  1. I used to be a smog tech and had a car come in that failed for high HC and CO, badly. Customer brought the car back the next day and the car passed with flying colors. Out of curiousity, I asked him what he replaced/repaired and his response was, I used Seafoam." This guy worked for a non-profit vehicle donation program and was a regular. The only evidence I have is what I witnessed.
  2. There may be rubber plugs that are missing in the trunk. Lift up the carpet, remove the spare wheel and make sure all the holes in the sheet metal have plugs in them.
  3. Not a problem. Thanks for keeping everyone informed on what worked for you. Might be helpful to another member in the future.

    Howcome?!?!?

LOL. Wives are much better then because my fiance could care less if I had beer or not.

    Howcome?!?!?

I would never be low on beer's with one of those. :D
  6. Custom HU wiring harness. I don't think any company has made one specifically for your car yet.
  7. Just run a Line Output Converter, aftermarket amp, aftermarket subwoofer and call it a day. I'd leave the stock amp in place.
  8. Wow, that's one hell of a user name. I didn't even know that you can do that.
  9. Is it very noticable? I'd just leave it alone if it were my car, because I know that they're going to replace it with an aftermarket one.
  10. It wouldn't pose a problem as a temporary replacement. Hard to tell how long a used one would last though.
  11. Do a voltage drop test on the battery cables.
  12. Are you sure your battery is fully charged? Did it start after you replaced the starter yesterday?
  13. It'll run, like how rich21 descibed.

  15. Thanks for the informative replies. I'm going to stick with what's working for me though. I don't have much room in my engine bay, so that filter would be a headache to mount.
  16. Have you popped the hood and looked for the coil's yet? The other coil is to the right of the one pictured in the link. No, you don't have to remove all that, that was a timing belt tutorial. Just locate the coil and remove whatever is in the way.
  17. No, not much lag at all. It's a large turbo but I'm using a .63 a/r housing so it spools up much faster. GT series turbo's reach full spool very quickly because they are ball bearing turbo's. My car reaches full spool at about 2000 RPM's. With good tuning you shouldn't experience much lag at all. It's all about the tuning. A 35r would be a good choice for your engine. Just stick with a .63 or .68 a/r housing and you should be fine. If you're aiming for 550+ RWHP and wouldn't mind the extra lag (maybe an additional 300 RPM's) go with a .82 a/r housing. Keep in mind that the 35r doesn't shine under 18 psi., it would be a waste to run them under 18 psi anyways. What are you power goals?
  18. You are correct in regards to 1rst and maybe 2nd gear because of the SC400's stock torque converter but if the SC owner brake torques at launch I still think the SC will take the BMW especially at topend and in the back half of the race.... 92Lex - 512whp is alot of horsepower, how do you keep those rears gripping in 1rst, 2nd and 3rd gears? The HP loss with an automatic tranny is about 20-25% and 15-17% for manual transmissions. So even though the two cars have nearly identical HP numbers, the bimmer is still laying down more to the wheels. JIBBY, I wasn't directly attacking you in any way. I just believe that street racing is a dangerous thing and that racing should be kept on the tracks. I used to attend Friday night street races all the time and have seen how some people make it dangerous (lack of skills). Plus, there are tons of people there but no guard rail. How do I keep the rubber from spinning? I just feather the gas, most of the time. Having 285's on 10" rims also helps.
