Hi and welcome to the Club. It's difficult to offer any suggestions without knowing the complete info on your RX , i,e, the model year since things can change from year to year. Please go to your profile section and complete the format, then hopefully we can figure out your situation. Thanks, Paul
  3. Here Lenore is an article from the New York Times about Romney's budget plan. It has some differant views than the article you posted and includes sources. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/08/12/opinion/sunday/romneys-tax-plan-defies-the-rules-of-math.html?_r=1&nl=todaysheadlines&emc=edit_th_20120812 Paul
  4. Hi Nae and welcome to the Lexus Owners Club! Feel free to post information or questions at anytime. Being from the Midwest (Iowa), I know that all those miles you've driven in Kansas are all down hill and your engine never goes above idle. If you ever find a hill your ES300 won't know what to do!! LOL Paul
  5. This is just a stab in the dark, but based upon memory I would guess that the drive belt in the player mechinism is either broken or worn. This belt turns the tape take-up spindle and when it is worn or broken the tape dosen't move. The tape player senses no signal across the pick-up head so it ejects the tape. It also could be a mechnical failure in the drive mechanism, (jammed, broken part, etc.) To find parts, try e-bay as a good source. Or a junk yard where you could buy the whole unit and if it's a good unit, just swap it out. Below is a link to United Radio which is a company that specializes in automotive radio repair. They come highly recommed by other auto stero installers for there quality of service. http://unitedradio.com/automotive/ Paul
  6. For a change, I agree with points that everyone has made. But unfortunately, I also agree with Steve W. All of this "stuff" has moved way out of our hands and control. I believe that with recent ruling of the Supreme Court, our best days of free and citizen determined elections are over. The incredible amount of dollars being spent over the last two years in beginning to slowly prime our minds with what to believe, how to belive, why it makes sense to believe this way, and to share your decision with friends. We as middle of the road Jane and Joe's, haven't got enough money to even pay for the shoe shine these people get. Yes, your going to say I sound like "Chicken Little". However, will the voting boths be rigged? ...no. Wil there be some graft or pay-offs?...there allways is in some county, but all in all the vote will be one person, one vote. I just ask that you reflect on what created the desion in your mind and how was it influnced. Super Pacs? Special interest groups? On and on and on and on.........all depends on how many billions youv'e raised this year to buy and election. Paul
  7. Pretty amazing. This comes up more often than you'd think, particuarly on the older models. But I never heard of anyone trying this method. Thanks for sharing your success and lets pass it on as needed in the future, Paul
  8. I know what you mean.....it's like the old TV repair man. It always worked by the time he got to thhe house! I would tell them to take the trim off from around the head unit and nav screen and then check it for rough spots or poor fitting areas. Just keep at them. You don't pay that kind of money for squeks. Let us know. Paul
  9. 2010: ES350 - 11952 I only drive it to the store on Sundays for a refill. Refill brand personal info. LOL
  10. Hello Jupa28 and welcome to the LOC. Glad you made the switch. How do you like your RX? Paul p.s. - You don't indicate the model year of your new purchase. Please add the year in the proper space provided in your profile. Thanks.
  11. Welcome to the Club! I have not had this problem but shouldn't your car still be under warranty? Paul
  12. Hi and welcome. Going to need to know the model year too. For future use add that info. to your profile. One of the best places to check is e-bay,or a wrecker yard. If you hang on, others might chime in and give you some ideas. Paul
  13. Hi Shubert and welcome to the LOC. Very nice rides.....keep it up! Paul
  14. Sounds and looks like Richard Nixon has come back from the grave with his paranoia in full bloom. And he's teamed up with Karl Rove, the guy who can even scare a newborn baby.
  15. It would be helpful if you would include the model year of your RX300. From what I've read over the years on this site, it would appear that you either have a shot drive motor, or a set of "opening -retracting" cables off the tracks.
  16. "AOL-AUTO" released this review of the new 2013 - ES350 today. Overall their very positive about the new buggy. They espcialy praised the platform changes and the excellent interior. Read on and post your opinion after you have read the article. http://autos.aol.com/gallery/2013-lexus-es-review/
  17. Sorry. This is the "Lexus Owners Club"....
  18. Both SW above, and I have leased cars in the past. I can't speak for SW, but if your driving just 25k miles over what I assume is a 3 yr. period, then there can be only two logical reasons for you to lease a car. 1. If you really like to have a new car every 3 years, and can afford the down stroke up front, plus the payments and wear and tear their always going to find a way to get out of you. I know I'm leaving some things out. 2. Our you believe you can write off enough of the lease cost to make the lease outlay petty cash in your world. I am not a tax accountant and not in my business any more. But it is my understanding that through out the 2000's many of the tax write offs that had become so lose it was crazy, were either tightend or eliminated. Thus making car leasing less benifical. IMO, at 8,333 miles a year, I would be nuts leasing the car, and hemoring money like I'd been run over by an LX! LOL Paul
  19. Hi and welcome to the LOC! This site has a designated member who deals in all audio and Navigation equipment for almost all Lexus models. His handle is "dcfish". If he's not available (vacation etc.) you can also try e-bay or a Wrecker yard. Also, check your local dealer. I will leave a PM (Personal Message) for "dcfish" to contact you. Paul
  20. Welcome to the Club. What year is your RX? Please add this information to your profile. Paul
  21. From what I can make out, it appears to be the "Check Engine" light. This indicates a problem somewhere within the engine/mechanical system. It can be as simple as a lose gas cap. I know nothing about the rh400 system so my advice is to go to your dealer. You need to include the model year of your car in your postings and in your Profile. Let us know what you find out. Paul
  22. My dealer just got their first shipment of 2013"s , ES and I'm stoping in tommorow to check it out. When I was told they had come in, one of the service advisor's said he didn't like them as much as the 2012. It had nothing to do with the enginering or mechanics, it was all based on appearance and visual design. I'll let you know my thoughts.
  23. Hi Tanya and welcome to the Lexus Owners Club. Post your questions is the proper forum and we'll see if any of the members can help you out. Paul
  24. Hi Jay and welcome to the LOC. I apologize that your posting appears to have gotten looked over. It sounds like you have a control problem with the mirror memory/circuit. As you know,, the mirrior should follow a programed path which you have locked in. I'm un clear if your saying that the whole mirror unit is unfolding and then folding back against the car ? You say that the motor works fine and you can adjust the mirror surface where you want it. With that, I would look at the control/memory circuit, motor/servo unit. If your not a do-it-your self type, I would save a lot of time and frustration and have a dealer diagnos the problem, then you might be able to buy the parts second hand and save some money. If you want to turn it off all together, there should be a fuse in either the fuse box on the lower left side by the drivers foot weel. Or under the left hood , in the fuse box on top of the fender. Look in your Owners Manual for location. Paul
  25. Is it done Yet??? I's been over a 100' for the last week and we have the ES gased -up and pointed east. Will BYOB. Paul
