra Control arms. they're usually lighter and stronger than the SCs and base Supra ones. Plus they're performance versions from a trusted division like TRD. Maybe pricier.
  8. I never worked on mine, but it can't be hard finding replacement parts. There's a company I've used in the past; they were pretty good. You could ask them to sell you the parts perhaps. Check the Pinned Threads created by BobsVilla. There's a link for Mikado Technologies in San Franscisco. Also try Jim Walker @ jimlwalker@sbcglobal.net. He might be willing to sell you the parts.
  9. They should be identical size wise, but the wiring harness might be different. Run a search on our forum and see if anything comes up. If not try the other Lexus site. My google search came back with a hit.
  10. CEL should stand for Check Engine Light, but you've already answered that question. Tune-ups are one of the reasons why a car runs rich. Has than been done lately? Do you hear any knocks or rattling from the engine after start?
  11. that's true, it's a Toyota, not a Porsche. as long as you've changed the old oil, it should turn over. Just check your battery terminals for corrosion build-up and start it up
  12. Ah, but the SC and IS's are. Both of them have raced on the JGTC and Australian Grand National Circuits for a couple of years. The SCs are heavy, true, but you can reduce the weight. That's what Modification is all about, making something that's good, better.
  13. Bodiva: Does your mechanic know of a good source to purchase Toyota Parts from in France?
  14. SC300 Drifter and All: Let's keep the language Rated "G". I didn't get a chance to view your video, yet, but I will later on tonight. I will side with the others about drifting and hard driving on Public roads as a Safety Concern. I would suggest the open parking lots but most of the private ones don't want you to drift. I hope you will understand everyone's opinion in this case. These are the tracks in Washington State. Washington State Race tracks I've raced at Pacific Raceway and I love the track and I'm building my SC3 for a road coarse. My Celica was modified for the Track. Tell us about your mods?
  15. Bovido: Welcome to the US Forum. I don't see any reason why you can't be a member here. The UK site is also helpful. So tell us about more about your 92 SC400 w/ 44,000 miles on it(impressive). Colour, modifications, error codes etc. For your information(FYI): We usually don't use all-Caps on the forums.
  16. why would we laugh? try this link. us.Lexusownersclub.com
  17. Joe: as long as you stick with the OEM Lexus wheels it shouldn't be a problem. Also there are some more details about what you're asking for in the Wheel and Tire Thread on our Forum.
  18. welcome to the club. Love the colour. THe SC3 is an open diffy car so one will spin. My 5speed came with a 1.0diffy. BTW don't think you'll be able to get better fuel economy without the stock setup. new intake will add 2-4 HP but it will change the air/fuel mixture. I'd suggest keeping the Integra stock and use it as your daily commuter. Got anymore pics of your Angel Eyes.
  19. I've been experiencing this CD Changer can't read problem. Has anyone tried to rebuild their Changer and test it or skipping and not reading?
  20. I hate my control arm bushings. I was a pain to replace and they squeak like crazy when it's cold. Buy Supra TRD control arms if you can. It will stiffen the suspension a little, and won't squeak.
  21. well, it's lighter. I guess it boils down to what powerplant you're interested in. Turbo 6 or 8
  22. I'd say the exhaust Route, but I think it was a marketing scheme. their target audience were 5series and E-class customers.
  23. If you're serious about the Targa Top, you may be interesting installing a Roll cage. The Targa top will make the car feel like crap around corners and most likely very unsafe.

    Cop Question

Ted: I believe they can do whatever they want. I was once pulled over for not having a front tag on. the guy ran my entire tag history to discover how many times I was pulled over for not having a front tag. felt like saying :chairshot: but just took the ticket and went with it. Now I'm not 42 or caucasian, or with a white SC, but i figured they're doing something instead of "returning to the safety of their donut shops"(Movie-"Eraser")

    Cop Question

I think you're out of luck with this. The cop is allowed to park anywhere to give you a ticket. not a lawyer but from what I've learned from the 3 law classes i took he is the right to be on the driveway since it is considered public. Your closed garage and your house is consider private. Now I'm paying for a service known as Legal Resource through work, and I believe it's offered to the public at a yearly cost to you. they supposedly provide you with advise and services from a licensed attorney. I'd probably invest in such as service just in case you're like me-don't consider speeding aggressive driving.
