  1. Since I only belong to this forum and one other for my S80, 07' Volvo, I can only speak to the two. This forum is always prompt and friendly to my questions, and the moderators and manager are always helping with their expertise. The fact that it is not all "gear heads" allows less technical people such as myself to feel free to ask the dumb questions.
  2. I am not sure of this, but I seem to recall a previous posting on this question and they said it was under the passenger front seat. Again, I am not sure of my recall. Hope this is helpfull.
  3. Which Priority Start product would you recomend for an ES330? It sounds like a device one should have on all their cars. Thanks. Paul
  4. Definately check the gas cap. I'm not sure about older model ES's, but on most years, after you fill up, if you don't screw the cap back on until you feel it "click, click,", the light will come on fairly soon and will not go off until you have reset the gas cap and driven a while. Hope this helps. Had this happen to me before.
  5. I kmow this is an old topic, but I wondered if those of you with Black cars would say they are more difficult to keep looking sharp than the Black Garnet on my 05' ES? I'm asking for future reference on a trade. Thank you.
  6. Are they going to guarantee your warrantee?
  7. I know this sounds crazy, but almost every week someone will ask me what color my Black Garnet ES is or wants to know the paint details for there own car. It is by far the most popular color of car I have ever owned. Steve, have you found this to be the case with your ES as well? Paul
  8. I have been talking with my Lexus Service Advisor Re; a 460 I'm looking at. She verified that at least, at this dealership, they use 9 quarts of synthetic oil in the LS460. In my ES, they recommend an oil change once a year.
  9. Some clarification; When you say it won't crank, do you mean the engine will not turn over at all, or the engine will trun over but not start. When you say the lights and radio work are you saying that the battery is fully charged? Even if the lights are on and the radio works the battery can still be low enough to not have enough juice to turn over the engine. On the overdrive matter, not at all qualified for this , but don't see how your cranking problem could possibly be connected.
  10. I'm with you on the Peridot. It is such a dark hue that it is almost a "bi-color". In fact it's tendency to play cameleon reminds me of the Black Garnet paint treatment on my 05' ES. Green is a hard color to pull off on an automobile. Only one good color I remember is from my teens, when I worked after school at a Rambler dealer. It was a 64' Rambler Marlin (memory check) and it was a vivid Emerald Green. Beautiful.
  11. The usual Kelly Blue Book or NADA web sites can give you a ball park figure on what the market price for your stated car might be for your zip code. However, in my area, Des Moines, many dealers i.e. Lexus,Infinity,Jaguar,Range Rover etc. are calling the auction houses while you are in the show room and getting prices for what your type of trade-in is bringing that day and won't even consider what a Kelley Bluebook or other resource says is a fair market value for your trade-in. There for, it is hard to say how to find a good third party reference for pricing information that will actually hold water. Go to the lot, read the dealer web sites, compare like crazy, and ask for all of the incentives they are offering now. Certified is the only way to go.
  12. It was probably a 2010 ES350. The color is Peridot.
  13. I currently have a 2005,ES330 and am looking at trading for a 07' LS460. Being of modest means, I am concerned about the increaed cost of owning and maintaing an LS. My Lexus service advisor has told me for example that oil changes that are $60 for the ES are $120 for the LS. Also, additional maintenance such as tune-ups, tires and tire rotations, parts, etc. are all about double for the LS. I assume that insurance and license would also be higher. Question. Is this information accurate, and has this been the experience of you, the present oweners. I would greatly welcome your feedback. Thank You.
  14. I am wanting to trade when the new ES edition comes out in what I believe Steve said would be 2011. Does anyone know of a concept car photo or drawing on the web that one can go to for a sneek peek. This is a long shot I know. Paul
  15. Thank you for your answer. You always do a great job. Paul
  16. I'll bite. What is a non interferance engine?
  17. Thanks goodness for caveats.(Joke) As I said I am not an expert, but it is my understanding that you do not have to take the dashboard apart to install new tweeters. This is the point where it would be helpful for someone else to chime in with their expert advice.
  18. Actually, the combination of adding additional amps and upgrading the front speakers would probably be a goog start. I simply placed a small,(8 inch) sub-woofer and amp in the trunk of my ES to add bottom and smooth out the bass and am very happy. I am not an expert, only a music lover. An upgrade of my front tweeters is next.
  19. I have a 05' ES330,(45,000 miles) with just about everything including power pedals, which I can't find on the 350. What would you do? Trade now for a 2010 ES350, or wait until 2011 or 2012 for the next version of the ES family. No answer to dumb since this question is pretty wide open. Thanks everyone.
  20. Thanks Steve, I knew you'd have the answer.
  21. Hi All, We have had the ES 300,330,and 350. Does anyone know what may come after the 350 and if so, when? Thinking of tradeing over the next 24-48 months. Thank You.
  22. Remember, before you go to your dealer what the previous writer said about computing based on economy. All manufacturers allow for 3-5 gallons to be remaining in the tank eve though your trip computer says your dead in the road and your gas gauge light is on. Yesterday, my Range readout said 15 miles left, and the gas gauge light had been on for 20 minutes. I put in the nozzle but could only barely squeze in 14 gallons. Obviously I had 4.1 gallons left. When I leave the city and get on the Interstate, my range readout shows consistantly more and more miles the farther I drive until it averages out. These are not NASA grade precision instruments. 2005 ES330 - 42300 miles
  23. I have an 05' ES330, and your system is not working properly. The AC will come on in the auto mode in both hot and cold weather. It comes on in cold weather to prevent the windows from fogging over while the engine is warming. You should be able to simply touch the AC button and shut it off. However, in the heating mode the auto mode should direct the air flow to the floor only, when engine and cabin are fully warm, and to the upper vents and floor while the engine and cabin are warming. Again to warm up the glass. Others on this forum are more qualified than I. But, something is not right with the sensors in you climate control system. Good luck, stay warm.
  24. This is a real problem sometimes. My aftermarket remote start gives me a 2,000ft. range. Since I live where our winters are cold, I can take advantage of that range and start my car while I'm still in the mall shopping, or in the office building and the car is out in the parking lot, etc., and it is nice and warm when I get there. There have also been a few times when I have seen someone walking around my car, looking in the windows and such, while I have been a block away or so. Using that 2,000ft. range, I start the car and watch the "admirer" exit the scene.
