  1. I'm not sure what the exact problem is but it's normal for cold engine's to idle high. Automatics also tend to "creep" because they are always in gear.
  2. Sure, replacement of the above parts should increase gas mileage but it's definitely not going to be a drastic improvement. You stated that you had better gas mileage while driving alone but driving conditions have changed with the addtion of your kids and wife. It would be safe to assume that the addition of a few extra pounds, would decrease your MPG.
  3. Timing belt, water pump, camshaft seals, (front) crankshaft seal, upper and lower timing belt idler pulley, hydraulic tensioner, thermostat and coolant. You probably should consider replacing these parts while you're at it.... spark plugs, distributor caps, distributor rotors and spark plug wires.

  6. No doubt that this is going to be a debate. I'm not trying to attack you in any way or prove you wrong....we both have our reasons. If you disagree, aint no thang...I wanna hear you out. The given air that is actually cooling the rotors and brake pads via D/S rotors only makes a difference when they are in use. With a daily driven vehicle, the extent of usage is minimal, compared to track/auto-x usage. Air flow and cooling of brake components is crtitical to performance but how often do we push the brakes to the limits, in a daily driven vehicle? The slots and holes do provide ventilation for the brake material but the sole purpose is to shave overheated brake pad material/gasses off of the brake pads. It's likely that you will not encounter these problems on the streets. The way you and I may drive our cars might affect choice of components, but from the factory, stock components were enginered beyond our knowledge. Just flexing my points.... BTW, I beat the hell out of my car...street or track.

  8. Porsche's are tracked on occasions. Stock Porsche braking systems are like aftermarket BBK's, they were intended for high performance applications....big calipers matched to big rotors. Drilled/slotted brake rotors have less braking surface for the pads to grip to. The stock calipers were designed to work perfectly fine with blank rotors. D/S oversized brake rotors + oversized calipers = performance D/S stock sized brake rotors + calipers = bling factor
  9. Drilled and slotted rotors actually provide less braking surface for your brake pads to grasp to. Sticking with blanks would be the best choice for a vehicle that is laying down factory HP and doesn't see track usage. Drilled and slotted rotors are mainly for the aesthetics of a vehicle.
  10. The team has actually improved with the addtion of T.O. and Romo. I think the only reason we hear so much about T.O. is because reporters always zero in on him. Parcells' done with anyways...he's old and definitely too conservative to be coaching the Cowboys. I don't think his retirement had anything to do with T.O. either.
  11. Sorry, I didn't read the original post carefully. It's not the fuel pump. I thought you said the noise was coming from the back of the vehicle.
  12. You're probably just hearing the fuel pump....normal.
